Chapter 32 Chapter 32 Hug and talk

Wait for Pei Shuyu to wake up again.

He was already lying on a soft bed, which should be the homestay booked by Lu Hean.

He got up and found that he had changed into a comfortable T-shirt.

Looking around, the room was cozy and comfortable, with warm-toned wooden furniture and off-white, slightly translucent curtains that fluttered gently in the sea breeze.

Pei Shuyu supported his still sore waist and sat up.

He threw back the covers, carefully moved his legs, and slowly walked to the patio door, holding onto the wall. Pushing open the glass door, the sea breeze immediately hit him, blowing away the last bit of sleepiness he had.

Suddenly, the view became clear.

The terrace faces the vast sea.

It was evening, and the setting sun was slowly sinking into the horizon, dyeing the entire sky and sea a magnificent orange-red.

A few late-returning seagulls cried and drew graceful arcs in the brilliant sunset glow.

The beach in the distance appeared a warm light golden color in the twilight, and the waves gently beat against the shore, making a rhythmic and soothing sound.

Pei Shuyu watched in ecstasy, his gaze following the seagulls until the flock disappeared. He took a deep breath, feeling the cool, moist air fill his chest.

Just then, there were light footsteps and the sound of a glass door being opened behind me.

"Brother, are you awake? Why didn't you call me? Be careful with your legs." Lu Hean's voice came with a smile, and he sounded in a good mood.

Pei Shuyu turned around and saw Lu Hean walking in with a wooden tray.

On the tray sat two glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice and a large plate of cut fruit, all vibrant and fresh. The fruit seemed to still be dripping with moisture, glistening enticingly in the afterglow of the setting sun.

"Are you hungry? Eat some fruit first. Dinner will have to wait a while." Lu Hean placed the tray on the small round table on the terrace gently.

"Thank you." Pei Shuyu looked at the exquisite plate of fruit, feeling a little embarrassed. "Thank you for your help."

"No trouble." Lu Hean picked up a small piece of mango with a bamboo skewer and handed it to Pei Shuyu naturally. "Try it, it's fresh and very sweet. Do you think I should get some bone soup or something? It's good for healing the wound."

The feeding action was too intimate, and Pei Shuyu subconsciously wanted to turn his head away: "I, I can do it myself..." He reached out to grab the bamboo stick.

Lu Hean avoided his hand and stubbornly pushed the mango forward, almost touching Pei Shuyu's lips.

He tilted his head slightly, the afterglow of the setting sun reflected in his clear eyes, with a bit of boyish persistence and a hint of coquettish expectation, "Your hands are inconvenient, I will feed you. Open your mouth, ah——"

Pei Shuyu looked at his hand so close to him, the words of refusal rolling in his throat, but he finally gave in to Lu Hean's gaze. He opened his mouth slightly stiffly.

Lu Hean smiled with satisfaction and carefully placed the cool, sweet mango into his mouth. His other hand reached out and gently brushed Pei Shuyu's lower lip, seemingly inadvertently.

"Is it sweet?" Lu Hean asked, his eyes following Pei Shuyu closely.

Pei Shuyu chewed the sweet and sticky fruit flesh in his mouth and replied vaguely: "Hmm, sweet."

It was sweet, but his attention was not on the fruit at the moment. Lu Hean looked at him with a smile on his face, which made his heart beat a little disorderly.

He quickly shifted his gaze and looked back at the sea burned by the sunset, trying to use the magnificent scenery to calm the strangeness in his heart.

Lu Hean didn't seem to notice his discomfort. He picked up a piece of watermelon and ate it himself. Then he naturally picked up a piece of strawberry and handed it to Pei Shuyu's mouth again.

"Brother Shuyu," he said in a chatty tone as he fed her, his voice ringing clearly in the gentle sea breeze. "I'll introduce you to a friend tonight." His gaze also turned toward the sea, the warm glow of the setting sun framing his handsome profile. "I'll take you for a walk, too."

Pei Shuyu paused chewing, the complex emotions that had just been blown away by the sea breeze quietly welling up again. He swallowed the strawberry and didn't answer immediately.

Lu Hean seemed oblivious to his emotions and handed him another grape before turning his head and looking back at Pei Shuyu. His eyes were particularly deep in the twilight, carrying an emotion that Pei Shuyu couldn't fully understand. He said softly, "Haicheng, isn't it beautiful? Can we come here more often in the future?"

His voice was not loud, but it was like a stone thrown into a calm lake, creating ripples in Pei Shuyu's heart.

The sea breeze seemed to be quiet for a moment, leaving only the eternal chanting of the waves in the distance.

Pei Shuyu looked into Lu Hean's eyes, which reflected the rosy clouds in the sky, as well as his own somewhat dazed shadow.

He opened his mouth, but the words of promise could not come out, as if they were blocked in his throat by the sea breeze.

To be honest, he didn't want to go for a walk or meet Lu Hean's friends. The more people knew about their relationship, the more it would end, which would not be good for Lu Hean.

Pei Shuyu pursed his lips and lowered his head to stir the juice in the cup.

Lu Hean already knew his answer, and just pulled the corner of his mouth forcefully.

"I thought about it and decided to forget it. I might have a lot of classes in the future, so I probably won't have much time. Only my freshman year is better now."

These words gave Pei Shuyu enough room to maneuver, and he breathed a sigh of relief. After all, he had no idea how to refuse Lu Hean. If Lu Hean acted like that again, he might actually agree.

At first, the two of them were doing their own things in the room, but later Lu Hean took the initiative to find topics to talk about.

"Why do you want to enter Sevan?"

Pei Shuyu, half leaning against the headboard due to his leg injury, felt Lu Hean's warmth approaching him and didn't shy away. He thought carefully, his eyes becoming firm and bright, and answered frankly: "In order to stop the weak from being bullied, I want to become the kind of force that can protect others."

Lu Hean listened quietly, his head tilted, his chin resting on Pei Shuyu's shoulder, his arms wrapped around Pei Shuyu's waist. From this angle, he could clearly see Pei Shuyu's resolute profile. He asked softly, "But there are so many unfair things happening in the world every day. Can I handle it all?"

Pei Shuyu didn't respond immediately after hearing this, but instead began to think seriously. He looked out the window at the deepening dusk on the sea, the orange-red being swallowed up bit by bit by the deep blue.

After a moment, he spoke, "If this world is full of injustice, then I want to find a way to change it, and then influence others in my own way. Sevan is the way I want."

The sea breeze seemed to have become a little cooler, blowing the loose hair on Lu Hean's forehead.

He looked at Pei Shuyu and was silent for a few seconds.

Then, he slowly stood up, distanced himself from Pei Shuyu, his eyes becoming somewhat complicated as he slowly asked, "What if you find out in the end that Saifan isn't it?"
