Chapter 231 Riding Motorcycles Together

Gao Baoliang arrived on his motorcycle. He told her to get on and take her to find Jiang Ning, which was only natural.

But when the woman's face pressed against his back, he was still a little caught off guard.

My heart was pounding in my throat, and my breathing became erratic.

He hurriedly slowed down.

Yang Lu showed no intention of letting go.

At such high speeds, what if the car falls off?

I hugged him as if I were hugging a pillow.

After more than twenty agonizing minutes, Gao Baoliang finally stopped the car and breathed a sigh of relief.

"arrive."

His voice was slightly hoarse due to his increased body temperature.

Yang Lu jumped off the motorcycle and patted her chest: "It was my first time riding a motorcycle, and it was quite exciting."

Gao Baoliang thought to himself that this was the first time he had given a girl a ride, and it was quite exciting.

After calming himself down, Gao Baoliang led Yang Lu into Jiang Ning's shop.

Jiang Ning came down from the second floor, saw them, and smiled:

"I just arrived recently and gave the workers a few instructions. This must be the leader from the Urban Construction Bureau, right?"

She reached out and shook hands with Yang Lu.

Yang Lu smiled and said, "I'm not a leader, just call me Xiao Yang."

She observed that her other colleagues were all similarly modest.

Jiang Ning invited her to visit various places.

"I'll still call you Xiaolu, it sounds more friendly. You can keep things professional at work, but we can be friends in private."

As she spoke, she took out some pre-prepared soft drinks and stuffed them into their hands.

Yang Lu immediately felt that Jiang Ning was very kind to her, and felt like she was being taken care of by an older sister.

Moreover, having heard Gao Baoliang mention her heroic deeds, he already had a somewhat biased view of her.

A few minutes later, after looking at the house and the property certificate provided by Jiang Ning, she looked at Gao Baoliang and said:

"No problem. I can go back and organize the materials, issue a certificate, and you can take it to the Administration for Industry and Commerce for registration."

After finishing her business, she soon headed outside.

Jiang Ning had to stay behind to oversee the renovations and reminded Gao Baoliang to treat Yang Lu to lunch.

Yang Lu is serious yet lively, and quite cute.

Once outside, Yang Lu shielded her eyes from the sun with her hand.

"The sun is quite strong at noon, let's find a place to eat nearby, but it's on me."

The two walked along the street, and she happened to see the bakery.

I glanced at it twice and was drawn to a small, exquisitely designed cake inside.

She has loved sweets since she was a child, and she feels that just one bite of something sweet can make her happy all day.

However, Gao Baoliang, being a grown man, probably doesn't like to eat these kinds of things.

She walked a little further and entered a popular restaurant.

Yang Lu picked up the menu, ready to let Gao Bao order the highlights.

Gao Baoliang gave it to her, saying, "You can have it, I'll eat whatever I want."

After she finished ordering, he added, "Do you have fried noodles here?"

The waiter shook his head apologetically: "I'm sorry, we don't have that."

While waiting for the food to be served, he suddenly stood up, said he was going out for a bit, and quickly left.

Yang Lu's expression froze slightly, her feelings a mix of emotions.

She has been on blind dates with many people and eaten with them.

Last time, that colleague from the Urban Construction Bureau left in the same way.

Even though I know I angered them and that's why they left, I still feel a little bad.

As the dishes she ordered arrived one after another, she looked at the dishes, which looked quite appetizing, but suddenly lost her appetite.

Clutching the bag tightly in her hand, feeling down, she was about to go to pay when Gao Baoliang returned carrying a small cake box.

"This packaging was quite troublesome, so I had to wait a while."

He took a cute little cake out of the paper bag and pushed it in front of her.

It was the one she had just seen.

Yang Lu's lips trembled slightly, a mixture of surprise and delight, before a smile gradually spread across her face.

"Why did you think of buying it? The things at this bakery are very expensive."

Gao Baoliang picked up some food with his chopsticks, a smile playing on his lips.

"This cake looks beautiful; it must have taken a lot of effort to make, so it's worth the price."

Yang Lu immediately grinned happily and carefully put the cake away.

"This cake is so precious, I want to take it back and enjoy it properly."

She picked up some food and started eating.

The two talked about the registration for a while, and Yang Lu suddenly remembered the photo from yesterday and took out Gao Baoliang's photo from her bag.

"Here's your photo, put it away."

Gao Baoliang took the photo. In the black and white photo, he was holding his hands up, smiling and looking at the camera. The bright light from the light bulb shone on his face, creating a unique light and shadow effect, which was quite handsome.

The background was her bed and curtains, and he immediately added a pink hue to the photo.

This is his first single photo. He had previously taken a family photo together at home, and he looked quite silly in the picture.

"Your photography skills are quite good." He happily put it in his pocket.

Yang Lu smiled, biting her lip. "Thank you for the compliment. Since I gave you the photos, could you come with me to the police station?"

Gao Baoliang didn't know why she wanted to go to the police station, and stared at her with a puzzled look.

Yang Lu hurriedly explained:

"Here's the thing, I just happened to take photos of those two people yesterday, and I want to report it to the police."

Gao Baoliang understood immediately after hearing what she said, but he didn't understand why she would create this trouble for herself.

"Are you really sure? After all, without evidence, it's difficult to file a case, and you're likely to face retaliation."

While this may sound realistic, he had worked as a criminal investigator and knew the helplessness of those handling cases.

Yang Lu nodded emphatically, "Even if they can't file a case, having the police contact them once is a deterrent. Otherwise, they will extend their clutches to more women."

Gao Baoliang laughed: "You should become a reporter for a legal program."

"Okay, I'll go with you."

After the two finished their meal, Gao Baoliang paid the bill and led her towards the motorcycle.

Jiang Ning was sitting by the window of the bakery, drinking coffee and watching the street scene, when she saw the two people pass by outside.

Gao Baoliang stood outside Yang Lu, shielding her from oncoming pedestrians, and walked much slower than he usually did.

Jiang Ning thought to herself, "When did he become so good at taking care of people? It's really surprising."

A while later, she saw Yang Lu get into Gao Baoliang's car again, which she found even more unbelievable.

She witnessed the love story of Gao Baoliang and Meng Jiao.

He used to be a rough man, and Meng Jiao often complained to him that he didn't care about her feelings at all.

He really wanted to do something with her, but he could never quite figure out what Meng Jiao needed.

To put it bluntly, in front of Meng Jiao, he was just a somewhat insecure and sensitive straight man.

Gao Baoliang didn't think too much about it; he simply felt that Yang Lu's behavior was quite righteous.

I accompanied her to the police station and she gave a statement to the police.

After listening to Yang Lu's description of the incident and looking at the photos she was holding, the police immediately called out their superiors.

"Comrade, you've really helped us a lot! There have been several cases of indecent assault against women by the lake recently, and we've been struggling to find the suspects. Your photos have made great strides in our investigation!"

The leader shook Yang Lu's hand, expressing his deepest gratitude.

Yang Lu glanced at Gao Baoliang and smiled, her eyes crinkling.
