Chapter 147: Stupid Decisions.

Swollen eyes, broken limbs, Torn flesh, Gushing blood, broken nose. Aragon and Zoan couldn’t raise a finger anymore. They had beaten each other to the point where their faces couldn’t be recognized anymore, except for Caius who already knew what went on.

"Is it over?" He asked from afar as he saw them leaning against each other on their knees. He was about to step closer when he saw their lips moving. Looks like they were now using their tongues to communicate again instead of their fists.

"You... bastard..." Zoan was having trouble breathing though he was already healing. Aragon might have punched his throat somewhere during the fight, and blood was running down his mouth.

"You...fool...!" Aragon also had blood in his mouth. One of Zoan’s attacks had destroyed one of his organs, but he was going to be ok.

"It’s...all...your fault!" Zoan groaned.

"And I...tried to fix it. I’m..." Aragon gritted through the pain, "Still trying...to fix...it."

"Idiot!" Zoan cracked out harshly, "You cannot... bring the dead... back to life!"

"Yes, I...can," Aragon replied, "It’s been...done before successfully. We...can do it...again!"

Zoan paused, "I... don’t understand,"

"And I...have been... watching over...you, you fool! I didn’t..." Aragon cursed as the pain grew, and he vomited out more blood, "I didn’t...even know...what was going on...at the grand castle till...I got there. She had...a nice... scent...I was...drawn...I didn’t know she...was the present..."

"Is there something out there you do not know about?" Zoan asked, his throat already better but he still couldn’t move from his position since his little brother had broken both of his legs and it would take a longer time for them to heal.

"Apparently, there...is," Aragon responded tightly, cursing more inside of his head, "Was... Raziah really...the Present they all came for...that night?"

"They were drawn to her cold blood I guess,"

"Even... The witches?"

"Well I’m sure...they wanted to check if it would also turn out to be useful to them but since you put your scent on her, none of them could come close to her,"

Aragon recalled that day like it happened just yesterday. He had been sneaking around the grand castle, wondering who had the intoxicating spicy scent that was pulling him in. He knew he was getting close, and as soon as he had rounded up a corner he halted but his arms were still flared from the fast strides he had taken.

And the arm had swung out and tapped her backside, which had resulted in her kicking him in the face with her foot. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

"Zo...an..." Aragon clutched his wound and his face constricted with pain.

"You will die if you do not start healing. You’re bleeding internally!" The beast in him spoke, but Aragon was still holding him back from self-healing.

"What is it?" Zoan grumbled.

"I... know what I am. " He confessed, "It took me a long time, but the fusion...is finally complete and... I know what...I am."

"Fusion?" Zoan implied, seeking more explanation on that.

"When... Elliott died, I couldn’t..." Aragon squeezed his eyes shut, "When I made you follow me... And I couldn’t find you anymore..." His body shuddered from the memories, and Zoan quickly grabbed Aragon’s shoulders before he fell, "When I accepted and awakened... It was dark...and suffocating...I couldn’t do it... Alone... I..."

The numbness from Zoan’s leg had healed away, and he could feel something warm running down his thighs. As soon as he saw that it was blood and Aragon was bleeding both internally and externally, he insistently asked, "What is happening?! Why aren’t you healing?"

"I thought I had...led you...to your death... but you were alive. I wanted to... protect you...from the world...I wanted to...be there... like Elliott was... So I... became king...and gained..." He vomited more blood, and Zoan shook him heavily by the shoulders.

"Can’t you heal? What is going on?" Zoan tried to pull Aragon back so he could look at his brother’s face, but Aragon was holding on to his brother’s with his one hand that wasn’t broken.

"Power...yet... yet...!"

"Are you doing this on purpose?! I will murder you if you’re! I will kill you if you die!" Zoan would have healed Aragon, but that would require him having Aragon bite into his hand and take his blood but who knows what that would do to Aragon who isn’t a vampire like him.

"You fell for...an unknown. Your... eyes held a little warmth...when you returned, I knew...she was responsible...for it. " Aragon referred to Aletta. No matter how much Zoan had tried to deny it or ignore it because of the hatred always bursting from him, Aragon had easily seen it in his eyes, "But I didn’t know...how to react to it. The feeling...was similar to what I felt...with Raziah... like she would be the end on me...I tried...to warn you by saying she... would be responsible for...your downfall,"

At this point, Zoan could only hold his brother and listen. His hands were trembling as held Aragon. His legs were almost healed up to the point where he could walk, and he had already absorbed back all the smoke running through Aragon’s body to lessen his pain. But, the emotions he felt were still overwhelming.

Whenever he tried to move, Aragon would hold him back making Zoan wonder where Aragon was getting the strength from and that scared him even more. Anyone ought to be dead by now with this much blood loss that was now flowing on the ground around them.

"I never... meant it... I made...stupid decisions,"

"I have heard you, now do something about your injuries!" Zoan’s blood boiled as fear gripped him hard when he heard Aragon’s heartbeat growing slow.

"You won’t die, you’re just gonna bleed and pass out. But let me tell you one thing since the unpredictable happened and we fused into one, my powers were able to grow and heal the both of us," The beast told Aragon, "Your beating heart before that meant nothing to your dead body now means a lot. Do you understand what I’m trying to say?" It explained and Aragon immediately got the gist.

Aragon’s eyes widened, and his reaction looked priceless. With his head placed on Zoan’s shoulder, the healing process began and his wounds began to close up. Once Zoan realized his wounds weren’t bleeding anymore, a sigh of relief escaped his lips as he was already contemplating how he was gonna force his weak body to get help as fast as possible.

But seriously, Aragon had scared the living hell out of him.

"Yes, you’ve made a lot of stupid decisions and I do hope you do not make anyone again," Zoan said and pulled Aragon back so he could look at his brother’s bloody face. Aragon’s eyes were still empty, and Zoan shook his head unable to believe what he was about to say, "She’s getting married in the next four days. If you do not hurry up and get her back before then...Well, it’ll be your loss and not mine,"

Caius had noticed something coming not too far from them and wandered in that direction. As he got closer, he recognized the graceful presence of the man that looked after the Witch’s forest.

When Caius had gone missing in the forest, Bell had gone looking for him. He had traced Caius using the perfume he had asked Fabia to always apply on him Incase he went missing so he would be easily traceable and Bell had ended up here.

He had witnessed everything that happened starting from Caius’s change in demeanor and his conversation with Aragon. He had sucked in his aura and cast a powerful spell alongside so he wouldn’t easily be detected but it seems he had been so engrossed in listening to Aragon’s confession to his brother that he might have subconsciously let out a bit of his aura which led to Caius finding him.

But from all that had happened, Bell knew the man standing before him right now isn’t Caius.

"So you’re the reason why the innocent boy is being harmed," Bell broke the silence between them, standing his ground.

"I’m afraid I do not choose the body I inhabit or else I would have gone for a stronger one that can protect itself," The boy replied.

"So, what’re you?"

"A Deity," He replied without hesitation.
