@tunivien, thank you so much for making my day with the Golden ticket!
Raziah had arrived just in time. They had followed the noise that kept coming from one part of the cave, which had turned out to be the place they were looking for. Dead bodies were lying across the floor, blood was everywhere and there were severed body parts. But that wasn’t Raziah’s concern because she could only hear Caius screaming at the moment, and was aching to take him away from there.
They came in sprinting into the huge cave room where Zoan was already off to take Caius. Felix was already finishing off the threats with him, and Malcolm still looked busy with the vampire he was battling it out with. The atmosphere was tense, but Raziah was actually expecting denser air.
She glanced around one more time, right before that prickling feeling came down on her back once again. Everything was going just fine, which was creeping her out because it was going a little too fine. She recalled her vision, and it was exactly as she saw it.
Caius was inbounded with heavy chains to the wall, blood streaking down his head but Raziah couldn’t find anyone around that would haul a spear at him. Nonetheless, she had to trust her instincts to reach him as soon as possible.
That was when Caius suddenly stopped screaming, and something extremely baffling happened to him right in front of her eyes. Even Zoan had paused to watch the unbelievable moment, and Raziah’s eyes widened slightly. Wait a minute....!
Caius...Is a Lazarus, right? 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
In a little way, a few things about him made some sense to her. Raziah’s heart almost lurched out of her chest as the intense realization finally hit her, and there was absolutely no way she could keep denying this when the evidence was all over her face. Caius was like a living and breathing proof, and she could now see the true meaning as to why he had suddenly awakened and started vanishing. Now that she thought about it this much, whenever he sleepwalks and disappears, he always finds a way to get to her.
They’ve always ran into each other whenever that happens to him, and she had this feeling that there was a deep meaning as to why his legs always brought him to her.
Caius’s Blood as a Lazarus awakened... because she also did.
The day she had saved Maria...that was when it all started.
She brought out a part of her that she didn’t know existed, and that started the reaction. That must be the same day Caius awakened too, and his powers are slowly unraveling themselves, just like hers. Her bloodline and Caius’s aren’t related in any way by blood, but they have an unbreakable bond.
So once again, This was all her fault, right? Caius finding himself in this strange and frightening position was her fault. He would have just been a normal boy living his peaceful life, but... Maria’s condition had pushed her over her limit and that had caused a spark in him also. And for the Vampires to know about his existence means they have something to do with him, and the fact that they all want to get rid of him means his kind could either be a threat to them, or it could be a threat to something that was to come.
Everything was so complicated right now that Raziah felt like her head was about to explode. The more she thought about the circumstances around it, the deeper the meaning of every discovery gets.
She gave a quick glance at the full moon pouring in through the hole at the highest height of the cave, and she immediately reeked of hatred and disgust. Nothing good comes from a full moon. She knows all too well though it’s been long she saw one herself since she hardly leaves the castle or her room during one. Raziah has always seen the full moon as a sign of a bad omen coming her way, and seeing as it looked like Caius was somehow being sacrificed to it didn’t help with her feeling better about it.
She was just about to get to Zoan with Aletta still right behind her when she caught something shiny, sharp, and dark shooting straight past her eyes. It came as a blur at first, moving Incredibly fast but that sharp tip was something she had seen before.
Her vision.
That spear.
And in that blur, she threw her hands out to get a hold of the spear before it got to Caius. She pulled back with everything because that spear had no other destination but Caius’s chest, and she doubted if the boy right now could suddenly break out of his chains and dodge or something. It wasn’t just any spear though...
It was one with a spinning tip, moving faster than anything. It was the type of spear that wouldn’t just pierce through your chest, but the momentum of the rotation tip would have it tearing through your whole chest and shooting out through your back.
She was able to grip the edge right before it flew past, and it dragged across her hand, the incredible friction that came with it was hurting her already broken fingers. They were already standing close to Caius, up the altar when Raziah felt another hand wrap around hers to keep reducing the flight speed of the spear.
Whoever had thrown it had to be incredibly strong because even her strength right now and Aletta’s combined wasn’t enough to stop it, and horror filled both women’s eyes when the spear suddenly grew heavier and faster, pulling them along like it had suddenly taken a mind of its own.
The rotating end spun faster than before, and Raziah could feel her fingers slipping away from the spear, but she still held on very tightly and dragged her weight backward to lighten the force... but it still wasn’t working. Zoan could be seen already tearing away the chains around Caius’s body with his bare hands as fast as possible.
A cry of sheer terror racked Raziah’s belly as she witnessed the spear just an inch away from hitting its target. An inch away had her heart crashing into pieces, till something that Looked like a palm out of nowhere came in between the spear and Caius’s chest.
That palm...was very, very familiar.
