As they had breakfast, Raziah was humming softly under her breath. Food has never tasted so delicious in her mouth before. Probably because it was Aragon feeding it to her. She noticed he had different clothes on from the ones he was putting on last night.
"Did you bring some of your things while you were coming?" She asked after swallowing another bite.
"Oh, no. I ran back to Erandell early this morning to fetch some," He replied nonchalantly and made to add another spoon inside her mouth but she wasn’t opening up.
"Come again," She said.
"I fetched some this morning at Erandell, my place."
"Did you just say...you ran all the way there?!"
Now he understood her. A grin appeared on his lips, "Only took me a few minutes to get there," With him fused with his beast, his powers grew day by day. Even he didn’t know the extent of what he could do now. Good thing he had held back a lot during his fight with Zoan.
Raziah was gobsmacked. Traveling from Erandell to Naria by horse was about twenty hours on a fast horse, and this man had just claimed he had gotten there in mere minutes. "Are you now the fastest man in the world or what?" She finally accepted the food from his hanging arm.
"Maybe, who knows what else is lurking out there," He replied, "And even if I am, there were others faster than me. They’re just not alive,"
"Who are they?"
"Hm. Let me see...There was a powerful woman called Abelia. I think she died about three hundred years ago. She was evil, a special Vampire that could control sand. There’s also Williams, a man who lived and died in a library. Rumors had it that he was kidnapping Vampires and performing experiments on them, trying to turn them human. The Vampires suffered a lot, and he still never succeeded in what he wanted to achieve till other Vampires found out and set his library on fire. With his speed and power, he surely would have escaped but chose to die with it,"
The entire time, Raziah had stopped chewing. She’s seen those names before. That tombstone she once stumbled upon with the massive statues...those names were embedded on them. This time, she didn’t hesitate to let him know about all that happened that day. By then, she had finished her food.
"So, some idiot is after you, huh?!"
"Calm down," she took his hands and massaged softly before his physical appearance begins to change.
"And according to the person, you... offended them sometime in the past. Don’t worry, with all you’ve told me I’ll get to the root of the matter,"
"But...how?"
"I’ll have a few people work on it. We’ll get to the root of the matter," he repeated more solidly this time.
Raziah remembered the chills she had gotten the day the person had spoken behind her, "You have to be careful. That person might be more dangerous than you think,"
"And that person will also receive the beat down of five lifetimes," His eyes twitched. It’s like he was trying to keep his rage inside but she could still feel his temperature rising.
Just then, a knock was heard on her door.
"It’s Malcolm...and Maria...," Aragon murmured as he turned to the door.
"Maria has been standing there for a while now," Aragon whispered to Raziah, who simply shook her head in mirth. Maria must have been scared to come in because of Aragon’s presence.
"Come on in," She said out loud and Malcolm walked in with Maria following closely behind him.
He looked between Aragon and Raziah, "It was pregnancy after all," He smiled, then bowed immediately, "Congratulations, your highness!"
"What are you doing?!" She stood up, "Raise your head! You’re my elder brother!"
"I’m so happy for you, my Princess," Maria was now standing between Malcolm and Raziah. She looked happy, and Raziah hugged her.
"Aren’t you going to congratulate me too?!" Aragon asked with a certain twinkle in his eyes, and Maria turned into a rock.
Raziah had to fold her lips to keep from giggling. Meanwhile, Malcolm was surprised at Raziah’s sudden bubbly behavior. He could only deduce that it was because of Aragon’s presence. She was beginning to look more like her former self.
Maria took a step back, eyes trembling, "Con... congratulations, your Majesty,"
Aragon nodded proudly, "You did well for your first time."
"If there’s anything you need, we won’t be far, ok?" Malcolm told her before they both excused themselves and left the couple alone.
"You were scaring her!" Raziah laughed when they left, "She was shaking!"
Aragon chuckled softly, "Since we would be seeing each other a lot from now since both of us are gonna follow you anywhere you go, I don’t see why she shouldn’t start getting used to me," He shrugged.
He was right. They would be seeing each other frequently.
But the statement Aragon just said made her smile again. He was right. He was now a part of her, someone special to her... just like Maria and Malcolm were. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
The only problem now was her telling him about her past...and her plans. It would break him. He might even see her as a monster, and try to stop her. If she were to start telling him, she would have to tell him everything and it wasn’t an option for her.
If only he was human. Maybe then, he might understand.
"You’re thinking again." He stated, studying her.
Raziah shook her head softly, "It’s Nothing,"
"Not when you were that deep in thought," He responded and went to sit next to her.
"You shouldn’t bother yourself about it," And there she was, trying to sound convincing again.
"Now you’re making me more worried. Is there still something that you can’t tell me?" He uttered softly, caressing her neck. She couldn’t say no to him, but some things just had to be done.
"You know there’s a reason why I was always acting cold. All this might be happening now and a few things might have changed, but I’ve still got my obligations and a goal. Nothing can stop me from achieving that," Raziah stood strong on her words, and Aragon noticed how much frigid her eyes got, swirling with hard ice before they became calm again.
"What goal...is that?" He was almost afraid to say it.
"When the time comes, you’ll see,"
Now he was really scared. As much as he wanted to believe there was a good thing going on in her mind, her eyes told a very different story. He wished he could somehow convince her to tell him, but the chances were very slim so he resorted to asking the question that would determine everything, "Can I trust you?"
She couldn’t look into his eyes anymore. The guilt was killing her and so she looked away to the brightness streaming in through the window, "I’m not trustworthy."
"Raziah...," He gritted, going down to grip her shoulders, "Tell me, what happened? I promise I won’t say anything. I just want to listen. I want to know what’s bothering you. You know I can’t rest easy till I know you’re completely fine." It sounded like he was pleading.
Still, she didn’t look away from the window.
"Just give me something... anything... Don’t keep it all to yourself, hm?"
Looking down, his eyes widened when he saw she was now rubbing her blue wristband again. Unlike before when she did it quite often while they were together, since last night when they saw each other she didn’t even remember it was on. But now... She was touching it again. She was scared again.
"My mother...was murdered," She forced the words out, and memories of that night flashed in her eyes. The blood, the screams, the demon that had her mother in its clutches while she died, the burning villages, the smoke in the air. The terrifying view.
Raziah’s eyes turned cold again, "And I will get my revenge. I know I will hurt if you end up hating me for doing it, but it’s the Risk I’m willing to take. I don’t mind ending up alone as long as I do it."
The hate that poured from her words was more than he imagined. She had the same nerve, the same audacity, the same bloodthirst to make the person pay...the same way he feels about who killed Elliot. If not more.
Now it was beginning to make sense. Maybe the person who killed her mother wasn’t human, showing why she hated the supernatural so much. Her mother had been very important to her.
"Aragon..." She then reached out and took her hand in his, squeezing a little.
"Don’t worry, I won’t hate you," He reassured, but she had something else in mind.
Raziah squeezed his hand even more, her face convulsing in pain, "No no..." And then she made to stand up, "It’s the baby. I think he’s ready to... I think you should go and get Fabia right away!"
