Chapter 4 Part-time Job

Chapter 4 Part-time Job

It was a week later when Lin Shutang returned to school.

When she entered the dormitory, Jiang Qinyuan was eating potato chips and watching TV series. She caught a glimpse of her coming in and immediately put the tablet aside.

"I'm back!" Jiang Qinyuan took Lin Shutang's arm and rubbed her shoulder with her head tilted: "I was so bored when you were away. I did everything alone."

Lin Shutang smiled: "Have you eaten? I brought something."

As he spoke, he shook the bag in his hand, which contained braised chicken with rice.

Jiang Qinyuan took the bag and took a deep sniff: "It smells good"

Remembering something, she put the bag on the table and pulled Lin Shutang to sit on the bed.

"Don't worry about eating yet, how are you feeling?"

Lin Shutang: "Okay."

Lin Shutang hadn't been in good health since she started school. She'd been feeling unwell every other day, and her face had always looked pale, but she'd never been seen taking medicine. Jiang Qinyuan had long wanted to find out what was going on.

Jiang Qinyuan: "Shutang, have you ever had a physical examination?"

Lin Shutang shook his head. Seeing her worried look, his heart felt as if it was surrounded by cotton and warm.

Her classmates treated her better than the group of people from the Feng family who had lived with her for a long time.

"It's okay! It will be fine after a few years of recuperation." No need to have blood drawn at irregular intervals. No matter how bad the condition gets, it won't be worse than before.

Thinking of the Feng family, Lin Shutang thought of the 10 million. She wanted to save up the 10 million the Feng family asked for as soon as possible and sever all ties with them.

Ten million is an astronomical sum for ordinary people. Others might have given up. But Lin Shutang cherished his life and didn't want to be associated with the Feng family anymore. Compared to the previous situation, ten million was nothing. Three to five years, as long as he could leave, anything would be fine.

However, she is still in school and the suitable jobs she can find are very limited.

"By the way, Yuanyuan, do you know any part-time jobs that pay well?"

The Jiang family's position in Beijing is one of the best. Lin Shutang thought that Jiang Qinyuan had access to more people and opportunities than himself.

"You still want to work part-time?"

Jiang Qinyuan was surprised. She knew Lin Shutang worked part-time at a flower shop and that if he found another part-time job, he might be too busy to handle it.

Lin Shutang nodded and explained: "I have already quit the flower shop."

"Why?"

The work at the flower shop was relatively easy, and the working hours were flexible. Jiang Qinyuan didn't understand why Lin Shutang wanted to resign. Thinking of Lin Shutang's health, she asked, "Shutang, do you need a lot of money?"

After asking, he looked at Lin Shutang cautiously, fearing that he would hear a bad answer.

Seeing that she had obviously misunderstood, Lin Shutang smiled and explained, "It does cost a lot of money, but it's not a health issue! So don't worry."

"That's great! I'll ask around for part-time jobs and see if there's anything suitable."

Jiang Qinyuan was quick to act, and by the afternoon she had news about her part-time jobs: one as a tutor, the other as a violinist in a business KTV.

Lin Shutang can play the violin, and he plays it quite well.

When the Feng family first established themselves in Beijing, they followed the trend and sent Feng Jiang to learn piano in order to integrate into the social circle. Feng Jiang was reluctant to go alone, so the Feng family asked Lin Shutang to accompany him, fearing that people would say that the Feng family was mistreating their niece, making her a follower of their son, and even letting Lin Shutang learn with him.

However, she also started out learning piano. Later, Lin Shutang became better and better at playing, and fearing she would overshadow Feng Jiang, she was made to learn violin, which she continued until the end of her senior year.

Jiang Qinyuan: "As for tutoring, the class lasts an hour and a half every day. It's in the community across from Gate 3 of our school. The club is my family's business, so no one will give you any trouble if you go. It just adds an hour to the working day, and it's a bit far from our school, so it takes over an hour to go there and back. But the hourly wage is higher than tutoring, and any tips the customers have are given to you."

After saying this, Jiang Qinyuan carefully observed Lin Shutang's expression, fearing that she would misunderstand her because of the job she had introduced her to. However, this was indeed the best job she had found that met Lin Shutang's requirements and had a high salary.

Lin Shutang didn't think much about it. She knew that the other party was doing it for her own good, so she spoke without hesitation: "Just tutor!"

"good!"
