Who the hell was he?
In the darkness of the night with the crescent moon as the only source of light, there were two people walking toward the direction of the palace through the woods. With Caius beside him, Aragon thought quietly down the path they took.
Who the hell was he? Dried blood covered his face. His eyes bore into the ground, repeating the same thing in his mind over and over again. He might be King, but it didn’t mean anything at this point to him. What’s the use of being so powerful if he cannot have what he truly wants?
Why so powerful with no one? It had been a very lonely journey.
A presence was felt just by their left, and Caius both turned to see Zoan walking. He didn’t look the least bit interested in them and just kept coming as they were too. He was looking like someone trying their hardest not to yell at the sun, Caius could feel that boiling energy coming from him even though his eyes were bland.
Just as Zoan was about to walk past them, he looked up and noticed the both of them for the first time. He had been so out of it that their presence had been overshadowed by everything going on in his head. Seeing Aragon there almost messed up his head even more if not that Aragon himself didn’t seem to notice Zoan either.
"When you said she would be responsible for my downfall..." Zoan was instantly in front of Aragon and choking his collar, "You meant this, didn’t you?!"
Aragon looked up at his angry brother but didn’t say anything.
Zoan couldn’t care less. He tightened his grip and pulled Aragon closer to his face, "How did you know?! What are you? How did you even know from the start that her absence will shake me this much?"
"Let go of me," Aragon warned. He didn’t have the time nor the strength to deal with his brother right now.
"Make me!" Zoan said.
Aragon raised an arm and tried to pull Zoan back, but Zoan wasn’t letting go. Aragon closed his eyes shut for a second, trying to hold himself back, "It’s not my fault you couldn’t control your feelings around her and now you’re blaming me because she’s no longer here," Aragon grabbed Zoan’s hand, clutching down on it tightly.
"So her going away, leaving me empty and cold was how she cause my downfall, isn’t it? Because I sure as hell feel like I’m falling, and it’s a very terrible feeling you see!"
"So what am I supposed to do? Bring her back? Why should I care about what you want? You made it obvious you wanted nothing to do with me again."
"Are you kidding me right now?" Zoan snarled and threw a fist at Aragon’s face. The force of the punch whipped his face to the side, and blood gathered inside his mouth, "Is that what you have to say when it’s all your fault?! You brought this mess upon me and Elliot! You made me struggle everyday with powers I never wanted, powers I was never born with. You carried on with the plan and Elliot died on your watch! You watched all my movements during these ten years! You followed me to the grand castle and took everything for your damn self!"
"And I took the throne for myself," Aragon chuckled, spitting out blood along with a few teeth, "And I became this powerful, and I was always victorious..." His teeth were bloody as he raised his head to look at his brother.
As soon as he did, another punch hit the other side of his face and blood ran down the side of his lip. Aragon wouldn’t stop smiling, and that enraged Zoan even more.
"Elliot would have wanted me to forgive you, and as much as I would wanted to grant him that I do not think I will ever be sincere about it. Both of us cannot look pathetic to the world because we’ve lost our women. At the very least, if I cannot get mine back, you can " Zoan said.
"Hate me all you want. You can keep blaming me for Elliot’s death, you can keep throwing everything my way. What you understand is so little that I could almost pity you!" Aragon spat out, infuriating his brother even more.
Zoan’s eyes sharpened in fury, "Aragon!" He roared and went for another hit. There was a sudden pause in time, and the next second Zoan was crashing through several trees behind him, knocking them down as his body went flying till he finally ripped his claw into the ground and stopped the momentum.
Running off to his brother, Zoan shove his leg out to kick him when Aragon dodged quickly and moved out of the way but a shift in the air had Aragon sharply glancing to his side where Zoan’s smoke had shown up out of nowhere and that same leg appeared from inside and slammed into Aragon’s side, knocking him aside.
"You took it all away from me, and replaced it with nightmares." Zoan’s eyes were focused on his target, and there was his craziness building up in them, "How dare you?! Who the hell do you think you’re?!" And he took off at an insanely fast speed with his claws out, ready to attack or defend.
His smoke had filled the whole place making it hard for Aragon to breathe. Aragon could feel the smoke passing through every hole in his body, messing with his internals and playing with his mind. Zoan was strong. He could mind control anything that had smoke or could create smoke like fire.
Aragon fell to his knees, his body growing pale as the element invaded his body.
"Who the hell do I think I am?" He abruptly looked up at his brother, his eyes almost bulging out of their socket and red from the torments of his mind, "That’s what I’ve been asking myself, you Arrogant twerp!" And Aragon’s fist flung out and crashed with that of Zoan’s.
The raw energy between them didn’t even let their fists collide, each fighting for supremacy like it was a battle of strength. An Ash ball of energy was forming between their fists that were almost touching, and the amount of wind gushing from the ball threatened to blow the whole place away.
It felt like a hurricane had hit the place.
Suddenly, the energy got to its limit since both of them were adamant and weren’t letting the other have it. It blew up right there, and the brothers were thrown back, both of them slamming back into several trees. The whole place looked like it had been cleared of any form of vegetation, an empty field.
Zoan stood up to his feet, his head dripping with blood.
Aragon pushed himself up, glaring at his brother.
"Are you really planning to kill each other?" The beast inside of him asked, "And why aren’t you allowing me to heal you?"
"This is between me and Zoan. Let’s have at it. I’ve always wanted to beat him up!"
And both brothers flung at each other again.
Caius had left the scene the second Zoan had punched Aragon the first time, and he sat down under a tree not too far from where they were messing up each other’s bodies. Sometimes they would scream like Madmen, and then something would snap like someone had broken a bone.
He wasn’t panicking, instead, he was calm. It’s best they beat the anger and resentment out of each other or else the bad blood isn’t going anywhere. Zoan and Aragon needed this. They need to get so into each other’s business and feel so much pain that they would finally confess what really happened and clear the air.
Raising his hand, Caius raised his hand and placed it against his chest where his heart was beating. It wasn’t so strong anymore, getting weaker as the days passed by.
The last body he had housed had been strong and the woman had been a doctor and was also a Lazarus. She was very close to Mirabai and was a loyal friend and sister. His Job was to watch over them without interfering, he didn’t care at first since it wasn’t too much work but it had escalated.
First of all some Vampires know about him and are trying to get rid of him...how did they come to know he was now residing inside Caius? They also know that his weakness was the light from the full moon, but he had managed to overcome it that night. He knows his weakness was somehow related to the rent-free creature living inside Aragon though.
And now that Raziah was pregnant and there was a chance that the child could gain both parents’ powers and no one was making any step to tell either of the parents, he felt he had to step up. At the very least, Aragon who has been suffering to have a child should know.
But Caius had only tried to convince him to see her and see things for himself. When Aragon gets there, he himself would find out about Raziah’s condition.
It was almost dawn when the fighting stopped. Caius headed back to the fight, and scouted the scene. Trees had fallen everywhere. It looked like the hurricane had dumped everything that had been uprooted down there, and somewhere in between where Zoan and Aragon were on their knees, covered in blood with each other’s chins resting on the shoulders of the other. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"Is it finally over?" Caius asked, still maintaining his distance.
