Chapter 127 Lanlock's Manuscript

Cyrus saw a cross-eyed goblin roughly grab the manuscripts. He had a hideous face and was less than one meter tall. He stood on a high, gold-plated platform and looked arrogantly at the other goblins who were looking up at him.

From Doklo's memory, Cyrus learned that the cross-eyed goblin was the current leader of the Goblin Brotherhood, Bodrick.

The Brotherhood of Goblins, or BOG, is a radical group that advocates for goblin rights, and like the other goblins in the group, Bodrick is a radical.

He grabbed the manuscript and paced back and forth on the high platform like a proud rooster, as if this would make him look tall enough. But in fact, his posture looked ridiculous.

Of course, the goblins who follow him don't think so.

Cyrus seemed to have strayed into the only color in the gray world, out of place yet definitely blending into this group of phantoms. He walked among the fairies, and all the fairies his body touched dispersed like smoke, and when he left, they gathered together again.

The greedy eyes of every fairy were filled with longing and admiration at this moment.

"Brothers! Look at this!" Bodrick held up Lanlock's manuscript. All the goblins' eyes were drawn to him and stayed on the parchment scroll that looked quite old.

"Guess what this is?" There was a hint of teasing in his eyes. Before the fairies could answer, he immediately gave the answer, "This is something left behind by the 'great fairy' Lanlock."

To Cyrus's surprise, the goblins immediately changed their expressions to anger when Lanlock was mentioned. They clenched their fists tightly, and their sharp nails pierced into the rough skin.

"That traitor!"

"fraud!"

"Thief!"

The curses rose and fell among the hundreds of goblins like waves, and were continuous like the waves of the sea. Cyrus saw that Doklo's expression seemed to want to tear Lanlock into pieces.

Even if he hadn't played the game much, he knew that Lanlock was the leader of the goblins at the time, but now, the situation was obviously different.

At least today, more than a hundred years later, Lanlock has become a being despised by the goblins. Even the title of the so-called "big goblin" is a joke and full of irony.

He really wanted to know what had caused all this to happen, and fortunately, Bo Derek generously explained it "for him".

"That's right! It's that liar, that betrayer! The despicable thief who took away our precious goblin treasures and disappeared without a trace!" Bodrick angrily threw the manuscript in his hand heavily to the ground, as if throwing away a pile of garbage! "He said that we goblins don't need to seek magic wands, but can get more powerful power than wizards' magic, but what's the result? This so-called ancient magic is just a scam!"

Is ancient magic just a hoax?

Cyrus was a little incredulous.

“That is not magic that ordinary people can learn. We can’t learn it, Lanlock can’t learn it, and even those wizards rarely master the secrets of ancient magic.

"It was just for these illusory things! We spent all our money to build a powerful fairy armor. It could have led us to glory, led us to defeat the wizard, and take back everything that belonged to us! But in the end, it was stolen by that liar!"

Bo Derek was furious.

The goblins had not staged a major rebellion since their rebellion in the 18th century, and the Ministry thought they had quelled their discontent by ceding full control of Gringotts to the goblins.

But in reality, a Gringotts only temporarily satisfied their desires.

Having lost their armor, the goblins had to "quiet down" again and wait for the next suitable opportunity.

It can be said that Lanlock is the sinner of the goblins, a traitor and a thief who prevented the goblins from replacing wizards! "I know some of us have followed him before—"

Bodrick held up a finger, his finger was like a dry, peeling branch, and his nail was thick and looked like the shell of a nut. As his finger passed over every goblin present, some of them who looked very old lowered their heads in shame.

"Don't mind me, brothers. You were just deceived by him." Bodrick's anger disappeared, or at least it seemed to disappear. His calm words were a comfort to the ashamed goblins, and even more of a restraint, a magic that was not magic.

Because a resolute determination immediately flashed in those people's eyes.

"Lanlock is a greedy thief. He kept the secrets of ancient magic to himself and stole our treasures! Perhaps until now, he is still in a corner constantly caressing the precious treasures, giving full play to his powerful magical abilities."

"But..." One of the goblins stretched out his hand tremblingly, "You said that magic is just a hoax, and no one can learn it."

The goblins were quiet.

"Yes, I did." Bodrick nodded solemnly, "In fact, I always thought so before I found Lanlock's manuscript."

"So, ancient magic is real? Lanlock's manuscript records the secrets of how to control that kind of magic?" Many fairies' eyes lit up, and the desires in their hearts began to stir again.

"Perhaps, but why should I make the same mistake again?" Bodrick asked.

His words calmed the goblins down a bit.

"Even if we follow Lanlock's footsteps to search for ancient magic, perhaps it will be in vain in the end. Brothers! I believe that sooner or later we will be able to explore the mystery, but not now, but when we truly regain our status as fairies!"

Bodrick's idea was simple. Lanlock's manuscript might be real, and ancient magic might indeed exist, but for a goblin who didn't even have a wand, it was like a thirsty traveler stuck in the desert encountering a pile of biscuits.

Food is of course necessary, but what they need more now is water.

What is needed more is a magic wand that can cast magic.

"I believe that wizards will be interested in it. As a bargaining chip, I think we can ask for the wand."

"You mean, give clues to ancient magic to wizards?" asked a goblin dissatisfiedly.

Bo Derick clearly said "deal" but to them, it sounded like he was saying "free of charge".

"Of course not, Splayed Legs." Bodrick smiled cunningly, "I want to remind you not to forget the fire dragons I raised!"

Updated. Sorry for being a little late. I was a little busy with the company's team building.
