Chapter 31 If You Don’t Come, How Can You Find a Sucker?

The girl downstairs wore a red, waist-cinching dress with a backless design. Her skin appeared snow-white under the cool light. As she played the violin, she occasionally leaned forward slightly, the grooves of her spine clearly visible. Her movements were graceful, reminiscent of a butterfly fluttering its wings, ready to fly.

At eleven o'clock, Chen Jinyao stood up from the sofa: "Are you leaving?"

The attic was designed with large floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides, all of which were open at the moment. Li Yansheng withdrew his gaze, turned around and leaned back against the glass railing, raised his hand to block the wind and lit a cigarette for himself: "I'll have a cigarette in the back, you go first."

"OK."

Another song ended, Li Yansheng went downstairs, waved to the waiter standing next to him, and said something to him. Surprise flashed in the waiter's eyes.

After a while, someone came to remove the screen and placed a single sofa and a small iceberg coffee table opposite Lin Shutang.

Only after Li Yansheng sat down in front of him did Lin Shutang realize that the person in the box was him.

He didn't say anything and continued to listen to the music quietly, leaning on the navy blue sofa with his legs folded together, holding a glass of red wine in his right hand, and his hand resting on the sofa.

The contrast of the velvet fabric makes the steel watch on the wrist look cold and hard. However, the occasional glimpse of the wrist when the wine glass is casually shaken makes people want to peek inside.

Realizing what he was thinking, Lin Shutang took a few deep breaths and cleared his mind.

The rhythm of the piano music changed obviously for a moment.

Li Yansheng picked up the wine glass and drank it all, then put it down and looked forward with a darkened look in his eyes.

She was wearing a veil on her face, not a very thick one, which combined with the current music created a sense of distance.

Another song ended, and Li Yansheng raised his hand to signal to stop.

Lin Shutang put down his bow and saw the man across from him stand up and walk towards him. He was tall and long-legged, with one hand in his trouser pocket, and there was a certain uninhibited and casualness in his steps.

The veil was very thin and might be useful for strangers, but Lin Shutang was not sure if it would work for people he knew.

For some reason, she didn't want Li Yansheng to know that she was here today.

But, if Lin Shutang didn't want it to happen, it wouldn't happen.

When Li Yansheng raised his hand, she leaned back slightly.

The next second, he felt a warm touch on his lower back. Without the obstruction of cloth, Lin Shutang only felt that the temperature on his lower back was getting higher and higher.

The strong hands were both support and a lock. Lin Shutang had nowhere to escape, and the veil was taken off by Li Yansheng.

"Why aren't you going home so late? Are you here to have some fun, Mr. Li?" Lin Shutang spoke preemptively, his tone less respectful than usual. It sounded childish, like a child who had done something bad and was caught being stubborn.

Li Yansheng didn't answer, but asked, "What are you doing here?"

His voice was deep and rich. Despite the two of them being in such an ambiguous position, his tone was only questioning, with no other meaning to be discerned.

This was their first time being so close, so close that Lin Shutang felt he could feel the vibrations in Li Yansheng's chest when he spoke. Lin Shutang felt a surge of irritation for no apparent reason. She was the one seducing, but the person she seduced didn't react, yet she was the one who lost her mind first.

Thinking of this, the dazed look on her face disappeared, and she started playing with the tie of the man in front of her with her fingers.

"I'm short of money. Where's Mr. Li? You haven't answered my question yet." She said in a faint tone, as if she didn't take his question seriously.

Li Yansheng didn't care about her casual tone when she spoke, and raised his hand to brush away the hand in front of his chest.

"Talking about business" took another step back to create distance and said, "This is not the place you should be."

This indifferent attitude made Lin Shutang even more irritated. He said casually, "I already said I'm short of money. If I don't come, how can I be a sucker?"

It's not that she was angry with him, but more like she was powerless and had a bit of annoyance in throwing in the towel.

Li Yansheng frowned slightly. In the past, she was always polite and courteous. This was the first time he had seen her like this.

"Knock knock knock." There was a knock on the door.

"Come in."

The waiter came in with a paper bag.

Li Yansheng didn't continue the previous topic: "Go change your clothes, I'll take you home."
