Chapter 250 The Minor Emotions Caused by the Class Transfer

“You Nan’s father, listen to me.” Teacher Xia Tian added, “Here’s what I’m thinking. I know Li You Nan plays the guzheng very well, but she doesn’t like academic subjects, so it’s a waste of her time here. Why don’t you transfer her to the arts class? There’s less academic pressure there, and there’s more room for Li You Nan to develop her talents. I think you can consider it.”

"Okay, I'll consider it. But I need to ask my child's opinion first, and she has to agree." Li Bin was polite on the surface, but he was a little sad inside. This was normal; no one would feel good if their child was advised by the teacher to leave their class.

"Then I won't bother you any longer, teacher. I'll go back and talk to You Nan about this." Li Bin stood up and took his leave.

"good."

Gu Yiming drove to pick up Jiang Hua and Jiang Kefan. He learned that Jiang Kefan had once again won the "Three Good Student" award and had done very well on the exam. He happily hugged Jiang Kefan and spun her around a few times. The three of them happily chatted and laughed as they drove home.

However, Li Bin's situation wasn't as optimistic as theirs. Li Younan had just seen the teacher call her father into the office for a long talk, and after reflecting on her behavior recently, she knew the teacher must have complained. Now, Li Bin walked ahead, and Li Younan followed behind, neither saying a word.

After arriving home, Li Younan changed her shoes. Without even turning on the lights, she headed to her room.

"Come back!" Li Bin turned on the living room light, then sat on the sofa and beckoned to Li Youran, "Come here."

Li Younan pursed her lips and walked over.

Li Bin took out the report card, and Li Younan thought she was about to be scolded. But to her surprise, Li Bin said, "Sit down, Dad wants to talk to you."

Li Younan sat on the sofa, looking away.

"Your grades are not ideal. Your teacher told me today that you don't like academic subjects, right?"

"Yes, I just don't like academic subjects. I only like playing the guzheng!" Li Younan gritted his teeth when he talked about academic subjects, as if those three words were some kind of grudge against him.

Upon hearing the second half of the sentence, Li Bin's eyes lit up. He thought to himself that Teacher Xia really knew how to come up with ideas. So he continued to say to Li Younan, "You don't like academic subjects, and you're wasting your time not studying in this class. How about this, Dad transfers you to the arts class, okay?"

"Really?" Li Younan was a little incredulous. "Okay! I'll spin!"

"Okay, then you can stay in this class for a few more days. I'll process your paperwork tomorrow, but it might take a while."

"Okay! Thank you, Dad!"

Li Younan was already in a bad mood because of her poor exam results and being reported by the teacher, but her mood brightened immediately after hearing Li Bin talk about transferring to another class. Seeing his daughter happy, Li Bin felt relieved: after all, poor grades weren't entirely Li Younan's fault; he could hardly find the time to spend with her, so how could he blame her? Transferring to another class was good; at least she wouldn't have so much pressure.

Li Younan has been in a good mood these past few days, humming little songs to school every day. She has fewer conflicts with her classmates and no longer talks back to her teachers.

The whole class was astonished by Li Younan's sudden change overnight. Jiang Kefan, seeing her like this, was even more curious, thinking the sun had risen in the west, so he quietly asked her, "Why are you so happy lately? What good news is there? Share it with me!"

"It's not exactly a good thing!" Li Younan didn't tell Jiang Kefan directly, but deliberately kept him in suspense.

"Tell me quickly, don't keep me in suspense." Jiang Kefan couldn't stand people only saying half a sentence, so he urged Li Younan to tell him.

"I'm transferring classes! I won't be forced to memorize classical Chinese poems and math problems every day anymore!" Li Younan said with a relaxed expression.

Jiang Kefan couldn't relax at all; he had mixed feelings: "This is too sudden. How could you just leave like that?"

However, Li Younan was completely unaware of Jiang Kefan's little mood. She continued to say to herself, "It was the teacher who gave my dad the suggestion! Teacher Xia has really played the good guy this time."

"Fine, fine, you can go!" Jiang Kefan was quite unhappy. Without waiting for Li Younan to speak, he turned around and left.

"Hey? You!" Li Younan said, looking at Jiang Kefan's back.

The school is so small. Several times, when Li Younan saw Jiang Kefan in the cafeteria, convenience store, basketball court, and corridors and tried to greet him, Jiang Kefan ignored her, treating her like she was invisible. Moreover, the more Li Younan tried to talk to him, the more enthusiastically he chatted with his companions walking beside him, clearly trying to annoy Li Younan.

The first few times, Li Younan mentally complained: "What kind of person is this! Why is he like this?" Then she suddenly realized that Jiang Kefan might be unhappy because she wanted to transfer classes, and she felt quite helpless: "My dad's almost done the paperwork for me, and I still have to transfer classes, sigh..."

When Li Younan woke up that day, she found that her father must have come home that morning, because there was a steaming bowl of porridge and a file folder on the table. Li Younan opened the file folder and found a stack of documents and certificates inside.

"Dad's pretty efficient! I thought I'd have to wait a while!" Li Younan muttered to himself as he packed up the file folder.

After finishing her porridge, Li Younan went to school. Her steps were unusually light today, knowing this was her last day in this class. During the break, she nudged Jiang Kefan, saying, "I'm leaving tomorrow."

"Oh," Jiang Kefan replied, and then ignored Li Younan.

Li Younan felt helpless and started packing her things. Actually, for a student like Li Younan who didn't study, there wasn't much to pack. Her desk was filled with more snacks than books—chocolate, potato chips, jelly—a whole pile of them...

Li Younan packed her few books and test papers into her bag, gave all her snacks to Jiang Kefan, then slung her backpack over her shoulder and left.

Jiang Kefan was lost in thought when he turned around and found Li Younan was gone. He went to her seat and found that her backpack and everything in her desk were gone. The seat was empty, as if no one had ever sat there. Jiang Kefan then realized: Li Younan was gone, and she would never come back to this class.

Jiang Kefan returned to his seat and found a bag piled up next to his desk. He picked it up and saw it was chocolate and potato chips Li Younan had given him. He was immediately furious: Everyone's gone! Who wants your stuff?

"Splash!" Jiang Kefan scattered everything on the ground. The students around him heard the noise and looked over, sighing in surprise.
