Chapter 131: The Royal Command.

Aragon knew they would be arriving soon, and there she was standing right outside the throne room. He placed the crown on Gwen’s head, and crooked a finger at Raziah, gesturing at her to come inside.

His wife walked in without a care as usual, but she stopped in the middle of her walk. Everyone’s attention was now on her, and he could see her scanning around the room. Almost everyone she knew was present in the room including Caius whom had been trying to wave at her. Raziah chose not to come any closer to him after what happened between them the night before. Gwenore had stood back up to her feet, a Golden Crown sitting perfectly on her head as she took the sit next to the king’s throne, putting on an exquisite Royal gown.

Gwen didn’t look quite alright. Her Two maids had suddenly informed her this morning that the King had returned to the palace and asked for her to get ready for her coronation in the evening. No one saw this coming, and she would be damned if she told herself she was ready for any of this. She couldn’t even talk the King out of it, because his whole aura had changed once again.

He had switched back to that distant man that held no emotions, only a reeking sense of darkness and danger from his eyes and body language. A few weeks ago when he had visited her in her chambers, they had a decent conversation about her being his wife, and things had been going quite smoothly between them even though he still hasn’t made any move to bed her.

And now with everyone present down to the council that oversees the affairs of the King, Raziah stood in the middle of everything looking as composed as always. She wasn’t even batting a lash as she stood staring back at Aragon, but Gwen could hear the princess’s loud heartbeat. Raziah was nervous, that much was clear.

Raziah kept taking in deep breaths, but it didn’t seem to calm her down at all. She was afraid he had recognized her as the woman he fought last night, and was ready to sentence her to her death straight away. Why had he attacked her that night? She dearly wished she could ask him, but she was better off keeping quiet as always.

"As King of Erandell..." He began, and Raziah’s legs shook a little. The room was so quiet like the god of silence was passing by. Aragon’s deep voice was loud and bold, filling everyone’s ears as he completed his statement, "I hereby Divorce Raziah Octavius of Naria. She is no longer my wife and would return to her homeland before the next nightfall. This is a Royal Command!"

The next minute felt like multiple hours in her mind. Raziah’s body went so numb that everything began to spin around her, the whole image turned blurry and she felt like she was going to fall though she put on her hardest shield and made sure her feet stayed glued to the floor.

Her ears weren’t deceiving her. She heard him right. Leaving him was part of her plan. Everyone around her knew she didn’t like this marriage in any way, and she’s sworn to find a way to leave him even though it might not be easy. The trick to bring Gwenore into the picture so he would let her go had backfired on her that unfaithful night, but right now he had just given to her on a silver platter without her raising a finger.

Now the question is, where was that Joy she had hoped to feel at this moment? Her wish had come true, so why wasn’t her heart rejoicing and jumping with gladness and relief? Why wasn’t she on her knees thanking him for this wonderful blessing and freedom he had bestowed upon her? Why wasn’t she running toward Malcolm or Maria to hug them due to the excitement oozing out of her? Why, why, why??

Instead, She felt nothing. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Nothing at first.

Then...The ache came. It was so small at first that she didn’t notice it, but then it began to cage her, spreading slowly across her chest, threatening to burst into her heart and consume her.

Still, she refused to move. She refused to acknowledge that feeling. She wouldn’t accept it. If it was pain she felt now, she would ignore it. She would overlook it. Her will was too strong for her to fall apart because of this.

When she finally replied, it was just as loud and bold as his, "Of course, your Majesty." She bowed at his marvelous presence, "Your command will be carried out effectively!"

Everyone in the room was in total shock. No one was spared from it because, after their clash the other night at the banquet when he had married Gwenore and told Raziah that he would never let go of her, it was the last thing anyone expected from Aragon. Acacia was most baffled about it, she didn’t understand where all this was coming from all of a sudden, and the Princess had already walked past her before she could snap out of her trance.

Immediately, Acacia made her way Into the throne room. Tatiana stared at the sorceress intensely, observing her movements that came with alertness and urgency as she immediately fell to her knees in front of the king, her breathing fast, "Your Majesty, Please reconsider! Please! You cannot do this!"

The Enchantress looked between Acacia and the King, puzzled. What on earth was she trying to do? Get herself killed?

Aragon’s eyes moved to the woman whose head was almost touching the floor, and then they narrowed slightly at her. Seeing this reaction, Tatiana moved forward too and fell on her knees, "My King, Please forgive her! Show mercy!" She begged with trembling lashes.

They’ve always known that they can never converse normally with the king whenever he’s in this state of mind. He could order death sentences anytime to anyone, and there was no telling what was going through his head. Right now, no one can go against his decision about Princess Raziah, and so they need to be patient and wait calmly till his demeanor was back to normal. For now, everyone has to be extra careful.

"Your Majesty, You cannot let her leave the palace!" Acacia gritted her teeth, knowing she was risking her life, "Please..." She tried, holding back her tears. She was his trusted person, and therefore she knew at least a handful about the man she left the Amethyst Forest to serve. He has assisted her so many times, and she can’t just sit there and watch him make a mistake that could haunt him forever. She was mostly doing this because of what her brother had told her about the chances of Raziah being pregnant.

"Acacia! What are you doing?!" Tatiana snarled at the woman beside her.

"Help me!" Acacia whispered back urgently, her eyes bawling with tears, "We need to stop this from happening! Raziah cannot leave this palace. Out there, it’s dangerous! He will end up regretting this."
