Gu Yiming already knew about this news and had some doubts. He didn't quite believe that Jiang Hua was behind it, but whenever he thought about what she had said to him on the phone, he felt that it was Jiang Hua who did it.
He wanted to verify all his suspicions himself, so he got into his car and went to the hospital where Jiang Shiwan was currently located.
Jiang Shiwan was placed in a VIP ward. Gu Yiming followed the nurse to the door but did not go in. He looked through the glass window and saw Jiang Shiwan lying there resting, her face pale.
He felt a pang of pain in his heart, not for Jiang Shiwan, but for Jiang Hua…
He hadn't expected that Jiang Shiwan's current condition was indeed caused by Jiang Hua. Although he had suspected it for a while, he still couldn't help but feel heartbroken after it was confirmed.
Gu Yiming clenched his fingers and stopped the nurse when she came out.
How are the patients inside?
"It's nothing serious. It's just from being too frightened. You just need to rest." The nurse was very patient with Gu Yiming because she thought he was handsome.
Upon hearing this, Gu Yiming's eyes darkened. He nodded to indicate that he understood and then let the nurse leave. He then turned the doorknob and went inside.
"How are you feeling?" Gu Yiming felt a little apologetic as Jiang Shiwan woke up as soon as he entered.
A complex emotion flashed in Jiang Shiwan's eyes. In reality, she hadn't fallen asleep at all. She had expected Gu Yiming to come, but she hadn't expected him to arrive so late. It would be a lie to say she wasn't resentful, but when Gu Yiming appeared, she knew she was still happy.
"It's nothing serious. She just couldn't control herself while drawing, so don't treat her badly because of it. I can tell she likes you a lot," Jiang Shiwan said deliberately. She knew why Gu Yiming was here, and although he didn't ask, it didn't mean she wouldn't tell him.
As expected, Gu Yiming's suspicions were confirmed once again. His expression darkened. "Just because you like her doesn't mean you can do this! You're her sister, and she treats you like this. And you're still defending her!"
Jiang Shiwan understood Gu Yiming and knew he was angry. A smug smile crept onto her face, but she quickly put on a knowing smile and said, "No matter what, she's still my sister. Of course, I have to forgive my sister when she does something wrong."
If she hadn't said anything, things would have been fine. The more she talked, the angrier Gu Yiming became, and he slammed his fist on the table next to him. "You treat her like a younger sister, but I don't know what she's treating you like."
"I'm sorry, I startled you." Gu Yiming looked at Jiang Shiwan's frightened expression with deep regret. He had acted too impulsively, and it was all because of Jiang Hua that he had become like this. He felt a little annoyed; why should he still care about Jiang Hua when she was like this?
"It's okay. I understand. You're just too fond of painting to act like this. But painting also likes you. Otherwise, she wouldn't care so much about me, considering our past relationship..." Jiang Shiwan smiled sadly. She was indeed disappointed, and equally unwilling. Gu Yiming was clearly her fiancé, so why was he snatched away by Jiang Hua?
The more she acted like this, the more uncomfortable Gu Yiming felt. He would rather she throw a tantrum and yell than have her be so understanding. Maybe then he would feel sorry for Jiang Hua.
"Don't say anything more. Jiang Hua was wrong, so she has to take responsibility. It has nothing to do with me. I didn't come to see you because of her. You should rest well. I have some things to do at the company. I'll come to see you again when I have time." Gu Yiming felt the air here was a bit stuffy. After arranging Jiang Shiwan's seat, he left.
After watching Gu Yiming leave, Jiang Shiwan's smile vanished, replaced by calculation. She got out of bed, her movements nimble and agile, hardly befitting someone who was weak. She took her phone to the bathroom and expertly dialed a number.
...
Since Jiang Shiwan's incident, Jiang Hua hadn't left the house. Seeing Jiang Shiwan call, her eyes filled with anger. Without thinking, she answered the phone, "How long do you plan to stay home?" She didn't give Jiang Shiwan a chance to speak, directly throwing the question at her.
Jiang Shiwan chuckled softly, not deciding to answer Jiang Hua's question, but instead changing the subject, her tone full of ambiguity, "Do you know who came to see me?"
Jiang Hua paused, confused by Jiang Shiwan's move. She simply remained silent, but the sweat on her palms betrayed her unease.
"I think you should know, and you must know. Tsk tsk, it's Gu Yiming who came to see me." Jiang Shiwan didn't hear her reply and smiled even more charmingly.
Jiang Hua should have realized this long ago; only Gu Yiming could give Jiang Shiwan such confidence to deal with her. She shouldn't care, but her heart still ached. She frowned. "What do you want to say?"
"Don't blame me for drawing. I'm just reminding you so you won't be unhappy in the future and pay a heavy price for your current choices." Jiang Shiwan's voice was cold again, and beneath the coldness was a hint of cruelty.
Jiang Hua frowned even more deeply. "Speak plainly. I'm not in the mood to listen to your nonsense."
She wanted to hang up the phone; her sixth sense told her that what was about to be said wouldn't be pleasant and might break her heart. But, being the reckless person she was, she wanted to confirm it.
"Gu Yiming said he doesn't care about your feelings. He only likes your body. Do you know why he hasn't given you a formal title even though you've been together for so long?" Jiang Shiwan's words were like a sharp sword, accurately piercing Jiang Hua.
That's because he's afraid your identity will tarnish his reputation.
Jiang Hua's heart was utterly broken. It has to be said that Jiang Shiwan's words had deeply hurt her. They made her feel as if she had been violated, subjected to Jiang Shiwan's utter ridicule.
"Even so, you have no right to tell me what to do. Gu Yiming is nobody to me." Jiang Hua controlled herself to calm down, coldly finished speaking, and hung up the phone. Then, her eyes couldn't help but redden. She slid down to the corner, and tears, as if knowing her sadness, fell uncontrollably one by one.
She didn't want to sit and wait for her fate any longer. She looked outside, then armed herself again, and went out through the back door.
She had just stepped out when her arm was pulled forcefully. Jiang Hua's pupils constricted. "It's me." A familiar voice came from behind her. She knew who it was and gradually relaxed.
"What are you doing here?" She pulled her coat tighter and adjusted her mask, looking at Qi Yanxu in front of her.
"I know you might be in a bad mood. I've been waiting for you here for a long time, how about we go out for a drink?" Qi Yanxu replied patiently with a smile.
Jiang Hua really needed to relax, so she nodded and got into Qi Yanxu's car to go to the bar.
"I didn't do it. It's none of my business." Jiang Hua got drunk after a few drinks. She never had a good temper when drunk, and she let her guard down completely. She was unusually vulnerable now, making people want to protect her.
