Chapter 184: Torture.

"Aren’t you scared? Aren’t you scared of what will happen? Aren’t you scared of seeing what’s outside the box? Why can’t you just stay in here? Why do you have to keep protecting me? Why...! Why can’t I be the one to... I know you’re shaking with fear, so why do you keep going on?!" Raziah kept on whispering to herself as Savannah gently opened the small hole at the top, and jumped out.

Everyone was leaving her.

Her father, mother... And now it’s Savannah. Everyone she holds dear is sacrificing their life for an idiot like her when she knows she’s nothing. Why go to such extreme lengths? Why? Why?!

As soon as Savannah stepped out of the box, the Hissing of the Vampires increased. Although Raziah did not hear any human cries that sounded like Savannah, she knew Savannah was already gone.

Raziah broke down again, her heart so heavy she fell to the ground while clutching her chest and struggling for air. Meanwhile, Malcolm quickly stirred the box Through the opening Savannah’s sacrifice had created and got them out of there as fast as they could go.

One could see tears also streaming down Malcolm’s face.

"No...no...," Raziah quaked, "No...!"

"I’ll get us out of here." Malcolm said, glancing back to see Raziah curled up into a ball, sobbing, "I’m so sorry," He whispered.

They continued to move diligently, avoiding any path that would cause them trouble. Malcolm at first, had thought about following the Forest path, but he had later changed his mind because he was getting dangerous vibes from the forest. The Forest was most likely where the creatures were coming from.

And now, they had no other choice but to pass through town. Hopefully, they would be able to make it out alive as long as they remained quiet and kept a low profile while avoiding the Vampires.

As they did, the Magic that was keeping the box from being see-through from the outside dissipated, making the whole place completely transparent to them.

At first, Raziah almost screamed out her lungs thinking this was the end, and the box had completely run out of power but Malcolm assured her that no harm would come to them.

Normally, Malcolm was the only one who could see everything going on outside since he was the one controlling their movements, but now they could both see everything from what was behind them, to what was in front of them.

Raziah was speechless. Almost everywhere around them was burning. There were so many bodies on the ground, covered in their own blood reminding her of her father over and over again. As they kept going, Raziah recognized some of them as the less privileged she had fed many times, and the strangers she usually played games with.

Houses were falling, and groans were coming from several directions around them. The sight was nothing short of destruction.

Raziah began to ask herself whether this was truly the Kaneria or maybe they’d been teleported somewhere else.

"Close your eyes. Raziah, stop looking...,"

But Raziah could not take her eyes off the scenery. She couldn’t even cry anymore. Her legs gave out, and she fell on one knee, shaking like a wet cat.

"We’ll be out of here soon, I promise,"

They had just turned a corner when Malcolm came to another halt. Raziah needn’t even ask what was wrong before a very strong and toe-curling presence happened to be standing not too far away from them. Malcolm felt like if he moved even the slightest again, the person giving out such maniacal and evil aura would spot them immediately.

This person had to be different than the creatures they’ve encountered so far, and how can a person’s presence be so strong? It surpassed anything or anyone else’s Malcolm has ever come across in his life.

Several feet away from there stood a man. The man was shirtless, heavily built and his long black hair had fallen over his face.

Lying close to the shirtless man, gasping for air...was Sir Galland. From his neck and below was alright, but his neck above...was a pool of blood. It was as if his head had been crushed.

The shirtless man had someone hanging from his hands, his hand wrapped tightly around her neck, cutting off her air supply.

Malcolm did not hesitate to leave where he sat and rush over to grab Raziah, wrapping his arm around her body to keep her still, while the other was pressed tightly over her mouth to silence her.

A second later, and Malcolm was glad he had done just that as Raziah’s muffled scream vibrated over his palm to see that it was her mother who was being manhandled by whoever that man was.

"Don’t look, Raziah! Please, don’t look!" Malcolm pleaded, repeating the words close to her ear but there was no getting to her anymore.

Raziah fought against his hold. He knew the minute he let go she would rush out of the box to help her mother, but that would just be a deathly act and he would never let that happen.

"Unfortunately for you...," The Shirtless man said, and his voice was so deep and fearful it had Raziah quieting down, grabbing Malcolm’s arm as if to keep herself safe.

Aragon’s hand tightened around the Queen’s neck, continuing to squeeze the life out of her, "I am only human, so you cannot control me like you did the others." A deranged chuckle left his lips, shooting chills up the children’s spines.

"I probably wouldn’t have been this strong... But it’s all thanks to you. Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten about me so soon, hmm?"

The Queen said nothing. The kingdom was silent for a moment, and it seemed like Aragon did not like that one bit. In the blink of an eye, torrent of screams of torture left the Queen’s lips and she wriggled against his hold, hell reflecting in her eyes as the pain gripped her like nothing else could.

It happened so fast that the children did not know what happened until they saw so much blood rolling all over the Queen’s clothes and more oozing out of where her arm should have been.

And in Aragon’s other hand, he was holding the Queen’s hand which he had ripped off her shoulders.

Amidst her scream, Aragon smiled, "Ah, now that’s better."

"Mother...," Raziah sat there with Malcolm still holding her to him very tight. Her body felt paralyzed. Her brain was still trying to process what she was seeing.

"Don’t die on me so fast. There’s still so much to do,"

Aragon then loosened his hold on her, and her body slipped and fell to the ground. Raziah could see her mother holding back another scream, her body being hit with wave after wave of pain.

"And now, you’re quiet again!" Aragon said and slammed his foot down on one of Mirabai’s legs and the bone there snapped in half loudly, followed by more torrent of screams and cries from the queen’s lips. Her eyes were constricted with so much pain, and it was breaking Raziah’s heart.

How could this be happening?!

"And now, for the other leg...," Aragon said, raising his foot again.

Malcolm had to close his eyes tightly this time. He couldn’t bear to watch this anymore. If only he could close Raziah’s eyes, but he only had two arms and if he dared let go of her, she would either force herself out of his grip or end up screaming.

"Raziah, please close your eyes. It’s enough...Stop watching..." He begged with a soft voice, "You’re going to get scarred! Don’t do this to yourself...,"

And then, Aragon’s leg came down on Mirabai’s.

"Wait!"

Everyone looked in anticipation and anxiety to see Harlow coming from the outside side. She looked half dead...and she was not alone.
