Chapter 157 Institutional Reform
"Ahem—Quiet! Quiet! Be patient!"
Dumbledore cast a sound-enhancing spell at his throat, signaling the professors to come down and separate the students.
"I just wanted to say that we still have some awards to give out—"
Suddenly, a huge trophy as tall as half a person's body appeared on the podium, with the Hogwarts emblem engraved on it.
"The list of winners of this award is very long -" Dumbledore shook out a piece of parchment and began to read the names on it, "Let us congratulate Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Dean from Gryffindor... Terry Boot, Luna Lovegood, Penelope from Ravenclaw..."
Jian Yu is very familiar with these names——
Most of them come from clubs, and recently they have become big Vs in The Daily Prophet and The Quibbler!
They wrote several marketing articles for the game console, and she almost thought she had bought the hot searches!
After an unknown amount of time, Dumbledore took a sip of water and continued reading:
"Susan Bones and Ernie Macmillan from Hufflepuff... Gemma Farley, Blaise Zabini, Draco Malfoy from Slytherin..."
After reading out sixty or seventy names, he finally stopped and smiled kindly:
"When faced with erroneous and unfair public opinion, you from different colleges have the courage to stand up and refute and correct it—"
"Being able to stand together and work together to resist external pressure and protect classmates——"
"For this reason, I will engrave your names on this trophy to commemorate and encourage everyone's unity!"
He waved his wand, and rows of names began to appear on the trophy.
The auditorium was silent for a few seconds. No one had thought that they would receive a trophy representing unity just for writing a few articles for Jian Yu and the game console. A look of confusion appeared on their faces.
But soon, they reacted, their bewilderment replaced by ecstasy, and they all exclaimed:
"Merlin - my name is engraved on a trophy? I won a prize?"
"I have no regrets in my death - maybe my future child will be able to see his father's name engraved on the trophy when he goes to school!"
At the Gryffindor table, Ron grabbed his arm and pinched it twice, muttering in disbelief:
"Why doesn't it hurt? I won a prize. Am I dreaming?"
Harry grimaced in pain and complained silently:
"No, this is not a dream, you pinched my arm."
Ron, waking up from a dream, apologized to him repeatedly.
"I'm sorry! But... Merlin's briefs... If it weren't for Yu... I don't think I would have won this award! She's really my lucky star!"
Harry was absolutely certain of what he said:
"If Malfoy and I were asked to play games in the same classroom and sign the same manuscript a year ago, I would probably think I was crazy!"
"But since this will help Jade--"
He was interrupted by Ron:
"So do you think my five brothers and one sister have a chance with Yu? Does she like guys with good grades or handsome and good-looking guys? I think I can become her family member—"
Before Harry could react, Hermione grabbed the chicken leg and stuffed it into his mouth.
"Ron Weasley! What are you making up?"
"I'm telling you, Jade has given me a purpose in life - I'm going to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement -"
"If you want to spread rumors about her, you must first ask the legal provisions in my hand!"
When she read the laws of the wizarding world, she found that there were very few punishment clauses for malicious defamation. When she was frustrated, she received comfort from Jian Yu:
"It doesn't matter. The law can be changed... the authority of the Director of Law Enforcement and the Wizengamot..."
Hermione immediately understood her intention!
Yu wants to fully explore his interest in law!
In the future, I can work in the Law Enforcement Department of the Ministry of Magic and devote myself to revising unreasonable legal provisions...
Maybe she can become a director one day...
Yu Ke is truly her guiding light!
And Ron Weasley, he actually dared to talk nonsense in front of her!
If he had offended her, he would have hit a brick wall!
"Uh... I didn't. I didn't..."
Ron has no way to defend himself as he only has the thigh-clinging and chicken-leg-holding version in his mind.
At the other end of the Slytherin table, Draco and Blaise had their heads almost raised to the sky, and they looked around the entire hall with arrogant eyes that looked down on everyone.
Draco ignored Daphne's glare and said smugly:
“I deserve this award!”
"My father admires Yu very much. He has already established connections with the Daily Prophet... win-win cooperation... Yu, don't you have anything to say?"
He looked at Jian Yu expectantly, with an expression seeking praise.
Jian Yu pressed his temple weakly:
"I really want to thank you both..."
Draco pursed his lips in dissatisfaction with her perfunctory response, but he soon came up with an idea:
"You haven't been to my house for half a year. My mother really wants to see you...mmmm..."
He was covered his mouth and stared at by a group of little snakes.
"Ahem! I want to let you know that there are some system changes in the school--"
Dumbledore cleared his throat loudly on the stage, successfully diverting everyone's attention and saving Draco who was almost suffocated.
"I think the system should keep pace with the times - this is about the game consoles that you are very concerned about -"
Everyone held their breath.
"The practice of professors and students has proved that as long as everyone uses it reasonably, it will be beneficial—"
"Therefore, the ban on bringing game consoles has been lifted. Starting from next school year, you can bring them to school—"
"However, due to your weak self-control, they must be handed in to the dean at the beginning of the semester, and the professors will cast a spell to limit the length of time they can be used!"
The cheers filled the entire auditorium. The students were so excited that their faces turned red. Many of them stood on the tables and began to dance, releasing their inner joy.
"Our club! We can continue to operate!"
"We can play openly from now on!"
"This is the reward for our hard work! If it weren't for those manuscripts, how could we have won the right to play the game console!"
Jian Yu was dumbfounded.
What about the agreement that students can skip classes, do homework, waste time studying, neglect sleep and food, which would harm their health?
Are the professors brainwashed by just a few articles?
Even the ban has been lifted?
Anti-addiction systems are out?
She wanted to go on stage and wake up Dumbledore:
Even game consoles can get a pass——
Hogwarts is really going to be ruined!
But before she could think about it, the excited club members quickly jumped off the table and rushed towards her, lifting her up and throwing her into the air.
"No, don't come over here--!"
"Help--"
Her helpless voice was drowned out by the crowd.
