Chapter 174: Escape Cannot Solve the Problem
"If you don't want to stay with me, then leave. I'm not forcing you."
This was the first time Lin Shutang said such words in front of Li Yansheng. What was in her mind was not like this, but the words she said somehow became what they are now.
Seeing Li Yansheng's still calm face, I couldn't figure out what he was thinking.
Maybe because she was sick, she suddenly lost some strength and said weakly: "You get out!"
Li Yansheng didn't say anything. He waited for Lin Shutang to finish the medicine, then stood up and left with the cup.
After he went out, the person who came in was Aunt Lu.
Seeing that she was unhappy, Aunt Lu opened her mouth, but noticed that there was some fatigue around Lin Shutang's eyes, and did not say anything.
After nearly an hour, Lin Shutang's fever subsided. Aunt Lu walked out of the master bedroom, closed the door, and saw that the study door was open and the light was still on, so she walked over.
In the study, Li Yansheng was leaning back in his chair with his eyes closed. It was unclear whether he was asleep or not. There were faint dark circles around his eyes from fatigue.
He opened his eyes when he heard footsteps at the door.
"Sir, my wife's fever has subsided and she just fell asleep."
Li Yansheng rubbed his swollen brows and said, "Okay, it's so late, you should go and rest first. I'll give you a day off tomorrow morning, so you don't have to come."
"Thank you, sir." Aunt Lu turned around, hesitated for a moment, and then looked back: "Sir, there are some things that, as an employee, I shouldn't mention. Now, let me tell you my opinion. The wife is still young, and there are many things she may not understand if you don't tell her."
Li Yansheng paused for a few seconds while cleaning the table: "I see, thank you."
The next morning, when Lin Shutang woke up, it was already past nine. She turned her head to look at the place next to her. The dent in the pillow was not very obvious, but it was obvious that someone had slept there last night.
She stared at the pillow for a moment, then stood up. She no longer felt any discomfort, except for the fever, which left her feeling weak.
After washing up, she went downstairs. There was porridge on the table, but Aunt Lu was nowhere to be seen.
Just as I was wondering where everyone had gone, I saw Li Yansheng coming in from outside. He was wearing a sports suit and asked, "Are you hungry?"
Lin Shutang nodded, "A little bit." Then he turned his head away and didn't look at Li Yansheng.
She still had the image of what she had said to Li Yansheng last night in her mind, and now she wasn't sure how to face him. Those words seemed a bit unreasonable.
Lin Shutang was struggling over whether to apologize to Li Yansheng when he saw him go upstairs, probably to change his clothes.
About five minutes later, Li Yansheng changed his clothes and went downstairs, but instead of going to the company, he sat next to it.
Lin Shutang thought that Li Yansheng probably had something to say to him, so he lowered his head and poked at the porridge in the bowl from time to time, without taking another spoonful for a long time.
She was absent-minded and didn't notice that the porridge was on her hands. Li Yansheng took a tissue from the table and wiped it for her gently.
Lin Shutang finally came back to his senses, and then he heard the man's steady voice say: "When two people are together, the most important thing is communication. If you have any thoughts in your heart, you can tell me. Escaping will not solve the problem."
As he spoke, his eyes were fixed on her with a gentle gaze.
Lin Shutang almost wanted to say, "You gave me the house first, and then you used the cold shoulder. Didn't you just want to break up?" He opened his mouth, but didn't have the courage to say it. In the end, he just said, "No, I just wasn't feeling well yesterday. It was so hard."
Seeing that she didn't intend to say anything, Li Yansheng didn't force her, and his tone remained calm: "I was wrong to get angry with you yesterday."
