Chapter 32 Cooking

Tingting took out 10 bags of flour from her spatial storage, preparing to steam buns and make dumplings. She hadn't had any leftover steamed buns and dumplings from before.

We're almost out of food now, so let's make some extra to stock up. It's winter anyway, so we're just killing time and can use it to prepare for next year.

The two of them are now adding yeast and water to the rice flour and starting to knead the dough, working together as a team.

I plan to make enough steamed buns for a year, so I can take them out whenever I want to eat them. Right now, there's nowhere to buy steamed buns if you want to eat them.

They steamed the food pot by pot, and since their house was far from the village, no one noticed.

They took out bags from the space, packed them up one by one, and placed them on the unused shelves in the space. These 10 bags of flour yielded 3,500 steamed buns.

The two planned to continue the next day. Jianjun said to Tingting, "This is too tiring. Let's continue working tomorrow. Let's eat something first."

We grabbed a takeout bowl of braised beef brisket with tomatoes, and the two of us enjoyed it with steamed buns we had made ourselves. I felt the homemade buns were even more delicious than the meat.

When Jianjun heard Tingting say that, he laughed and said, "Labor is the most glorious thing, let's continue working tomorrow."

"Tomorrow, let's take out one of the pigs we bought in the countryside. The two of us will make steamed buns and stew. There's still a lot left, and I want to make everything. We can just take some out when we're done eating, which is very convenient."

The next day, the two of them were clearly addicted to cooking and tidying up, and they had a sense of satisfaction from hoarding things.

The next day, they took out another 30 bags of flour, ready to do something big. The two of them started cooking and kneading the dough.

Tingting took out a pig, and Jianjun started cutting the meat, preparing to chop it into minced meat, separating the ribs, pig intestines, and other parts and putting them into a basin.

After chopping the filling into two large bowls, Tingting started making steamed buns right away, and made a total of 7,000 steamed buns in the past two days.

After tidying up, she started making steamed buns and steaming them. Tingting took out all the pork belly she had caught last time, cut it into small pieces, put it in a storage bag, and stored it in her space, ready to take it out whenever she wanted to eat it.

After putting the steamed buns into their spatial storage, the two of them started drinking chicken soup. The fragrant soup was made from free-range chickens from the countryside, with ingredients such as goji berries. It was nourishing and replenishing, and the two of them were sweating profusely from eating it.

The two of them were still full of energy that evening and prepared to start making dumplings.

Tingting said to Jianjun, "I want to eat sauerkraut. Let's pickle some sauerkraut tomorrow. We bought so much cabbage last time; it's so delicious when we make dumplings or stews."

"Have some more, it'll be so refreshing. Don't keep talking about it, you're making me crave it," Jianjun said helplessly.

The two got right to work. Before the heavy snow, they were like hamsters preparing for winter, pickling 10 large vats of sauerkraut, making 7,000 steamed buns, 7,000 dumplings, and 10,000 steamed buns.

I stewed two large pots of pork ribs with green beans and potatoes, boiled corn, a big pot of braised pork, mutton soup, beef, and various chicken stews.

They have every way to cook it: shrimp stew, fish platter, crab platter, sugar pancakes, boiled eggs, boiled goose eggs, pickled duck eggs, and all kinds of porridge... They have stews, stir-fries, soups—you name it.

The young couple has been very busy lately, and it's fortunate that they've been staying home during the winter. If they were at home all the time, who knows what kind of gossip would be circulating.
