Qi Yanxu hired a private investigator to find Gu Yiming, originally intending only to get revenge on him. However, the investigator inexplicably captured some things about Gu Yiming that were even more terrifying than those about Gu Yiming.
After recording the video and seeing Gu Yiming enter his room, Qi Yanxu's private investigator secretly slipped away and showed Qi Yanxu what he had filmed. It was about Jiang Hua asking Gu Yiming to stay at his house for a day, but Gu Yiming refused. So Jiang Hua went to the hotel she had found that day. Qi Yanxu cursed as soon as he saw it.
Qi Yanxu touched his chin, watching the video over and over again, lost in thought. Even Qi Yanxu, the detective, lowered his head and watched the video again and again. He didn't know how many times he watched it before he finally came out of his reverie, looked at the two people in the video, and revealed an unfathomable smile.
However, the detective who had followed Qi Yanxu for so long knew what Qi Yanxu was thinking, so he smiled and then resumed his serious expression.
After an unknown number of minutes, Qi Yanxu realized that Jiang Hua had actually only been saved by Gu Yiming by chance.
So Qi Yanxu said to his henchman who had been standing behind him, "Let's go, let's go meet Jiang Hua's father."
Qi Yanxu's subordinate nodded very politely to Qi Yanxu and said, "Okay, Boss Qi." Then he followed behind Qi Yanxu and walked with him.
Upon arriving at the Jiang family home, the Jiang family members immediately opened the door upon seeing Qi Yanxu and called out to Jiang's father that someone had arrived. Jiang's father then put down the book he was holding and ran downstairs.
Upon seeing that the person who had come to see him was Qi Yanxu, Jiang's father immediately became serious. He knew that whenever Qi Yanxu came, it meant that he had something to discuss with him or something to say to him.
So Jiang's father pointed to the sofa and said to Qi Yanxu, "Please sit down, Mr. Qi. May I ask what brings you here?"
Qi Yanxu didn't bother with pleasantries with Jiang's father and went straight to the point: "My private investigator photographed your second daughter having a relationship with Gu Yiming. Think about it carefully. As for what kind of relationship it is, I don't know either. The reason I'm telling you this is simply because I think it's better for Jiang Hua to be with me." This statement directly revealed that Qi Yanxu wanted Jiang Hua to be his bride. It was such a simple statement, and he said it so directly. How could Jiang's father not understand?
Seeing that Qi Yanxu wasn't joking, Jiang's father smiled and said, "I understand all of this. The key is my second daughter. If she doesn't want it, I can't force her, can I? After all, I don't want to force anyone, and besides, she's my daughter. I don't want her to be restricted because of my marriage."
Qi Yanxu listened and smiled, clearly disbelieving. In Qi Yanxu's eyes, Jiang's father was selfish and would stop at nothing to get more of what he wanted. But this time, Qi Yanxu had brought Jiang's father important news, so how could Jiang's father not help him? Those words he had just spoken were just casual remarks; no one would take them seriously. Qi Yanxu was used to these little tricks, so no matter how Jiang's father acted, he could see through them.
Jiang's father knew that what he said was particularly fake, but he had no choice; he was forced into it.
Jiang's father coughed, a common tactic to ease the awkwardness. Seeing that Qi Yanxu showed no expression, he continued, "I was wondering why Jiang Hua was so confident that time. Turns out she had someone to help her. No wonder she was so sure, no wonder she could slam the door and leave so confidently." He then secretly glanced at Qi Yanxu, who remained expressionless as he listened. Feeling he couldn't hold back any longer, he continued about the incident with Jiang Hua: "Actually, my eldest and second daughters had a small argument that day, and Jiang Hua angrily slammed the door and left, telling me to figure it out myself. I was so worried at first, afraid she might do something drastic. If you hadn't told me today that your private investigator had recorded my second daughter going to see Gu Yiming, I would have been terrified of where she went and what she did that night. Thank you so much this time." His expression of gratitude seemed very sincere, but a shrewd person would have noticed the underlying meaning, and Qi Yanxu certainly did.
Qi Yanxu gave a soft "hmm" and inwardly mocked Jiang's father, thinking, "Do you really think your daughter is stupid? Can't she do anything? Do you really think your daughter is stupid? If your daughter couldn't find anyone to help her, wouldn't she stay in a hotel for the night? Do you really think I'm stupid like your daughter? I think you're the real fool."
So Qi Yanxu stood up, lightly brushed off imaginary dust from his pants, and casually said to Jiang's father, who was still sitting on the sofa, "I've said what I should have said, and what I shouldn't have said. We've talked about what we should have talked about, and what we shouldn't have talked about, so I don't think we have anything to discuss now. That's it. I'm leaving. Take care. I'll come see you again when I have time." Saying he would come to see Jiang's father was a lie, a polite remark, and a complete fabrication. How could Qi Yanxu possibly have time to see Jiang's father? He hadn't even finished taking care of his own affairs.
Mr. Jiang knew this was just polite talk and didn't intend to say anything. After all, he didn't want Qi Yanxu to come to see him, because he knew that Qi Yanxu's visits never meant good things. Mr. Jiang hoped for many good things to come his way, so he hoped Qi Yanxu wouldn't come at all. He couldn't afford to serve him. Qi Yanxu was a very powerful figure.
So Jiang's father said to Qi Yanxu, "Okay, okay, if you have something to do, then don't come. You go ahead with your business, I'll see you off."
However, Qi Yanxu replied that it was no need and that he would leave by himself. Without giving Jiang's father any room for thought, he left. Jiang's father replied that he would take care and sat down on the sofa where he had been sitting.
As Jiang's father watched Qi Yanxu walk away, his worries, tension, and excitement lessened considerably. He couldn't help but let out a soft sigh of relief, thinking that Qi Yanxu had been truly difficult to deal with this time. Thank goodness he left; otherwise, Jiang's father would have gone crazy.
Qi Yanxu thought of the report the private investigator had given him, so he looked up at the investigator who was looking around and asked him, "I have a question for you. Do you know Jiang Hua's whereabouts?"
