Chapter 55 The Death of Morofushi Kagemitsu 1

Chapter 55 The Death of Morofushi Kagemitsu 1

December 17, 00:00

Even though it was still the middle of the night and most people were still asleep, the boss of the Black Organization sent a shocking message to the phones of every codenamed member.

Tonight is destined to be a sleepless night!

[Scotland is a Japanese Public Security mole; everyone must immediately surround and eliminate him! —BOSS]

Kurosawa Jin looked at the message and a smile crept onto his face. This was exactly the moment he had been waiting for.

He immediately summoned the members of the action team to Morifushi Kagemitsu's safe house.

"I never expected that Scottish guy to be an undercover agent," Chianti's voice came through the earpiece. "I was hoping to test my marksmanship with him, but it looks like that's not going to happen!"

“Why don’t we have a contest to see who can kill Scotland first!” Chianti suggested.

“I remember, Ray is closest to the rat’s lair, so he should get there before us,” Coron, who was driving, reminded Chianti.

"I just finished a mission, and I'm quite far from there," Akai Hide said as he sped along the road.

He said this on the surface, but he was actually lying. Shuichi Akai is currently closest to Kagemitsu Morofushi's safe house.

To be honest, Shuichi Akai wasn't too surprised when he learned that Hiromitsu Morofushi was an undercover agent.

Judging from the incident where he and Morofushi Kagemitsu met his younger sister, Sera Masumi, at the train station, Morofushi Kagemitsu was not someone the organization could train.

Shuichi Akai sped up, hoping to get there before others and help Kagemitsu Morofushi escape.

"Screech—" Shuichi Akai slammed on the brakes and brought the vehicle to a stop.

When he got out of the car, he saw a Porsche speeding past him.

"Oh no, I'm late!" Shuichi Akai thought to himself, and he reluctantly got out of the car.

Gin will definitely hear what he says to Chianti through the earpiece, and Gin will suspect him.

Sure enough, Kurosawa Jin took out his beloved gun, cocked it, and said, "Ray, you shouldn't be the first one here."

After a few seconds of brainstorming, Shuichi Akai explained, "Of course, we can't be careless when it comes to eliminating rats."

Kurosawa Jin snorted coldly and said, "Since you're so enthusiastic, then you can kill Scotland."

After saying that, he tossed a pistol to Shuichi Akai, saying, "Let me see if your skills have improved."

Shuichi Akai remained silent and could only accept the mission.

"It seems I can't save Scotland," he thought, picking up his pistol and walking into the apartment building first.

It would be unwise to expose oneself to save a Japanese policeman; there will always be sacrifices on this path.

"Bang!" The door to the Scottish safe house was kicked open mercilessly, only to find the room completely empty.

"Brother, there's no one in that room inside," Vodka said to Kurosawa Jin after searching the room.

"Send people to search this area. If he just left, he can't have gone far."

"Yes." Vodka hurried out to carry out the order.

"Ha, cunning rat."

The brim of the top hat concealed Kurosawa Jin's eyes in shadow, making it impossible for Akai Shuichi to discern his expression, and he dared not make any rash moves.

“There’s a rat in the organization, tipping him off!” Kurosawa Jin said to himself.

Before Scotland knew he had been exposed, they could have captured him in one fell swoop. However, Scotland unexpectedly escaped, which clearly indicated that someone was passing on the message.

Kurosawa Jin stared at Akai Shuichi as if he were the mouse.

The Whiskey Trio joined the organization around the same time and received codenames for the same mission. It's fair to say that Shuichi Akai and Rei Furuya are the most likely suspects.

At that moment, Rei Furuya appeared in their field of vision.

"Bourbon from the intelligence team, what are you doing here?"

Rei Furuya's arrival undoubtedly increased the suspicion surrounding him.

Hunting down traitors is usually the job of the action team. Although the BOSS sent the information to all codename members, the mission was defaulted to Gin's action team.

Moreover, no one dared to snatch the undercover agent from Gin, that rat-killing maniac.

Upon seeing Kurosawa Jin, Furuya Rei's heart sank.

“I joined the organization in the same batch as Scotland. Since he’s an undercover agent, I should kill him with my own hands!” Furuya Rei said viciously.

"Too bad you're too late, Scotland has already escaped," Shuichi Akai interjected.

"What!" Furuya Rei feigned surprise, but secretly rejoiced.

"Brother, we haven't found any trace of Scotland around here," Vodka reported as he ran back to Kurosawa Jin after giving his order.

"Useless trash!" Kurosawa Jin roared, striking a menacing pose as if he were about to kill someone.

He turned on his headset and said, "Scotland ran away. Whoever kills Scotland first gets the credit!"

Everyone present, as well as other members of the action team on the way, heard Kurosawa Jin's resounding words.

Chianti's excited cheers forced Kurosawa to turn off his headset.

Before long, news of Morofushi Kagemitsu's escape and Kurosawa Jin's promise spread within the organization.

If a member without a code name can kill Scotland, they will definitely be promoted to a code name member. If a code name member can complete this mission, there will be many benefits.

In short, apart from Shuichi Akai and Rei Furuya, who were among the undercover agents, everyone thought this was a celebration for the organization.

December 16, 22:30, before Morofushi Kagemitsu was exposed.

While Kurosawa Jin was chatting with Zhang Tongri, the police were already on their way to take action.

With Number Three around, Morofushi Kagemitsu would definitely be exposed. Therefore, Kurosawa Jin informed Kuroda Heibei in advance, asking him to protect Morofushi Kagemitsu.

"Knock knock knock!" An unexpected knock on the door interrupted Morofushi Kagemitsu, who was writing a mission report.

A sense of unease rose within him. He picked up the pistol from the table and stealthily approached the door.

All around was quiet, and Morobushi Kagemitsu could clearly hear his own heartbeat.

He looked through the peephole and saw a burly, unfamiliar man standing outside the door.

"who?"

"Open the door, I am One-Eyed." After saying this, the man took out his identification, fearing that Morofushi Kagemitsu would not believe him.

Morobuchi Kagemitsu had heard of the code name "One-Eyed"; it was a very high-ranking code name within the Public Security Bureau.

As soon as he opened the door, Kuroda Hyōe across from him solemnly told him, "Morofushi Kagemitsu, you are about to be exposed. I need to terminate your undercover mission."

"You must move quickly!"

Upon hearing this, Morobushi Kagemitsu's heart leaped into his throat. He had no time to think; obeying orders from superiors was a basic quality of a policeman.

"Yes," Morofushi Kagemitsu replied, quickly returning to his room to pack up some crucial documents and take them with him.

Within five minutes, the safe house was empty.

This happened so suddenly that it took Morofushi Kagemitsu a long time to recover his thoughts after sitting in Kuroda Heiwa's car.

"that……"

“Just call me by my code name, One-Eyed,” Kuroda Hyoue said.

"One-Eyed Senior, how did you know I was about to be exposed?" Morofushi Kagemitsu boldly guessed, "Did a senior in the organization tell you?"

"Yes, he messaged me and asked me to move you to a safe place."

"It really is him," Morofushi Kagemitsu thought to himself. He had still caused trouble for his senior. He wondered if that senior was in danger.

A sense of self-blame enveloped Morofushi Kagemitsu, as melancholic and dark as the night outside the window.

At 23:30, Kuroda Hyōe brought Morofushi Kagemitsu to a small inn in the suburbs.

“This hotel is a security outpost of the Public Security Bureau, and we have people watching the area.” Kuroda Hyōe walked ahead of Morofushi Kagemitsu.

"For the next period of time, you will have to stay here until the crisis is over. Then I will arrange a new identity for you."

The two entered a dark room, with all the windows covered by curtains.

"Don't worry, it's very safe here." Kuroda Hyōe turned on the light and poured a glass of water for Morofushi Kagemitsu. "Someone will bring you food every day, so you can stay here without worry."

Have you had dinner yet?

Morofushi Kagemitsu thought for a moment and said, "Uh, no."

"I'll get you some food." Kuroda Hyōe was about to get up when Morofushi Kagemitsu stopped him.

"No need, One-Eyes Senior, I'm not hungry."

“You’re not hungry, but I am. I haven’t had dinner either.” Kuroda Hyōe said as he walked to the door and opened it. “Young man, you should eat properly.”

Not long after, Kuroda returned with two bento boxes.

Unable to refuse such hospitality, Morofushi Kagemitsu had no choice but to comply with Kuroda Hyōe's wishes and wolf down his meal.

He placed the empty bento box aside and looked up at Kuroda Heibei, who was eating tamagoyaki.

"Um, One-Eyes-senpai, I want to know why I was exposed."

Moribushi Kagemitsu voiced his doubts, unable to understand why he, who had infiltrated so well, had been exposed.

“It’s not your problem.” Kuroda Hyoue put down his chopsticks. “We haven’t investigated the specific reasons yet, but we already have some suspicions.”

"There's a mole within the Public Security Bureau," Kuroda Hyōe said solemnly.

"Don't worry, only a small number of people here know, you are safe now."

"What about that senior? Will he be implicated because of me?" Morofushi Kagemitsu pressed.

Kuroda Hyōe considered Kurosawa Jin's position within the organization.

Even if Kurosawa Jin lets Morofushi Kagemitsu go in front of the BOSS, the BOSS will only praise Kurosawa Jin for playing the long game.

“That’s not something you need to worry about. He’s perfectly safe.” Kuroda patted Morofushi Kagemitsu on the shoulder. “As long as you’re not caught, that’s all that matters.”

"Yes!" Upon hearing Kuroda Hyōe's words, Morofushi Kagemitsu nodded solemnly.

The two chatted for several more minutes, during which Morofushi Kagemitsu reported the information he had obtained while undercover to Kuroda Hyoue.

After Kuroda Hyōe left, only Morofushi Kagemitsu remained in the room.

What happened in those few hours was so sudden that a sense of escaping death swept through Morofushi Kagemitsu's mind.

Looking around the empty yet tightly sealed space, Morofushi Kagemitsu prayed that nothing unexpected would happen next!
