Chapter 690 Jealousy Eruption

To prevent those alluring red lips from uttering any more complaints, Gu Yiming simply bent down and lightly pecked her lips again.

The moment she touched him, Jiang Hua's voice abruptly stopped. Her mind went blank, leaving her stunned and speechless. She didn't even know when Gu Yiming had left; she only remembered someone whispering in her ear.

"Be a good girl and wait for me at home. I'll try my best to come back and spend time with you after I'm done with work. Don't play games too much, or I won't like you having dark circles under your eyes."

Even though his tone was full of disdain, she could still detect a hint of doting. While she was still bubbling over, Gu Yiming had already ruffled the hair on her forehead and left with a light laugh.

Coming to her senses, Jiang Hua realized she was the only one still grinning foolishly in the entryway. She patted her face, preparing to go back to her room to continue her epic battle with the game.

But when she thought of Gu Yiming's words to her as he left, she paused, her hand holding the game console still, before she smiled and shook her head.

Seriously, how can a grown man still be so petty about a game? She discovered that Gu Yiming's jealousy was unparalleled; it could erupt at any moment, and it didn't discriminate. He even had to get upset about something as trivial as a game.

Sigh, whatever. Who told him to love her so much? She could allow him to have this bit of possessiveness. Since she couldn't play games, she might as well take a nap.

Jiang Hua yawned and drew the curtains to block out the glaring sunlight. Then she tidied the bed and curled up to sleep.

She could still vaguely feel Gu Yiming's lingering warmth and presence, and inexplicably felt at ease, falling into a deep sleep.

The afternoon sun gently spilled onto the balcony, creating an exceptionally peaceful atmosphere. The sleeping faces of the people inside were unexpectedly serene, and even time seemed to stand still because of this tranquility.

Even after arriving at the company, Gu Yiming's faint smile lingered on his lips. His gentle, warm smile undoubtedly captivated countless female employees.

Amidst the murmurs, Gu Yiming seemed to remember something, and the next second he withdrew his smile, reverting to his icy demeanor that kept everyone at arm's length.

He glanced at his inconspicuous assistant, Xu Wei, in the crowd and said coldly, "Have you investigated everything I asked for?"

Xu Wei, who was still immersed in the CEO's charming smile, snapped out of her daze upon hearing these words. However, her years of professional experience allowed her to quickly regain her composure: "I've checked everything and put it in the file. I'll go get it for you..."

Before he could even say "take," Gu Yiming interrupted, "Put it on my desk after the meeting."

Gu Yiming was always concise; as soon as he finished speaking, he turned around, got on the elevator, and disappeared from everyone's sight.

Xu Wei was furious. She really didn't understand what was so great about the woman the president had asked her to investigate, that made him ignore all other women. Even after being his assistant for so long, she could never exchange more than three sentences with him.

Driven by jealousy, Xu Wei deliberately unsealed the information she had gathered during her investigation and placed some extremely intimate photos of Jiang Hua and Ye Mucheng on top.

Her little scheme was quite obvious; she was undoubtedly deliberately letting Gu Yiming know about Jiang Hua's past. Ideally, she wanted to create a rift in their relationship, giving her, the little "fangirl," a chance to rise in status.

After taking a few more glances at her 'masterpiece', Xu Wei quietly left Gu Yiming's office, a meaningful smile on her lips quite noticeable.

Anticipating that the meeting would not last long, Xu Wei returned to her assistant's seat early, waiting for things to develop as she had imagined.

About twenty minutes later, Gu Yiming finished his meeting and headed to his office. As soon as he entered, he saw a file folder prominently placed on the table.

In a good mood, Gu Yiming didn't plan to look at it, and even intended to throw it away. After all, it was better for Jiang Hua to explain this to him personally, and he could pretend to be jealous and take advantage of the situation later.

Thinking of this, Gu Yiming smiled again, as if still savoring the sweetness of the morning. He reached for the file folder, intending to throw it in the trash can, but then noticed that the seal was loose, and something was about to be revealed.

The intimate photos of Jiang Hua and Ye Mucheng were on the top shelf, and since they had been deliberately opened, Gu Yiming quickly noticed the glaring photo.

The smile froze on his face, then vanished, and Gu Yiming's expression darkened again. Something stirred within him, a sour feeling rising in his heart.

He took out the photo, scrutinizing it closely, his eyes fierce as if trying to see through it. After a long while, he tossed it aside in disgust, refusing to look at it again.

Suppressing his anger, Gu Yiming immediately opened the file folder, took out the thick stack of documents inside, and carefully examined them, not missing a single word.

It turns out that Jiang Hua had no choice but to approach and deceive her in the first place. If it weren't for waiting for her first love, Ye Mucheng, to return to the country and reconcile with her, she wouldn't have repeatedly rejected Qi Yanxu's advances, or even offended him.

Seeing this, Gu Yiming's jealousy had already reached a boiling point. In a fit of rage, he lost all sense of reason, slammed his hand on the table, and stood up abruptly, the documents already scattered on the floor.

A chilling aura emanated from him, and his narrow, dark eyes blazed with fury. Gu Yiming was completely unable to calm down, especially since he was currently consumed by jealousy.

He didn't know why, but ever since he met Jiang Hua, he, who had never shown his emotions on his face, was now happy because of her and sad because of her. It was as if all his emotions were swayed by her.

Gu Yiming was jealous because he cared about Jiang Hua, and angry because he had fallen in love with her. A strong possessiveness kept screaming in his ears: she could only belong to him alone.

"I'm really going crazy." Gu Yiming sighed and sat down, muttering to himself, a trace of sorrow reflected in his cold eyes as he rubbed his forehead.

His reaction just now was too extreme. When did he become someone who is controlled by emotions? It seems that if Jiang Hua isn't taught a lesson, she'll start having affairs everywhere.

Seeing that it was almost time, Gu Yiming remembered his promise to leave work early to go home and spend time with Jiang Hua. Even though he was still jealous, he wanted to be a man of his word.

Before dealing with some more trivial matters, Gu Yiming turned on his computer, his gaze briefly sweeping over the messy stack of documents scattered on the floor. He gave a cold laugh and ignored them.

He wanted to hear how Jiang Hua would explain things to him, and if he didn't get a satisfactory answer...

Haha, he's the kind of person who eats people.

The office window was open, letting the wind blow freely in. The wind wasn't strong, but it was enough to make the scattered papers on the floor even more disorderly, yet the person in front of the computer didn't seem inclined to pick them up or tidy them up.

Although it was an eyesore, Gu Yiming was even less willing to touch it. He was afraid that the anger he had finally managed to calm down would be reignited, his reason would be swallowed up, and he would lose control of the situation.

In the quiet office, the only sounds were Gu Yiming's typing and the occasional rustling of the wind through the paper. But he seemed not to hear them, continuing to work on his tasks with an indifferent expression.
