Chapter 175 "You've raised a daughter!"
Lin Shutang hadn't expected Li Yansheng to apologize. Most men of his status thought highly of themselves and rarely apologized. Even the Feng family, despite their status, had never heard either father or son apologize.
Moreover, what Li Yansheng did yesterday could not be considered as being angry.
Li Yansheng: "But, I hope that things like you not answering the phone won't happen again."
When he said this, it felt like he was talking to a subordinate. He didn't mean to lecture her, he was just used to it.
Lin Shutang was thinking about something and didn't pay much attention to his tone. But when she heard him say that she didn't answer the phone, she looked up in confusion: "Huh?"
She woke up this morning and saw her phone was turned off. She assumed it had been turned off since she got home last night. But from what Li Yansheng was saying, it seemed like it had been turned off since yesterday afternoon. So, was that why he was so angry yesterday evening?
"Okay." Lin Shutang hesitated, but ultimately didn't explain anything further. Because, she had indeed been trying to avoid him yesterday. Before turning off her phone, Li Yansheng had messaged her, asking where she was and saying he'd come pick her up, but she hadn't replied.
After saying that, Li Yansheng did not go to the company. He waited for Lin Shutang to finish breakfast before asking, "Do you have any plans for today?"
"Not yet."
Li Yansheng stood beside Lin Shutang and raised his hand to smooth back her hair that was about to slide into the bowl: "Then come with me to Chen's house later."
"good."
It was ten o'clock when the car arrived at Chen's house.
Along the way, the two seemed to have returned to their usual state, but Lin Shutang knew in his heart that this was not the case.
She didn't know what Li Yansheng was thinking. But she was still thinking about the house incident. The reason why Li Yansheng suddenly gave her the house had always been on her mind.
The car stopped. Lin Shutang walked towards the villa without waiting for Li Yansheng. Seeing the person standing at the door, he greeted him, "Mr. Chen."
Chen Jinyao was standing at the door. Seeing the girl with a gentle smile on her face, he was surprised by her arrival, but he didn't say anything. His expression was still polite as usual: "Wanxin and Xiaoling are in the garden. You can go find them."
Lin Shutang smiled and nodded, then changed his route to the garden.
Chen Jinyao looked away, not far away. He saw Li Yansheng park the car, open the back seat, and take something out. As they got closer, they realized it was a coat. It was pastel pink, clearly not his, so it was obvious whose it was.
Chen Jinyao looked at the clothes in his hands and said teasingly: "You have raised a daughter!"
Li Yansheng ignored his teasing and followed him into the room: "Where's the old man?"
"I went to play chess with someone next door."
After entering the living room, Li Yansheng put Lin Shutang's coat on the sofa and followed Chen Jinyao to the balcony. Seeing that he didn't deliver the clothes to the other person, Chen Jinyao raised an eyebrow: "Did you have a fight?"
Li Yansheng leaned his elbows on the marble balcony railing, a cigarette lit between his fingers. He lowered his eyes. From this vantage point, he could just see the garden below.
Seeing that he remained silent, Chen Jinyao smiled and said, "You are already so much older than others. If you don't make concessions, you might get cheated."
Li Yansheng then flicked the cigarette, and the bluish-white ash accumulated on the butt scattered: "Young girls, do you all like to keep things bottled up?"
Chen Jinyao didn't expect him to say such a thing, and was surprised. After all, Lin Shutang always seemed to be quite sensible.
"It's normal." He turned his head to look at Li Yansheng, and the joking expression on his face faded a little: "It's normal for girls of this age to have worries."
At this point, he suddenly seemed to have an idea and changed the subject: "Last time she went to Hong Kong City, was it you who asked someone to pick her up?"
