Chapter 264 Bullying Students
"I can't believe this is us Slytherins - a night out on the first day of school -"
Draco stretched out a trembling finger, and spoke in disbelief as his career as a prefect had suffered a disastrous start.
His eyes scanned the black robes embroidered with silver and green stripes in disbelief, hoping that they would suddenly turn into red and yellow stripes.
Unfortunately, the robes did not change at all. Judging from the little snakes' lowered heads, it was obvious that they were not the little lions in disguise.
"Mafalda." Jane now fully understood how Jemma felt when she was in first grade. "Explain."
Mafalda Prewett, a second-year student among a group of cute new snakes, the child of Mrs. Weasley's distant Squib relative, raised her head tremblingly. She had very good grades and had received several potion lessons from Jian Yu, but she also had an almost morbid curiosity and a habit of showing off to attract other people's attention.
"I want to help them get familiar with the school." She blinked her watery eyes at Jian Yu in a pitiful manner, "I heard from seniors that you did the same thing back then, bravely challenging the three-headed dog on the first day of school - I want to admire your deeds -"
The boomerang from four years ago hit the bull's eye, and Jian Yu felt a pain in his knee.
But she was not someone who could be easily fooled. Even though Mafalda said so many nice things, she didn't think anyone would be stupid enough to break the school rules on the first day of school - unless they wanted to drop out like her.
"Really? Interesting explanation." Her eyes quickly locked onto a freshman. He lowered his head timidly, but his face was obviously bruised and red, and his back was slightly hunched. "Then how do you explain the injuries on his body?"
Mafalda froze, but another freshman quickly chimed in:
"That was...that was his family member who beat him!"
"How dare you lie to the prefect? Do you think we are blind or stupid?" Draco's eyes widened, and he quickly identified the traces of the spell, "Hot and scorching, a semi-finished product explosion spell..."
Jian Yu glanced at him, causing him to swallow in embarrassment.
These spells... were all ones he had used skillfully, so he recognized them very quickly.
This made Draco feel pain in his knees.
The little snakes were silent. No matter how much Draco asked, they kept silent, as if they thought they could escape death by keeping silent.
Jian Yu felt that this class of Slytherins seemed to be not very good. When they fought, they didn't even know how to fight in a place where they would not be caught.
"Since no one is willing to give a reasonable explanation," she became increasingly impatient and tapped her wand on her palm, "then I'm afraid I can only give each of you a hot fire to teach you a lesson—"
"I'll tell you, I'll tell you!" Mafalda gave in quickly. She pointed at the slightly curled up freshman, "I secretly heard that they were going to duel... fight - because his parents are both Muggles, so I thought of coming over to see -"
Jian Yu always felt like he had heard this story somewhere before.
She couldn't help but look at Draco again, and felt that the Slytherins today were really following the path taken by their predecessors.
——For example, the Draco 2.0s here.
Draco quickly recalled the dark history of his duel with Harry and Ron in his first year, and his knee hurt again and he began to get angry.
"Why didn't you report it to the prefect?" She shouted at him, who had plenty of experience in night wandering and committing crimes, "Why didn't you come here by yourself?"
Mafalda smiled ingratiatingly and began to talk expertly:
"I thought I could handle it. After all, they are just a few first years. If the professor knew about it, it would help us Slytherin get some points—"
She was glared at by Jian Yu, and quickly changed the subject:
"It would also give Malcolm and me some impression points—"
Another second-year snake, Malcolm Bardock, covered his face with his hands and groaned slightly at his friend's light-speed kneeling behavior.
"Would you believe me if I said we were primarily trying to help?"
But as soon as he finished speaking, perhaps because Draco, a pure-blood member of the Malfoy family, was present, a first-year student confidently retorted:
"He's a Mudblood! How can he learn magic! What's the difference between his parents and animals-!"
"And Mafalda Prewett, the Squib's daughter! An unclean person! Ouch—yue—yue—"
Jian Yu moved his fingers and washed his mouth with the dirty water, causing him to bend over and vomit continuously.
"Does the water taste good?" she asked coldly. "If you want to bring your extreme pure-blood superiority to me, or use it to show off your superiority in Hogwarts, then you've come to the wrong place."
The little snakes cried out in surprise and covered their mouths at once. This series of actions made them lose their breath and burp continuously.
Wandless magic...silent spells...what a terrible man!
The pale-faced little snake who was still retching looked at Draco for help, but he only got a cold look in return.
"Mr. Malfoy—are you—"
Jian Yu glanced over and Draco was shocked. He covered his mouth and refused to say a single extra word.
"If I were you, I would obey the words of a prefect who is more powerful than you." He warned, "If it were any other professor or prefect from another college, Slytherin would probably have deducted hundreds of points because of you, but luckily, you met us."
The first grade snakes looked pale, foreboding some punishment worse than point deduction.
"The hygiene of the Slytherin common room awaits you for the entire month," Jian Yu announced, "as well as the several nearby bathrooms. No magic is allowed."
She decided to assign them some toilet-sweeping tasks, letting them smell the scent to wake their brains and giving the house-elves a holiday.
The little snakes made choking sounds. The thought of having to spend time in the toilet made them feel terrified and they lined up in a single file and returned to the dormitory.
Clean the toilet, sweep the toilet...
When have they ever suffered such injustice!
......
After dealing with the chaos caused by the night out, Jian Yu returned to the dormitory and lay down, feeling upset.
Now she finally understood why second grader Mafalda Prewett was there.
With a Squib father and a Muggle mother, the little witch, despite having the surname Prewett, was bullied as soon as she entered Slytherin.
Although she cleverly struck up a conversation with her and saved herself with grades comparable to Hermione 2.0, this does not mean that every half-blood or Muggle-born wizard who entered Slytherin was like this.
Perhaps it was because she thought of the bullying she had experienced in the past and wanted to protect the Muggle-born first-year student that Mafalda chose to go with them.
But Jian Yu has realized that this is just the beginning.
She could already imagine that in the coming time, she would have to constantly deal with chaotic scenes caused by the idea of pure-blood superiority!
Just thinking about it, she felt as if the self that had just been pieced together was falling apart again.
Perhaps her prefect authority and her own strength can keep them in line -
But the spell can only block people's mouths, not the thoughts in their brains.
That is just suppressing the contradiction by force, brewing deeper hidden dangers and waiting for a counterattack.
Or should she give a world-shaking anti-discrimination speech?
Without the ideological foundation of the masses, she would be like a clown if she did that.
She couldn't help but secretly curse Dumbledore for being such a master at pitting her children and always creating such a mess for her.
What happened to the benefits of simply managing people and conducting patrols, and having the legal right to travel at night and the right to deduct points?
She was cheated again!
No wonder Snape has a gloomy face every day. Having to deal with a full schedule and the "little monsters" in class, as well as dealing with students fighting and swearing, who can bear this!
Is it too late for her to resign now?
