Chapter 23: So Fierce

Chapter 23: So Fierce

Someone who was not on the roll call came to class. The physical education teacher didn't react at first, but when he heard that it was a competition student who was registered on the student's record, he glanced at Xu Jiqing and let him go.

A class lasts three-quarters of an hour.

I ran two laps to warm up, and spent the rest of the time practicing receiving and serving.

There were three volleyball courts. Since there were more boys than girls in the class, only the rightmost court was allocated to the girls. They practiced in pairs across the net, with the ball flying in the air from all directions.

Su Xia learned from her previous lesson this time and marked the small calendar on the bedside table early to remind herself to change into sports bra early Thursday morning.

I felt chest tightness and shortness of breath when I was in class during the day, but as soon as I started running and jumping, I felt that the discomfort was worth the whole day.

It's very stable, and the slightest shake is negligible.

At the beginning of the class, a few boys secretly looked at her, but later they saw that there was nothing good to gain, so they all dispersed.

High school boys have such short attention spans that they can be easily distracted by any new activity.

For example, Xu Jiqing who just arrived.

How could a brain that is this useful be only good at studying?

When they were running laps, he was at the end of the line and no one could see him, but when they started practicing serving, no one could help but look at him.

The teacher finished the demonstration.

While the people around him were still struggling to cross the net, Xu Jiqing used a jump serve.

The boy stood three meters behind the end line, threw the ball, took a run-up, jumped into the air, stretched his body into an explosive arch, and the moment he swung his arm to hit the center of the ball, the volleyball turned into a sharp white line and hit the hot ground with a crisp sound.

When he jumped up, the wind blew through the boy's black hair, and the hem of his school uniform bulged slightly.

From a distance, the boy's slender waist and abdomen flashed by, and the lines of his abdominal muscles were clean and firm.

Su Xia was stunned.

He Miao hugged the ball and sighed, "So fierce... He must have practiced before."

The girls around were all looking over there, blushing and whispering to each other.

Su Xia suppressed the inexplicable palpitations, drew his attention back, and only glanced at it occasionally during the breaks in practice.

She didn't know what she was worried about.

But I was worried and had a bad feeling, so I was absent-minded throughout the whole class.

The boy in the same group with Xu Jiqing was Li Rui, who had previously enjoyed mocking Su Xia the most.

The ball Xu Jiqing sent was so powerful and spun that no one could catch it.

He had no intention of receiving the ball sent by Li Rui.

Just let the volleyball bounce up, stop it in the air, and hit it back with your left hand intact.

After a few rounds, the boys on the other side of the net were either hit directly or dodged and kept picking up the ball.

Li Rui was filled with anger, panting and cursing, "Fuck, are you sick?"

The physical education teacher was correcting the movements nearby. He rushed over when he heard the noise. "You two, why are you making such a fuss instead of playing basketball properly?"

Li Rui's short-sleeved shirt was covered in dust, and there was even a volleyball mark on his face, which burned hotly. "He's crazy. He didn't catch my ball, and he wanted to mess with me for no reason. He always hit me in the face."

The playground was noisy.

But because of Xu Jiqing's actions just now, a group of boys and girls looked over here, including Su Xia, who he had laughed at before.

The more he thought about it, the more embarrassed he felt. He tilted his head and gritted his teeth, his voice, which had just changed, becoming shrill. "You're crazy looking for attention, aren't you? Why are you in PE class if you want to show off so badly? Just let's fight, do you think I'm afraid of you?"

Xu Jiqing stood leaning against the net, his knuckles digging into the rough leather of the volleyball. He was neither angry nor uttered a word in rebuttal.

There was no emotion in his eyes, as if he was out of the matter.

The physical education teacher has taught more than a dozen classes of students. Although he looks unfamiliar, he is very familiar with the top students in Class S.

At the age of seventeen or eighteen, after winning a few small awards and being praised by others, he became very arrogant and thought that his peers were all mediocre losers.

Li Rui is his old student, and his father is a school board member.

I also participated in math competitions, but my grades were only good enough to get me into Class A. It was not very promising to skip the college entrance examination solely through competitions, so I still attended regular classes on weekdays.

Under the scorching sun, Li Rui was covered in dust, sweat, and his eyes were red.

The physical education teacher didn't think much of it and thought he must have been bullied.

When he turned to look at Xu Jiqing again, his tone had turned cold, "Your name is not on the roll call list. What's your name?"

The young man said nothing until someone behind him spoke first.

"His name is Xu Jiqing."

"...Xu Jiqing, right?" The physical education teacher nodded.

He unloaded his ballpoint pen and scribbled two homophones on the roster. "Li Rui is practicing with you. Since there's no conflict, why don't you take his ball?"

There is some distance between the volleyball courts.

The girls' court in the distance was mostly obscured by the shadows of trees. Small white and blue balls were bouncing high in the sky, completely unaware of the situation here.

Xu Jiqing glanced at it briefly, his dark eyelashes drooping, "No."

"You can do the jump serve, but not the pass?"

Xu Jiqing stood there and nodded lightly.

The physical education teacher was so angry that he laughed.

After so many years of teaching, even the most stubborn sports students would give in after a few words. Who has ever given him such a cold shoulder?

Old teachers all have some baggage.

The new transfer student hadn't achieved any results yet but had this attitude. He was furious and insisted on making him bow his head in front of everyone.

He put the pen back on the clipboard and said, "No, that's fine. We'll learn now. We can leave when we've mastered it."

"Start with your hands, palms facing up, fingers extended, and your right hand stacked on top of your left palm."

"Roll up your sleeves. I'll watch you do it."

Xu Jiqing didn't say anything, holding the ball in his left hand, with his right hand hanging down motionlessly.

The PE teacher frowned and asked, "Didn't you hear me?"

He was not as tall as Xu Jiqing. Standing in front of him, his fat body looked a little bloated, and he lacked the aura.

But it's at school after all.

Once the teacher released his pressure, no one in the small area dared to speak.

The air suddenly became quiet.

With someone backing him up, the tide turned in an instant. Li Rui, who had complained, also felt emboldened. He half-jokingly and half-sarcastically said, "Teacher, Xu Jiqing is afraid of the cold. His clothes are welded to his body. No one can move him."

The physical education teacher was still looking in Xu Jiqing's direction.

The boy's face was impassive, his jaw set tight, and he looked stubborn and unconcerned.

Bullying is justified.

The teacher clicked his tongue and said, "I'll give you the last ten seconds. If you still don't want to stretch out your hand, I'll help you."

Xu Jiqing still didn't respond.

The physical education teacher sneered and began to count down, "Ten, nine, eight, seven..."

Half the venue stopped and gathered around to watch the fun.

After counting the last number, the teacher's patience ran out. He casually pointed to two boys beside him and said, "Go, lift up his sleeves."

At this point, no one remembers what caused the conflict.

They are not as good-looking as Xu Jiqing, nor as popular with girls as Xu Jiqing. They have been treated as background members of the new transfer student for so long, and finally they have the chance to put a damper on his prestige.

Xu Jiqing's light brown eyes were like wet mud, sticky and cold.

The boys who were called didn't dare to look at him. Relying on the teacher's support, they lowered their heads and rushed forward.

The volleyball slipped out of his hand, bounced twice on the blue plastic floor, and rolled a long way.

The fabric of the sportswear is very slippery.

There are cameras everywhere on the playground. Fighting back will be considered a fight and will be recorded clearly.

Xu Jiqing's jaw muscles were tensed, and his fingertips were trembling slightly, but he still couldn't resist the two boys pulling upwards with all their strength. After holding on for a while, his sleeves were pulled up.

The loose-fitting jacket was piled high above the elbows.

The moment the two boys moved away, the surrounding students opened their eyes wide.

Xu Jiqing's skin is very white, which makes the layers of scars look even more terrifying.

Especially the right arm.

Apart from the exaggerated special effects makeup in stage plays, who among these ordinary children has ever seen a wound that is 20 centimeters long?
