Chapter 222: Not very capable, but very arrogant

Beta didn't finish his words, but the expectation in his unfinished words was clearly discernible.

Mark paused while peeling the tea egg and asked calmly:

"You just said that for such a major incident, only two people from the Holy Light Church's investigation team came? For over a month, they found no other solutions besides suppression and isolation? And they didn't find any useful clues?"

Although Mark knew that his magic seemed to be more peculiar than the Holy Light magic, if the people specially sent by the Holy Light Church to resolve this incident could not handle it, it would be a waste of time to send him.

No matter how outrageous his magic power is, it is still a kind of magic within the rules of the Holy Dragon Continent.

Beta smiled bitterly, that smile full of helplessness:

"As far as I know, no. It's not just two people from the Church of Holy Light who came. It's said that they were led by two priests from the Holy City, and there were also more than a dozen priests from the Dragon Slayer City Church... But you also know the priests from Dragon Slayer City..."

He sighed and lowered his voice. "Honestly, Mr. Mark, if you think you can do it, even if there's a glimmer of hope, we're willing to do our best to cooperate. But if you also... find it difficult..."

He took a deep breath, his eyes becoming determined. "Then I have to make plans for my brothers in the group. We might leave Osborne Town with the Bucks. We can't stay here anymore."

His eyes swept over Captain Mad Wolf and Captain Silver Fox. Although the latter two did not speak, the heaviness in their eyes was exactly the same as Beta's.

Obviously, leaving has become their tacitly agreed upon alternative plan.

Just then—

"Bang!"

The oak door of Chunhui Hotel was suddenly thrown open, and the young swordsman Oak rushed in with a hot breath, his face full of incredible ecstasy, and his voice was a little cracked with excitement:

"Mad Wolf Boss! Mad Wolf Boss! It's lifted! The blockade has been lifted!"

The backyard suddenly became quiet, and all eyes were focused on Oak.

The Mad Wolf leader stood up and said, "Ok? What did you say? What was lifted?!"

Oak held his knees and gasped for breath, pointing to the north: "North... North! The blockade of the temporary camp has been lifted! The guards have withdrawn, and many people have come out!"

"How is this possible?!" Beta stood up suddenly, his face filled with extreme shock and disbelief. "They were on high alert yesterday! Have the people from the Magic Association and the Holy Light Church found a solution?"

"No, it's not them!" Oak shook his head vigorously, his face showing the excitement of witnessing a miracle. "It's the potion! No one would have thought that it was the pharmacist who solved the problem this time!"

"It's said to be the 'Holy Light Purification Potion' sent from the 'Holy Grace Magic Potion Shop' in Dragon Slaying City! It's free! The effects are amazing!"

"I saw a few nearly exhausted adventurers perched in a tree far outside the camp. After drinking the drink, the scary black lines disappeared and they felt refreshed!

"I heard it's the Lisbon family of Dragon Slayer City who's behind this! Father Linus of Dragon Slayer City distributed the medicine on his selfie board! Captain Edgar also agreed! It's like a holiday in the camp right now! Everyone who got better after taking the medicine has been released!"

Oak's words were like a bomb, detonating the originally gloomy discussions of the team leaders in the backyard!

There was a roar of ecstasy and disbelief.

The Mad Wolf leader slammed the table and laughed.

The frowns on the Silver Fox and the Buck Captains finally relaxed.

The shock on Beta's face was quickly replaced by surprise. "Really?! Oak, are you sure?! Those who drank the medicine...are you sure they're okay? What about follow-up observation?"

"It's absolutely true! Captain Beta!" Oak nodded vigorously. "Listen! There are cheers coming from the north! Father Linus of Dragon Slaying City has created a self-made medicine, and the holy light is shining! Everyone says this is a miracle drug that can cure it!"

The backyard was immersed in ecstasy.

Only Mark was still sitting there calmly, holding the peeled tea egg in his hand. There was no surprise in his deep eyes, only a look of calm thinking.

'Holy Grace Magic Pharmacy'? The Lisbon family? An instantly effective 'miracle drug'? The Dragon Slaying City priests approve its distribution?

No matter how you listen to it, it sounds like a rumor heard from others.

There are too many unreasonable things!

"Ok, are you sure that the 'Holy Light Purification Potion' was distributed by the priest of Dragon Slaying City?" Mark asked.

It was then that Oak noticed Mark in the corner, and his face showed even more surprise: "Mr. Mark! You're here too? That's great!"

He wiped the sweat from his forehead and nodded vigorously in response to Mark's question:

"It's true! Absolutely true! All the adventurers who walked out of the temporary camp said so. They all acted like they had been given a chance to live! They were all thanking Father Linus of Dragon Slayer City and the Lisbon family!"

He imitated the tone of those people, with a hint of excitement after surviving a disaster and a hint of disdain in his expression:

"They said that Brother Kyle and Sister Ruby, who were in charge of the camp before, were... uh, how should I put it, they were so chaotic! They didn't look like elite people from the Holy City at all!"

"They're so rigid in their approach, all they know is isolation. They're completely useless. On the other hand, Father Linus, a local priest from Dragon Slayer City, was so decisive and swift, he managed to get a miracle cure! Everyone says the 'experts' sent from the Holy City aren't as reliable as our own Dragon Slayer priests!"

Mark's eyes suddenly focused, and his fingers that were peeling the eggshell stopped completely. The smooth tea egg was unconsciously pinched between his fingers.

He raised his head, looked at Oak with a rather strange expression and asked, "Brother Kyle? The monk from the Holy City you said is Kyle Speen?"

"Yes! It's him!" Oak nodded without hesitation. "Brother Kyle Spence! I saw it clearly the other day! He's the priest you rescued in the mines of Stonehammer Town! Those adventurers were all talking about him, saying that he had little ability but was arrogant, and that this time he was outdone by Father Linus..."

Mark fell silent.

The noise in the backyard seemed to be blocked by an invisible membrane.

The laughter of Captain Mad Wolf, the anxious voices of Captain Beta and Captain Silver Fox confirming information in low voices, the relieved sigh of Captain Buck, the excited discussions of the mercenaries...all of this became a blurred background sound.

If the person sent by the Church of Holy Light was Kyle Spin, it would not be so surprising that this kind of thing would happen in the quarantine camp now.

Although he had only been in contact with Kyle for half a day, Mark could be sure that someone like Kyle was a true priest.

He may be a little stubborn, but his "Motherland" heart of saving people from suffering is definitely something that most monks of the Holy Light Church do not have.

And the dark erosion that couldn't be resolved even with his affinity for Holy Light was solved by the pharmacy just when he left the camp?

This coincidence was inevitably a bit too specific to Kyle.
