Chapter 8 Acting, Kurosawa Gets Sniped Online
The weekend a few days later.
"I promised to fix it for you, and I will definitely do it." Matsuda Jinpei pushed Kurosawa Jin out of 302, then used his body to firmly block the door of 302. "Don't worry, that ornament is almost half finished."
"Let me take a look, it won't hurt. Maybe I can even help you." Kurosawa Jin frowned, his face full of doubt. "You didn't... because you can't fix it..."
"How could that be!" Matsuda Jinpei pretended to be angry, but actually wanted to avoid Kurosawa Jin's question.
"and you……"
"Ahem, since there's nothing else, I'll get back to work." He interrupted Kurosawa Jin.
With a loud bang, Matsuda Jinpei ruthlessly shut Kurosawa Jin out of the room.
Matsuda Jinpei let out a long sigh, but then, thinking of the various ornaments still scattered on the table, he scratched his hair in extreme frustration.
Outside the door, Kurosawa Jin was already well aware of Matsuda Jinpei's predicament, but he simply didn't want to point it out.
The broken ornament was already difficult to repair, and with Matsuda Jinpei dropping it, whether it could be repaired at all became even more questionable.
"Alright, alright, I won't ask anymore. Open the door, I have something to tell you," Kurosawa Jin said loudly.
After a long while, Matsuda Jinpei, with his hair in a mess, opened the door, his face full of impatience, as if to say, "Spit it out already."
Kurosawa Jin raised his arm, revealing the key in his left hand. "Here's the key to 301, a spare."
"If I go to the police academy for training in a few months, you and the second-year graduate students should remember to take care of Tuanzi and the others for me."
"You passed the exam?" Matsuda Jinpei's mouth dropped open in surprise. "Wasn't the exam still a few months away?"
"It was bound to happen sooner or later, consider this an advance notice." Kurosawa Jin smiled confidently.
"If anything happens in the future or I need to go on a trip, I'll leave my house in your care with you and the second-year graduate student."
Matsuda Jinpei took the keys and said irritably, "I'm telling you, I haven't seen you study properly these past few days. With so little time left, are you sure you can handle it?"
"Relax, relax, no problem. I'm just going to buy books for the civil service exam to prepare." Kurosawa Jin was confident, patting his chest to indicate that everything was fine.
Matsuda Jinpei: No, you haven't bought the books at all! There's no way you'll pass the exam!
Kurosawa Jin chatted with him for a couple more minutes, then left for the bookstore under Matsuda Jinpei's speechless gaze.
——
Carrying a bag of books and a bag of fresh vegetables, Kurosawa Jin walked out of the market, ready to go home and cook.
He walked casually down the street, but in reality, he knew his surroundings perfectly well; two mice were following him.
Just then, a young man dressed in casual clothes, carrying a lunchbox, appeared from across the street. He had a pair of very distinctive, upturned, gray-blue phoenix eyes.
"Here it comes," Kurosawa Jin thought to himself, "the timing is perfect."
"Oh dear! I almost forgot to buy soy sauce." He suddenly stopped, realizing he had forgotten something important.
How can you cook without soy sauce? You absolutely must buy this soy sauce.
Kurosawa Jin looked around and was quite "unexpected" to find a convenience store right in front of him.
Inside the store, a blond, dark-skinned high school student is diligently serving the local customers.
It's such a coincidence that I ran into Red Fang while just going out to buy groceries (not really).
It's lunchtime now. After a morning of work, most office workers will eat the lunch they brought with them, while others will choose to buy lunch at a convenience store.
The small convenience store was bustling with people, but not crowded.
As soon as the bell rang, another customer walked into the convenience store. This customer had silver-white, medium-length hair, wore a white striped shirt, and had a pair of rare green eyes that were so striking that it was hard to look away.
"Welcome." Rei Furuya maintained his professional fake smile, welcoming each guest.
Kurosawa Jin nodded and smiled in response, then turned to select items from the shelves.
Following closely behind Kurosawa Jin, Morofushi Kagemitsu carried a bento box and pushed open the door to enter.
"Welcome, light... Huh? Hiro?" Rei Furuya was about to say his lines, but when he saw the person's face, he swallowed his words.
"Hiro, what brings you here?"
"Of course I'm bringing you a bento box!" Morofushi Kagemitsu held up the bento box in his hand and showed it to Furuya Rei.
"Didn't I say I didn't need it?" Furuya Rei took the bento and placed it on the unused table next to him. There were too many customers now, so it wasn't convenient to eat it.
Morofushi Kagemitsu walked into the cashier area with practiced ease and stood next to Furuya Rei. "I was just killing time on the weekend anyway, so I came to see you. Maybe I can help out."
Behind the shelf, he secretly watched the various movements of Furuya Rei and Morofushi Kagemitsu, feeling inexplicably like a voyeur.
Ahem, back to the main topic, the timing is just right.
To attract the attention of two men who are having a pleasant conversation, you need to use the right voice.
"Clang!" A glass bottle of soy sauce fell off the shelf and crashed to the ground.
Brown soy sauce gushed out from the crack in the bottle, and in an instant, the rich aroma of soy sauce filled the air.
Rei Furuya reacted quickly, signaling to Kagemitsu Morofushi to handle the cash register while he grabbed a mop and rag from the side to deal with the situation.
"Sir, are you alright?"
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to. I accidentally touched it when I was getting the soy sauce."
Actually, it was intentional...
Kurosawa Jin was flustered. He put a full bag of vegetables on the ground, took out a handkerchief to help Furuya Rei clean up the ground, and kept apologizing.
He seemed unaware that he was pulling out his handkerchief so quickly that the apartment key fell out along with it.
"Your key." Furuya Rei picked it up and handed it to Kurosawa Jin.
"Oh dear, when did it fall out?" Kurosawa Jin quickly apologized.
A few minutes later, with the sound of glass clattering together, the remains of the bottle were dumped into the trash can.
The ground was clean, but the smell of soy sauce lingered in the air.
"I'm sorry for troubling you. I'll pay for this bottle of soy sauce," Kurosawa Jin said again, full of apology.
"It's alright." Furuya Rei looked up at the handsome customer, whose sincere apology left a good impression on Furuya Rei.
Kurosawa Jin picked up the vegetables from the floor and reached for the soy sauce again.
“Let me help you, sir,” Furuya Rei said, his excellent professionalism prompting him to speak.
Damaging items in a convenience store isn't a big deal, as long as you pay for it.
The two went to the cashier, paid double the price for the soy sauce, and then Kurosawa Jin left with his little soy sauce.
This was just a minor incident in the store. Kurosawa Jin was just an ordinary customer whose name didn't need to be known, or at least that's what Furuya Rei thought.
until……
A passerby said, "Hey, you've put this bag of vegetables in the aisle, it's blocking the way!"
"Huh? What? A bag of vegetables?" Furuya Rei blinked his beady eyes, completely bewildered.
All I saw was a large bag of vegetables and a bag of books lying forlornly in the aisle, as if accusing their owner of heartless abandonment.
The bag tilted slightly, and a yellowish-brown potato slipped out and rolled to the side of the shelf. Morofushi Kagemitsu picked up the potato and put it back.
"This doesn't belong to that gentleman, does it?" he guessed.
“He hasn’t been gone long, he should still be nearby.” Rei Furuya picked up the things and walked towards the shop door. “Hiro, can you watch the shop for me? I’ll be right back.”
“Okay,” Moribu Kagemitsu replied.
My childhood friend works part-time at a convenience store, and he's helped me out before, so it's no problem to hand it over to him.
The main road was crowded with people, but there was no sign of the white-haired figure. How could anyone find him?
Furuya Rei carefully recalled the various details of Kurosawa Jin's formation, when suddenly a flash of inspiration struck him.
“His key had ‘Mihua Apartments’ engraved on it.” He found the blind spot.
To get from the convenience store where Rei Furuya is located to the Beika Apartment, you need to walk 20 meters and turn into a quiet little street.
Go to that little street, and you should be able to run into Kurosawa Jin.
As Furuya Rei pondered, he ran towards that small street.
This narrow street rarely sees vehicles, has few pedestrians, and is surrounded by struggling shops.
This was the spot that Kurosawa Jin was most satisfied with when he scouted it out that day. A few scattered people could act as eyewitnesses, and at the same time, it wouldn't cause panic, since a huge crowd disturbance could easily ruin the plan.
The play finally began when Rei Furuya walked into this small street.
"Sir! Sir!" Furuya Rei ran all the way and finally saw Kurosawa Jin's back.
You forgot your things!
Upon hearing Furuya Rei's shouts, Kurosawa Jin turned around and finally realized his foolish behavior.
"Ah, I'm so sorry!" Kurosawa Jin was ashamed as any ordinary person would be in such a situation.
He quickly took the bag from the panting Rei Furuya, forcing an awkward smile and apologizing profusely.
"Oh my god, my memory is terrible, I've troubled you to make this trip."
"Haha, it's nothing."
"To express my apology, I can treat you to dinner," Kurosawa Jin sincerely invited.
"That won't be necessary..."
On the rooftop of a distant high-rise building, Tanaka Hitomi was intently watching through his scope as Kurosawa Jin and Furuya Rei were exchanging pleasantries and pleasantries.
Tanaka Hitomi wasn't the only one watching them from this area; there was also the second assassin of Beika and his underlings, the one who had been beaten so badly by Tanaka that day.
Snake One lay in ambush in a deserted alley ahead, while Mika's second assassin followed closely behind Kurosawa Jin, waiting for him to be alone.
Of course, there are also people hiding in the shadows, spying in front of the screen...
At this moment, it seemed that the two were about to say goodbye and leave. Kurosawa Jin smiled and turned around, raising his left hand and inexplicably pinching his earlobe.
Tanaka Hitomi was waiting for this signal. He smiled with interest and pulled the trigger.
"Bang—"
A bullet was fired from the barrel and reached Kurosawa Jin in just a few seconds.
"Pfft!"
In an instant, Kurosawa Jin's right arm was torn open, and the bright red blood was very conspicuous, quickly soaking his white shirt.
"Bang!" The bullet pierced through his arm and then through a vase displayed outside a nearby flower shop.
The beautiful roses lay on the ground along with the shattered vase.
"Bang!" Another bullet struck the ground.
Rei Furuya was stunned. Who would have thought that a simple delivery would turn into a shooting?!
