Chapter 3 Surgery

Chapter 3 Surgery

Feng Jiang's family agreed to Lin Shutang's condition of donating bone marrow, but at the same time, they also made a request to Lin Shutang.

"If you want to sever ties with the Feng family, that's fine. But return the child support you've received over the years. The Feng family has raised you, so you have to give something back!" Mrs. Feng's expression was very harsh when she said this.

She said, "The child support is 10 million."

Lin Shutang found it ironic to think that such words were spoken by his blood aunt.

The Feng family had adopted her with a purpose from the very beginning; their initial goal was her blood. Over the years, she had already repaid most of the debt owed her, and after this surgery, she was completely satisfied. Madam Feng could still say such things, showing she had no intention of saving face at all.

Lin Shutang did not argue with Mrs. Feng.

This was fine, as long as he could draw a clear line with the Feng family as soon as possible. Since he made up his mind that day, every extra second he stayed on the Feng family's household registration book was torture for Lin Shutang.

On the day of Feng Jiang's surgery, Lin Shutang's condition was barely okay, but not great either.

Before entering the operating room, Lin Shutang heard the doctor say, "Mr. Feng, please reconsider! Your son's condition is now stable, and there's still time to wait. Miss Lin's current physical condition is really not suitable for bone marrow donation. It won't take long, just another month of recuperation."

The Feng family doesn't care about her health, they just want Feng Jiang to be able to perform the surgery.

Feng Chengchuan said firmly: "Don't worry about it, just ensure my son's surgery. If anything happens to Lin Shutang, you are not responsible."

The doctor was angry, but there was nothing he could do.

All he could do was try his best to minimize the risk to the poor little girl during the operation.

However, despite the doctors' meticulous care, Lin Shutang's health wasn't great. The irregular blood draws over the past year had taken a toll on her health. Before the surgery, she had only 300 milliliters of her own blood, but the bone marrow blood drawn during the procedure was twice as much.

After the bone needle was inserted through her iliac bone, her own blood was transfused back into her body. She stared blankly at the bright red tube. The anesthetic was given, so she felt little pain. Ignoring the fact that her skin had become even paler than before, it seemed as if the surgery had had no adverse effects on her body.

The doctor prepared someone else's blood for Lin Shutang to use as a backup. Fortunately, it was not used in the end.

When Lin Shutang was pushed out of the operating room, he was already unconscious.

"Fortunately, Miss Lin is in good condition. She is just temporarily in a coma. She will gradually recover after a period of recuperation." The nurse told the Feng family about Lin Shutang's condition.

But no one cared about this. Feng's mother anxiously looked towards the operating room and interrupted the nurse: "When will my son be able to come out?"

The nurse looked at the family's actions and felt sorry for Lin Shutang, but she suppressed her anger and replied, "The operation went smoothly and she will be out soon."

"That's good."

As they spoke, the couple took a few steps forward. These two people, who usually claimed to be upper-class people, just leaned over the glass at the door of the ward, twisting their bodies to find a suitable posture, staring inside. The action was really not elegant.

No one gave Lin Shutang a glance. In the end, it was the medical staff who took Lin Shutang to the intensive care unit alone.

Her skin seemed to be even paler, almost blending into the white sheets, and her breathing was so shallow that one could hardly notice the rise and fall of her chest.

Assistant Fan sighed faintly, "She's been treated like a blood bag since she was little. I've never seen anyone more unlucky than Miss Lin."

Hearing this, Li Yansheng withdrew his gaze from the girl and glanced at his assistant.

Fan Sizhu thought that his boss was disliking him for talking too much, so he immediately shut up, fearing that his boss would think he was acting on his own.

He thought to himself that his job as an assistant was a bit like that of an ancient eunuch. He had to figure out the emperor's intentions and not let his master realize that he was plotting against him.

When passing by the hospital front desk, Li Yansheng received a small note.

Since the research involved business matters and was not public, the nurse didn't know Li Yansheng's identity, nor did she notice the hospital leaders following behind them. She went straight up to him and said, "Sir, this is the contact information for the girl you brought in last time. She wants to thank you in person. You can contact her through this number, or give me your contact information and I'll pass it on to her."

For a long moment, Li Yansheng didn't move, and the nurse's hand holding the note remained suspended in mid-air. Seeing this, the hospital leader accompanying the group on the investigation stepped forward and winked at the nurse, signaling her to remove it quickly.

Fan Sizhu thought that the boss never accepted contact information from unimportant people. He was about to step forward to take it, but his steps were stopped by Li Yansheng's action of taking the note.

Fan Sizhu was confused. What was the boss's attitude towards Miss Lin? Did he care about her or not?

At 11:40 pm, Li Yansheng ended a video conference that lasted more than two hours and leaned back on the sofa to rest.

"Boss, this is tomorrow's schedule."

"Well, put it on the table."

Fan Sizhuo usually gives Li Yansheng a copy of the next day's itinerary the night before and reminds him again the next morning. This way, if the boss has other plans, they can make adjustments in time.

Li Yansheng didn't eat much at night, so his assistant asked, "Do you need a midnight snack?"

"Need not."

Seeing the boss closing his eyes and pinching his brows to relieve his fatigue, the assistant respectfully withdrew.

Most wealthy people work hard, not effortlessly as many people assume. The harder they work, the more capital they accumulate. The more capital they accumulate, the harder they work. It's a cyclical process.

Li Yansheng rested in his chair for a few minutes before getting up and heading to the balcony with his lighter. After the sharp metallic sound, smoke spread out, eventually disappearing into the darkness.

In all aspects, Li Yansheng is not a person who is obsessed with desires, including smoking.

Only after a busy work day would he light one or two to relieve his fatigue.

He held a note in his hand, with the words "Lin Shutang" written on it, along with a string of contact information. The handwriting was beautiful, but it lacked some strength, making it seem frivolous.

It was a cardboard box with the words "oral liquid" written on the back. I guess he didn't have time to find paper, so he tore up the medicine box and wrote on it.

The balcony light was cold, and in that light, the pale cigarette smoke took on a misty white. Inexplicably, a similarly pale, bloodless face surfaced in Li Yansheng's mind.

Ten minutes later, he turned around, put out his cigarette in the ashtray, and somehow pulled out a piece of personal information from under a pile of documents.

Brief description: Lin Shutang, 23, is a graduate student at Peking University. His parents died in a car accident when he was seven, and he has lived with his aunt ever since. For years, he has been giving blood transfusions to his cousin Feng Jiang. Over a year ago, the frequency of these transfusions increased, and he was suspected of being misused as a blood bag. The last sentence was probably added in anger by his assistant.

A layer of darkness covered Li Yansheng's eyes, and several spots of different colors on the snow-white arm appeared in front of him.

He is just a nouveau riche who made his fortune by luck. He can't even be called a small family. It's interesting that he uses such dirty tricks.
