The second she heard his voice, every trace of worry and unease disappeared from her physically, and she maintained that apathetic look from then on. Zoan was wearing a long black cloak from head to toe, and she could tell the material was expensive and thick. Locks of white hair fell down the front of his face as he jumped down from the tree he had been sitting on, landing firmly on his feet with both hands buried in his pocket.
Every inch of his skin was properly covered, except his face of course. As he walked towards her, Raziah pointed her sword at him with one hand, while still holding Caius against her with the other, the clear warning in her eyes telling him not to even think about coming too close.
"You know...you’re supposed to ask me what I want first. Don’t just keep staring." He pronounced, coming to a halt when the tip of the sword was just about to graze his chest. He let his eyes wander to the dried blood around her body, then he pointed out the injury again, "You gonna take care of that? You need a doctor, urgently,"
Raziah had long told herself that things would either become better, or get so much worse and the latter had just occurred. Why did he have to look so much like her husband? It’s frustrating to leave just not to see his face, then run Into someone that looks nothing much less than him. At least he was a little better to bear than his Majesty, or else she would have struck him by now, "Don’t talk to me." She said to him, taking a step back as she retracted her sword while watching his well.
Once she was at a safe distance, she spun around and left him standing there to a better place where she could truly be alone. But Raziah almost gasped when she found Zoan standing right in front of her again, and halted in her movement. She blinked several times to make sure her eyes weren’t deceiving her. Was he that fast of a runner? Is there a shortcut or something?
Not planning to go too deep Into the forest, she turned around and walked back, leaving him standing there. And this time when she found him already back to the first spot he was, Raziah was almost convinced that Zoan had a twin too. How could...No way, even if he had ran...The man didn’t look out of breath at all!
"I’ll be seeing you again sooner than you think." He spoke again, and she just stared at his legs for the whole while. No, he can’t be in two places at once, there’s just no way that’s possible right? "Make sure you don’t give out on me, Princess," His eyes danced with something she couldn’t make out directly, like something unknown that was waiting for her.
And right before her very eyes, he was gone in a flash.
Raziah thought he had disappeared at first when almost at the same time a sudden wind blew past her face, and her heart leaped. He had just ran past her w that terrifying speed that reminded her of her husband and those drugged people she had fought against, and she didn’t like it.
She didn’t like it one bit.
She mostly didn’t like the fact that her gut kept telling her it wasn’t a drug that gave them those inhuman powers, and hated it even more that she was starting to believe herself.
.
.
.
The look in their eyes as they watched the Princess step back out of the forest was alarming. It looked like they were waiting for her to come back, and Raziah almost swallowed when she felt his Majesty’s eyes on her too. It was fatally prickling at her back and the fact that she already knew all of them didn’t help her calm down.
But she would have to force herself to.
Her head snapped to the river again, and she could see the currents were rushing again. Waves were beginning to form, crashing by the shore. The fireflies that filled up the place in the night were now gone, and the bright morning sun on the water didn’t just give it a golden hue, it made it even more breathtaking with a bright golden hue.
"You know I told you some drugs were used to alter their physicality." Acacia began as she walked up to her, and in as much as Raziah badly didn’t want to turn her gaze away from the fall, she had to at some point. Facing the sorceress, she subconsciously gripped Caius a little tighter for what might come next.
"yes," Raziah responded.
"That was the only excuse I could give at the moment. I didn’t think I could reveal it to you when his Majesty hasn’t given the order yet." Acacia grinded her teeth together as they began to itch again. She stopped in front of Raziah, and this time her eyes didn’t hold Any playful intent in them.
She was dead serious.
If Raziah’s hands were trembling softly before, they definitely were now.
"I’m sure someone like you has read about us before, though we are a myth to many, and we would like to keep it that way. But since you fought alongside us selflessly, you’ve proven that you’re worthy enough to know about the secret we keep away from many,"
If not for her will and strong legs, she would have taken a cautious step back at that second.
Acacia then moved and stood beside the princess, leaning sideways to place an elbow on her shoulders. She was already aware of how strong the princess was, and she knew Raziah would be able to handle the news, but she still wanted to catch every expression that would pass that indifferent face of hers, those eyes that held nothing but an immense amount of cold.
She couldn’t wait to see them warm up and widen under this mind-blowing news that would definitely make Raziah’s jaw drop.
"Well, I’m a little different from them since I don’t need IT to survive. And Apart from the two dominant species around, excluding humans, I personally think there are more hiding out there, yet unseen. I’m sure maybe once in a while, you might have seen something that didn’t look normal, or someone that did something against natural laws." Acacia’s face was drawing to Raziah’s, while Raziah’s relentlessly kept her eyes straight ahead.
The princess was itching to touch her other hand and feel her wristband that was on, but that might reveal just how nervous she was feeling on the inside. She would have already done it subconsciously if not that she was holding Caius, and thankfully Acacia’s breath that was now on her face was enough warning for her to keep he legs firmly to the ground, and show no fear for what was drawing closer.
"Taj, Indah, will you do us the honor of showing her so she would believe it all at once?" Tatiana called out to the warriors, and their eyes flew to Aragon’s whose eyes were still a sea of swirling darkness. Noting that he wasn’t disapproving, they both stepped forward.
Taj walked up to a huge rock just by the side. It was almost seven times his size and looked thick as hell.
"Now this isn’t a trick, watch closely," Acacia whispered to her, and Raziah instantly wished in her heart that everything would turn into a blur. She didn’t want to see what he would do with the rock, and there was a simple solution which was for her to close her eyes, and she knew it.
But...she made her decision when she still kept her eyes open, and witnessed the topic she had been subconsciously avoiding from day one. Taj had just lifted the rock so easily above his head with one arm and even took the time to walk around a little bit with it. His eyes had transitioned into a red shade, and the view seemed so normal to everyone around her.
Even when Taj ran past her with superhuman speed, still holding the stone and back again in less than two seconds, there wasn’t even a gasp from their mouth.
"If you’ve heard of the word ’Vampire’ before, then welcome to our very complicated world..." Tatiana apprised, just at the same time Taj flung the rock effortlessly somewhere far away from them, and it landed, and plunged into the currents of water.
Indah suddenly began floating, moving higher and higher till she was standing in mid-air with nothing holding her up. Her eyes glowed soft purple, and her long ponytail gingerbread hair magically untied itself and floated angelically behind her. The wind began picking up around her, rotating clockwise while dancing with her clothes.
"And as you can see, we also have Witches. We are the two dominant species that are scattered all over the world. We have those who were born with the powers, some who were turned, and some who were chosen to be non-human. We also have rogues which are those who have gone mad with their powers, and have this mentality that they can pull off whatever they feel like, we have the lost ones that do not know what to do with themselves and have been looking for ways day and night to get rid of their powers - and then we have the normal ones like us who accepted this god-like gift, and use it for what we think is best,"
"Not what’s good?" Raziah asked, finally turning to stare at the sorceress who had just finished speaking, her cold eyes breaking through Acacia’s skin. There was now something slightly, almost unnoticeably different about her eyes.
"It’s the same thing," Acacia replied.
"Hardly." Raziah turned back to Indah who was back to the solid ground again, and her hair was back in its ponytail. From Indah, she moved to hold everyone’s gazes smoothly with that uncaring look in her eyes, till she got to Aragon’s.
Vampires...and witches...
What was he?
