Qi Yanxu thought of the report the private investigator had given him, so he looked up at the investigator who was looking around and asked him, "I have a question for you. Do you know Jiang Hua's whereabouts?"
Upon hearing Qi Yanxu's question, the detective immediately thought for a moment, then lowered his head and replied, "You only asked me to watch over Gu Yiming's house. After that, I didn't follow Miss Jiang Hua, so I don't know. I'm sorry."
Qi Yanxu didn't know what to say to him. He pointed for a long time but couldn't utter a single word. He then said to the detective, "Useless. You're really useless."
This criticism made the detective lower his head even more, and also made Qi Yanxu even more irritable.
Qi Yanxu knew that continuing like this wasn't a solution, so he found the phone numbers of various hotels and asked them one by one about Jiang Hua's address. It was as if he would keep searching until he found out where Jiang Hua lived.
Finally, Qi Yanxu found Jiang Hua's place and rushed to the hotel as fast as he could.
When Jiang Hua finished showering and was about to go to bed, she heard someone knocking on the door. Jiang Hua thought it was the waiter bringing her a late-night snack, so she called out, "Coming right away, just a moment," and walked towards the door.
She opened the door, but instead of seeing a waiter, she saw Qi Yanxu. She tried to close the door again, but Qi Yanxu swiftly placed his hand on the threshold. If Jiang Hua wanted to close the door, she would have to break Qi Yanxu's hand, but Jiang Hua was incapable of such a bloody act. So she gave up on fighting Qi Yanxu.
Qi Yanxu slipped in and, after looking at Jiang Hua, guessed that she must have just taken a shower, because she smelled of shower gel.
Qi Yanxu found Jiang Hua very alluring after her shower. He wanted to hug her, but Jiang Hua quickly grabbed a fruit knife from the table and put it to her neck, saying, "Don't come any closer, or I'll..." She then moved the knife deeper into her neck, but didn't cut, because she couldn't bring herself to do it. She was just putting on a show for Qi Yanxu.
However, it was unexpected that Qi Yanxu, who had read the eyes of thousands, was actually fooled by Jiang Hua. This was too unbelievable. Even Jiang Hua found it unbelievable. This kind of threat had been used hundreds of times, but Jiang Hua still felt the same way when she used it.
Qi Yanxu became anxious upon seeing Jiang Hua's current state, his earlier composure vanishing. He cautiously said to Jiang Hua, "Come on, put down the knife. Let's talk this out. I won't force you. Can I please not force you?"
Jiang Hua also felt that she had brought this upon herself. Why did she have to be so reckless as to use this method to gain Qi Yanxu's sympathy? But since she had already used it, she might as well play along. Anyway, Qi Yanxu had already fallen for it.
So Jiang Hua started her acting: "You...you don't 'force' me."
Qi Yanxu immediately yelled at Jiang Hua: "Don't think you can do whatever you want just because I like you. I can hit people when I'm angry. I think you can still be saved if you put down the knife now. Once I catch you, your fate will be very different. I still have some patience."
Jiang Hua was still thinking about how to brush off Qi Yanxu, so she said to him, "Since you like me, you shouldn't force me, right? Don't you think so?"
Qi Yanxu could only agree with Jiang Hua, saying, "Yes, yes, I think you're right."
So Jiang Hua continued, "Then think about what you were about to do to me. Qi Yanxu, tell me what you want. Please stop making things difficult for me, okay? I'm begging you." She then put on a pitiful look to gain sympathy.
Qi Yanxu thought that since Jiang Hua had already been rejected by Gu Yiming and Gu Yiming no longer cared about her, no matter how things went at the beginning, it seemed that Jiang Hua was destined to belong to him now. So Qi Yanxu didn't need to worry. He just needed to make sure that Jiang Hua didn't have any suicidal thoughts. He figured he could deal with the rest later.
So he nodded to Jiang Hua and said, "Okay, I'll agree to whatever you say. You can put the knife down now, right? You're so scary, you know? If you want to scare me, just tell me. I'll just pretend to be dead. You're putting on a show."
So Jiang Hua obediently put down the knife and stared at Qi Yanxu, afraid that he might regret it and do something she didn't want him to do.
Qi Yanxu seemed to notice the gaze as well, and immediately looked at Jiang Hua, saying, "Why are you looking at me? What are you afraid of? I've already promised you. I always keep my promises, okay? If I can't, may I be struck by lightning. Although this oath is a bit unreliable."
Jiang Hua nodded to Qi Yanxu as if she believed him, but she kept glancing at him out of the corner of her eye, even while lying in bed. To Jiang Hua, Qi Yanxu was now a terrifying figure, like the Big Bad Wolf, and she was Little Red Riding Hood. Little Red Riding Hood was afraid of being eaten by the Big Bad Wolf, so she was always on guard. But what Little Red Riding Hood didn't know was that if the Big Bad Wolf ever wanted to eat her, he could do it in minutes. Would he care about her feelings then? All her worries would be for nothing, because the Big Bad Wolf hadn't shown any interest in eating her, giving her time to play. And so on and so forth.
Therefore, Jiang Hua should also know that Qi Yanxu is the big bad wolf in this story. If Qi Yanxu decides to catch her, he will do everything in his power to do so. Moreover, Jiang Hua has lost her father and is just an ordinary citizen. So, it would be incredibly easy for Qi Yanxu to catch her. He could easily capture her, and even if Jiang Hua wanted to escape, she wouldn't be able to. Therefore, Jiang Hua is wasting her time with Qi Yanxu now; she should use this time to figure out what she should do. That way, she can escape Qi Yanxu's grasp. Although Qi Yanxu isn't that scary, Jiang Hua simply doesn't want to be controlled by anyone.
Qi Yanxu said to Jiang Hua, "Don't quarrel with your family anymore. Your father told me that you are staying in a hotel because you quarreled with your sister last time. Your father said he was worried about you to death at that time, but he was too busy with work to come and see you."
