Chapter 65 An Organization that Kidnaps Multiple People

Chapter 65 An Organization that Kidnaps Multiple People

The old-fashioned doorbell on the door of Poirot Cafe rings softly from time to time, and customers come and go in an endless stream, showing that the business inside is booming and Miss Xiaozi is very busy.

Kenji Hagiwara sat opposite Gu Ze and Conan, watching the young man and the child eat cake, while Jinpei Matsuda, wearing sunglasses, propped his hand up and looked out the window at the scenery.

Don't ask why Matsuda Jinpei still wears sunglasses indoors; he does it because he wants to.

"You mean you're investigating a theft case!"

Gu Ze scooped up a spoonful of chocolate cake, happily put it in his mouth, and enjoyed the feeling of the cream melting inside.

"Yes."

“My client is the chief physician at a private hospital. Three days ago, he lost something very important, so he asked me to retrieve it.”

"Brother Gu Ze, is the woman you were following the one you suspect?" Conan had already devoured all the cake on his plate and was trying his best to act like a primary school student.

"Yes, you're so smart, Conan! You're so smart, it's unbelievable for a kid your age!" Gu Ze patted Conan's head, his words carrying a hidden meaning.

If it weren't for Kenji Hagiwara and Jinpei Matsuda standing nearby, Conan would definitely have rolled his eyes at Gu Ze.

"Conan, would you like another piece of cake?" Kenji Hagiwara glanced at the plate in front of him and asked with a smile.

"No need, thank you, Officer Hagiwara!" Conan said in a strained voice.

To apologize to Gu Ze, Kenji Hagiwara and Jinpei Matsuda had no choice but to pay for Gu Ze to eat cake, and Conan, being a child, was also lucky enough to get one.

"It's alright, you're a child, it's okay for you to eat a little more." Kenji Hagiwara waved his hand.

After swallowing the last piece of cake, Gu Zekong pushed the plate away, saying, "He doesn't want it, but I do."

"Gu Ze, you're not a child anymore, why are you eating so much!" Matsuda Jinpei took off his sunglasses and complained speechlessly.

"You're wrong. It's bad for kids' teeth to eat too many sweets, but I'm an adult, it's different for me," Gu Ze said shamelessly. "Besides, who taught you two idiots to ruin my work?"

Ultimately, Matsuda Jinpei admitted his mistake, reluctantly went to the counter and ordered another cake. When the cake arrived, the group continued their previous conversation.

"The cakes at this cafe are really good," Gu Ze praised.

"Speaking of which, why didn't your client call the police?" Kenji Hagiwara noticed something suspicious.

"I'm not quite sure, but I guess it's something the police don't want to know about," Gu Ze said, biting his spoon, a sly glint in his eyes.

Everyone present was intelligent, so they naturally understood the meaning behind Gu Ze's words: the lost item could not be known to others, which was why the client had secretly hired a private investigator.

Matsuda Jinpei immediately became interested and asked, "Which hospital does your client work at? What's his name?"

"He gave me a lot of money and asked me to keep it a secret. I've already taken the money, and I don't go back on my promises." Gu Ze refused to answer the question.

"Please, we can find out even if you don't tell us, so you might as well tell us now."

"You can't pry my mouth open. I have professional ethics!" Gu Ze said firmly.

"Huh! Professional ethics?" Matsuda Jinpei's eyes widened in disbelief as he met Gu Ze's gaze; it was as if lightning was striking their eyes together.

For the next ten minutes or so, Kenji Hagiwara, Jinpei Matsuda, and Conan tried to get information out of Gu Ze, but they were all seen through.

"Hey, don't waste your time, I'm not going to tell you." Gu Ze calmly licked the cream off his spoon. "But don't worry, once my investigation is over, if I find anything illegal or disorderly, I promise I'll call the police immediately."

"Officers, you should worry about your work. It's already 2:30 in the afternoon."

"Oh! It's so late!" Kenji Hagiwara exclaimed. Sure enough, slacking off makes people lose track of time. "We have to go, Jinpei."

"See you next time then." Gu Ze waved and added, "Don't forget to pay the bill."

Matsuda Jinpei looked annoyed and wanted to say a few more words, but Hagiwara Kenji pulled him away, saying, "Let's go, let's go, Jinpei-kun."

After the two left, only Gu Ze and Conan Edogawa remained in their seats. The black-haired youth put down his spoon, rubbed his stomach, and slumped contentedly into his chair.

"Hey, those two are gone. Can you tell me about your case?" Conan finally didn't have to strain his voice anymore. He looked at Gu Ze, hoping the other party could give him an answer.

"Stop focusing on just one case. Don't you want to know about the cases Hagiwara and Matsuda are working on? Their cases are much more interesting than mine." Gu Ze quickly shifted Conan's focus with a few words.

"Theirs?" Conan tilted his head, his eyes filled with eager curiosity.

“Yes, there have been several missing persons cases recently.” Gu Ze looked at Conan with a smile. “Yamagami Shunno, who lives on the next street, is one of the missing persons. Hagiwara and the others should be going to his house now.”

"You know that too!" Conan was somewhat surprised, but then he thought that if the other party could forge such a convincing identity, they must have their own intelligence network.

[Ding! Shinichi Kudo has gained a deeper understanding of your abilities. Shinichi Kudo's approval rating +5, currently at 20.]

"I know more than that, Great Detective," Gu Ze said smugly, tilting his head back. "The kidnapping wasn't committed by a single person, but rather..."

"An organization"

"The organization!" Conan's pupils constricted as he recalled the black-clad organization that had shrunk him.

"Smack!"

Ouch!

Gu Ze slapped Conan hard on the head. "It's not the Black Organization you're thinking of, it's another one."

"Moreover, this organization has only just been established and is extremely small. Compared to the Black Organization, it's not even an ant."

"Ouch, ouch, ouch! You can't hit my head like that!" Conan Edogawa hugged his head with his little arms and stared at Gu Ze with a mournful expression.

Faced with Conan's accusation, Gu Ze didn't take it seriously. "I just wanted to tell you not to be so paranoid and suspicious."

In the dark side of the world, there are all sorts of criminal organizations lurking, and the Black Organization is just one of them.

"How do you know so much?" Conan asked, voicing a question that had been lingering in his mind for a long time.

"Want to know? Oh well, I'm not telling you!" Gu Ze's tone was arrogant, making people grit their teeth in anger. "I'm leaving. Don't idolize me too much, you great detective."

Without saying another word, he got up to leave, leaving behind a mysterious and unpredictable silhouette.

Just as Gu Ze was about to leave the coffee shop, Conan caught up with him and called out, "Wait a minute, Brother Gu Ze, where are you going? Are you going to investigate a case? Can you take me with you?"

"No, I'm going home. Not working after 3 a.m. is my motto," Gu Ze explained.

Having shed his identity as Kurosawa Jin and donned a disguise, Kurosawa Jin experienced a rare sense of freedom. He began to indulge in all sorts of self-expression. It can be said that Gu Ze's personality is a reflection of the deepest part of Kurosawa Jin's soul.

He seemed to have put on a disguise, but in reality, he had shed his pretense...

The setting sun hung on the western horizon, its orange-red glow illuminating the earth and casting an orange filter over the concrete road.

"Hmph~ Hmph~" Gu Ze hummed a cheerful little tune as he walked home.

A row of small villas came into view in the distance. Gu Ze passed the gate of the Kudo family's house and walked towards the house next door.

In front of the villa's large iron gate, Gu Ze, as usual, took out a small bunch of keys, preparing to insert them into the keyhole of the gate.

At the same time, a van slowly drove up from behind him. It looked like an ordinary van passing by. Suddenly, the van stopped a meter away from Gu Ze.

Before Gu Ze could react, two men quickly got out of the van, one tall and thin, the other with a scar on his face.

The two men had a clear objective and approached aggressively, heading straight for Gu Ze.

"What are you trying to do?" Gu Ze realized what was happening, took a step back, and raised his hands in a defensive stance.

The tall, thin man and the scarred man each held one of the two men on either side, restraining the frail young man.

"Ding-dong!" The keychain in Gu Ze's hand fell from mid-air and landed on the ground with a crisp sound.

"Let me go! Let me go!" Gu Ze struggled violently, using all his strength to break free of his restraints.

He swung his arms, delivering a beautiful elbow strike to the tall, thin man's abdomen with his right arm, and then kicked the scarred man's groin with his right foot.

In order to avoid becoming childless, the scarred man had no choice but to release Gu Ze, which gave Gu Ze a chance to escape.

Gu Ze turned around and ran to Professor Agasa's house for help, taking out his phone as he ran to call the police.

"Whoosh!" The tranquilizer dart shot out from the gun and hit Gu Ze squarely in the neck.

In less than a second, Gu Ze's vision spun around, and before he lost consciousness, he only saw his phone and a pair of high heels lying on the ground.

"Two good-for-nothings who can't even handle such a small matter, what use are you!" The woman was still dressed in her daytime attire, her yellow bodycon skirt highlighting her figure.

"Sister-in-law, you're the best!" the scarred man said obsequiously.

Kuraki Koori put away the tranquilizer gun, looked coldly at the young man on the ground, and said, "Take him to the car."

Two men, acting like underlings, dutifully carried Gu Ze's body and threw him into the trunk of the van.

After completing these steps, the tall, thin man entered the driver's seat and saw that Kuraki Koori was already seated in the passenger seat.

"Let's go to the factory." Kuraki Koori opened her small handbag, took out a mirror, and began to touch up her makeup.

"Huh? But weren't they all going to the warehouse before?" the tall, thin man asked, puzzled.

"Just go when your sister-in-law tells you to, stop talking nonsense, Kawada!" The scarred man couldn't stand it anymore and spoke up to remind the tall, thin man.

Kuraki Koori closed the small mirror and explained, "This kid has already found out about me, so I can't let him live."

"I'll inform your older brother. For now, you just need to listen to me and stop asking unnecessary questions!"

"Otherwise, hmph, you know what will happen."

"Yes, sister-in-law." The two men were clearly intimidated by Kuraki Koori and obediently carried out her orders.
