How an Office Drone Conquers the Strongest Boss

Shen Run is an office drone.

Fresh out of college, she joined an outsourcing company, working like a beast of burden: two days off a month, phone on 24/7, delayed wages a common occurrence, and constantly fending off her boss's harassment. Her life's dream was to get a permanent position at a major company.

As she desperately searched for a job to pay off her debts, she suddenly saw a recruitment notice from the world's largest biopharmaceutical company. It offered six social insurances and one housing fund paid on time, a monthly salary of 15k that grew steadily each quarter, eight days off a month, normal holidays, and even company shares after one year, with the potential to become a billionaire.

Yet, the job description was surprisingly simple for such high pay: caring for a special patient.

Shen Run, like a parched land receiving rain, overcame all obstacles and successfully secured the offer. Finally, she met the legendary mysterious patient.

The four walls confining him were charged with millions of volts of high-voltage electricity, enough to electrocute ten Godzillas. The ward was equipped with sixteen surveillance cameras, monitoring 24 hours a day without blind spots.

He sat sideways on the hospital bed, his figure slender and tall.

...Since 001 awakened, the executives of Umbrella Corporation lived in constant dread. They sent seven top-tier experts to try and tame this strongest variant, capable of becoming a nightmare for all humanity, but without exception, all of them met tragic deaths at 001's hands; the stronger they were, the faster they died.

After internal discussions, the executives decided to change their approach. They would find the most harmless ordinary person as an observer to soothe 001. After several rounds of recruitment, they finally dug out Shen Run's resume from a corner. She had no outstanding education, no background, and was utterly unremarkable from her personality to her name. She looked like a good, diligent workhorse, willing to endure anything.

...To their utter surprise, Shen Run actually succeeded in appeasing the malicious and cruel 001, who viewed humans as inferior beings. The executives were greatly shocked and personally came down to the grassroots to learn from her.

Shen Run recalled the first time she met 001. He had easily broken through the layers of encirclement, ready to make her die as miserably as her seven predecessors. He clasped her neck, his slender fingers pressing on her delicate carotid artery, teasing maliciously, "Tell me, what is your purpose for being here?"

Shen Run's brain froze, "For... the six insurances and one housing fund?"
