"I thought I told you I do not want to see you here," Zoan spelled out harshly, glaring at his brother who was looking down from the tall fence of the palace. While Zoan was sitting on one of the branches of the old and leafless tree again, Aragon was on the ground looking down intensely at the world that was stretched out below them.
He couldn’t get some sleep after everything, so here he was. All he could think of was Raziah’s health and the baby. Together with what the old King had told him, he was very uneasy. Raziah turned twenty-four a few months ago, which means she only has about half a year left to live.
But why? Why was fate so cruel? Is that the price to pay for her kind? Just like Vampires are blessed with powers humans can only imagine, but the only default is they cannot come out in the sun.
But why does hers have to be death?
It was hella throwing him off. He has been pacing back and forth ever since he returned. There has to be a way to change this fate.
Raziah cannot die. Not after everything. He can’t lose her. The mere thought of it had him gripping the fence till the walls began to crack.
Plus, There was another thing bugging him. Like...there was something else going wrong. He had this strong urge to check out the Amethyst Forest and find out what was going on. There was something icky and unusual in the air, a new sense of insecurity and danger. He couldn’t quite put it into words but...it suddenly felt as if everything around him had turned vulnerable.
Like... their strength wouldn’t be enough. It was so unusual. He had never felt something so weird and bizarre before. He kept tapping his leg fervently on the ground, unable to find calm.
Zoan gave him a weird look, "What is up with you?"
"Watch after the kingdom. I’ll be back in a few minutes." Aragon said with the intention of heading back to Naria. He needed to know where this bad feeling was coming from. He needed to confront it, and so far, Erandell was still peaceful after that war. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
But the second he turned around to walk away, something glistened in the darkness of the night, like a shooting star heading toward them. Zoan hardly noticed it, till out of nowhere, someone grabbed his hand and shoved him out of the way just as an arrow flew past them and hit the wall, sinking into it.
To his right, he could see it was Aragon that had reacted and pushed him out of harm’s way. Immediately, they both stood up and glanced down from the fence. Zoan couldn’t feel any presence, but Aragon’s eyes sharpened.
They had company. Bad, powerful companies that were trying to hide their presence. They must have thought Zoan was a guard and tried to take him out.
"We are not alone," Aragon whispered to his brother.
"Who are they?" Zoan inquired, his hard eyes staring into the night.
"Three witches and three Vampires. They’re strong...and not exactly alive." Aragon replied.
Zoan had to ask, "How do you know all that? I can hardly feel their presence."
"It’s because of what I am. Get ready, they’re not here to talk," Aragon couldn’t see their faces, just their auras. He balled his hands into fists and quickly moved into the palace to alert everyone of a powerful foe standing at their doorsteps.
"Is that all of them? Do you think some of them Haven’t gone straight to the villages?" Tatiana asked while standing together with the four warriors.
"I don’t know what’s going on, but I’ll be heading now to check out the villages. Six of them have been confirmed. Felix, you’ll be heading straight to Naria just to make sure they’re safe there. Indah, Fertiti, Taj, you’ll be taking on an enemy one on one. Tatiana, you stay inside the palace Incase one of them gets in. Zoan will take on the remaining three with the help of three other guards," Aragon had just finished giving everyone their instructions when the earth beneath them shook.
Snapping his gaze behind him, the King could only deduce that Zoan had already started a fight with them. And if the witches amongst them haven’casted a spell and gotten into the palace by now, it must be Zoan holding them back. But, for how long?
With their enormous Aura, Zoan wouldn’t be able to hold six of them back for long.
"Leave, now!"
Everyone dispersed to take their positions immediately, and Felix left the vicinity and headed straight for Naria. If his calculations were right about Their foes being more than they know of, shouldn’t the King also be worried about where he sent the Princess? Felix was a witch who was permitted to move in and out of the amethyst Forest, and right now he could tell there was something wrong. The connection all witches have made it possible for him to feel it.
But then again, The Crown witch is watching over the forest and he trusted that things should be at least in control. But then, if the enemies are as powerful as the ones that had just invaded Erandell, that might be a problem.
None of the other warriors had ever encountered a foe so powerful. The few seconds that Zoan had used to keep them back had them wondering how in the world he was able to achieve that feat because they were getting their asses beaten very badly right now.
While Zoan was trying to keep up with the other three, Taj was being slammed and rolled grueling on the ground, his back knocking into several trees like a bowling ball. Titi had been overpowered by a vampire and the Vampire’s leg was now being impaled over and over into the crook of her back.
Indah had a dagger stuck in one leg and another deep inside her stomach. All warriors were bleeding from the mouth, and it was clear the difference in strength.
Zoan was fighting two Vampires and a witch. The Vampire was a special one that could control and explode anything he touched, and the other one had an overwhelming strength that could cause a major earthquake if he slammed into anything. The witch was aiding them with her spells from afar, helping them keep up and increasing their output.
Their teamwork was good. Wickedly good. All Zoan could go right now was run. He had to keep running. Lure them far away from the kingdom somewhere so deep into the woods then face them head-on.
At least even if the Vampires decide to unleash every bit of strength and the earth falls, there would be no harm to the kingdom.
He had completely turned into smoke, slipping through their consistent attacks with some eventually hitting him. The guards that had tried to assist him had been killed and he had no choice but to handle these three alone. From what he had seen, it didn’t look like the three warriors would be aiding him anytime soon.
"Stop squirming around like a little mouse!" The Strong Vampire’s deep voice growled in the darkness as he leaped into the air with his arms out, ready to slam into Zoan.
"Armstrong, Don’t be rowdy. You’re not special, your hands will only go through his current form." The explosive Vampire uttered.
"And what about you, Eldor? Your Explosion only creates more smoke for him to mold into."
"Because I’m trying to stop his movements. Can’t you see he’s trying to lure us away from the kingdom?" Eldor replied.
"I’m not stupid. But does it matter? It’s three giants against one mouse. We will get rid of him and join the others."
"The others are doing just fine. If anything, we still won’t get the price. Yelena already scanned everywhere and there was no sign of a cold human with Golden hair. She must be in one of the other locations,"
"We’ll join the others once we are done here. Let’s head to the Witch forest, I have a hunch she might be there,"
"Why do you say so?"
"One of us has been killed. Williams just sent me the message."
Armstrong was surprised and excited, "Killed? Well, I have to admit this generation of Vampires and witches are more stronger than I imagined. Aren’t we supposed to get weaker with each generation?"
"Not to mention, but there was an unfamiliar aura coming from the palace a while ago," Yelena’s small voice chipped into the conversation. She was still far behind running after them, but her spell was bringing her voice forth into their ears, "I think we have a new specie in our hands,"
"Isn’t that just fascinating!" Armstrong yelled into the night and landed on a tree just as Zoan’s smoke form slipped away through his clawed hands.

A light scream coming from one of the towns had them earning a visit from the King. Faster than the blink of an eye, he had already dragged out the Vampire tormenting the household. Choking the Vampire by the neck, he sank his claws into its throat and ripped out its head.
The body turned into sand and dust.
He kept on looking around, slaughtering every one of them he came across. He wasn’t holding back this time, and the beast inside him was hungry, like a hunter of the night out for blood. Witch or vampire, he ripped out their heads for invading his kingdom.
He would have easily taken care of the ones right outside the palace too, but that experience would be for the warriors. If any of them let themselves get killed, he would follow them to the underworld and murder them there again.
His warriors were strong. He would never send them to take care of those ancient foes if he didn’t know their potential.
Turning a corner, he sighted a male witch standing in the darkness. He could see a bow and several arrows attached to the witch’s back, and it looked like he was the same one that had shot at Zoan a while ago.
The witch had his back to him, and there were several villagers on their knees in front of him bleeding from the nose.
A sharp intake of breath was felt, and the wind roared as Aragon had already grabbed the witch by the neck. There was no remorse on his face, absolutely none as he was just about to kill the witch when it felt as if he was staring at a mirror. A reflection of himself.
The only difference this time was the reflection had ash hair and ash eyes.
The Witch stared as every bit of strength left Aragon, then instantly took advantage of it, pulled an arrow, and sunk it into Aragon’s chest.
"I’m not in control of myself. Make sure you kill me when next you get the chance, Brother." Elliot said to his brother.
