"Really? Aren't you supposed to be cute and pretty?" Yi Gu teased her on purpose.
"Don't make fun of me. In high school, I was always late and loved to sleep in, but luckily my grades were pretty good." Jiang Hua couldn't help but laugh at herself when she talked about the past.
"If you didn't get caught sleeping in, will the teacher wake you up for a while?"
"Of course not, I have my deskmate to help me. My deskmate helped me a lot in my senior year of high school," Jiang Hua said with a grin.
"Your deskmate? Is she a girl?"
"He's a boy. At first, he was indeed indifferent to me. But he's a very nice person. In my senior year of high school, he helped me a lot, and we became very close at that time."
Yes, Gu Yiming was indeed not very interested in talking to Jiang Hua at first during high school, but after that incident on the basketball court, their relationship became much closer.
The two often talked, and whenever Jiang Hua was late or overslept, Gu Yiming would cover for her while reading a book. Occasionally, he would open a notebook and place it between their desks to shield her from the sunlight. The handsome boy and the beautiful girl, one asleep and the other reading, created a beautiful picture in the sunlight. This was the most beautiful scene of Jiang Hua and Gu Yiming during their senior year of high school.
Gu Yiming, and Jiang Hua, were unaware that Jiang Hua was the only person Gu Yiming had during his senior year of high school. However, in that rigid period, he had many good friends—so kind, sunny, beautiful, cute, and kind—and many people liked her. Gu Yiming kept a distance from everyone else, yet he was willing to reserve a place for Jiang Hua in his world.
"You're a guy, so let me ask you something. How exactly does it mean when a guy likes someone?" Jiang Hua suddenly blurted out.
This left Gu Yiming, on the other side of the screen, speechless.
"Perhaps it's because he wanted to see the first person as soon as he entered the classroom," Gu answered slowly and carefully, word by word.
"Why would you ask that?" Gu asked again.
"I just feel that the word 'like' is too overused. Many people tell me they like me, but I don't feel it at all," Jiang Hua said, adjusting her earphone cord with some annoyance.
"Why?" Gu seemed intrigued.
"Hahaha, it might sound a bit narcissistic to say this." Jiang Hua laughed a few more times. "In high school, many people confessed their feelings to me, but I didn't plan to date at the time. I also felt that their love, their love for me, was too superficial and childish, as if it was just because I was good-looking."
“Many people judge by appearances,” Yi Gu said.
"And what about you? Yi Gu, have you ever been confessed to? How many times?" Jiang Hua laughed at him.
"Yes, but I haven't counted them," Yi Gu replied.
"I haven't counted them yet, but it must be a lot. Well, you're so outstanding." Jiang Hua chuckled.
The more Jiang Hua learned about Yi Gu, the more she felt he was a very special person.
The next afternoon, Jiang Hua woke up from her nap. Surprisingly, she didn't stay in bed. She quickly washed up, changed her clothes, and went out. How could she be late today? She was the host of the conference. If she was late, how could the conference even start?
Actually, Jiang Hua didn't want to be the host at first. It was only after her teacher talked to her for a long time, saying that she was beautiful and it would be a waste if she didn't go, that Jiang Hua reluctantly agreed.
"Teacher, I'm here." As soon as Jiang Hua entered the venue, she saw her teacher.
"Xiao Hua, you're here! Go change your clothes, the makeup artist is waiting for you." The teacher smiled at her.
“Okay,” Jiang Hua replied obediently.
As soon as Jiang Hua entered the dressing room, the makeup artist gave her a silver-white dress and told her to change into it.
"Sweetie, change your clothes first, then we'll put on makeup. If you don't wear clothes, your makeup will be ruined." The teacher said, pushing her into the changing room.
Jiang Hua looked at the dress in the dressing room. This... it's too revealing. Sigh, but I have to bite the bullet and go on. To be honest, the dress is quite nice.
"Come on, Xiao Zhang, move these things over here," said Ms. Wang, the makeup artist, directing the person in charge to move the items.
"Xiao Zhang, why aren't you moving? Hurry up and move it!" The teacher asked, somewhat puzzled.
She followed Xiao Zhang's gaze and saw Jiang Hua, who had just changed her clothes and still looked visibly embarrassed.
The V-neck design of the dress showcased Jiang Hua's beautiful collarbone, while the layered feather details at the hem created a light and airy feel. A delicate lace bracelet encircled her wrist, making the entire strapless, silver-white dress look like something out of a fairy's gown. Her hair, unstyled, naturally cascaded down her long, flowing locks, making her appear like a fairy descended from heaven.
"Ahem, teacher, I'm all changed." Jiang Hua coughed softly as she looked at the few people staring in disbelief in the dressing room.
"You're so beautiful, classmate! Come on, let me do your hair and makeup." Teacher Wang warmly invited her to sit down.
Jiang Hua's hair is in good condition and doesn't need much care. Teacher Wang felt that she shouldn't be decorated too much, as that would ruin its natural beauty. So, she braided a plait behind each ear and then braided two pigtails, which made Jiang Hua even more beautiful and charming.
Jiang Hua put on white high heels and had Teacher Wang do her simple makeup. The light and elegant makeup made her look even more beautiful. She truly looked good whether she was wearing heavy or light makeup.
