Chapter 25

Chapter 25

The lilies he gave her began to wither, but she remembered that the flowers never withered before. She tried to deceive herself that he had not disappeared, but reality kept reminding her that this person really existed and really disappeared.

The test results came out, but Ayala was in no mood to read them. She stayed in front of the Mirror of Erised almost the entire time, repeatedly looking at the person in the mirror. Until the day before leaving school, Dumbledore appeared there. She looked at the person who suddenly appeared in the mirror and said in surprise:

"Principal? Why are you here?"

"Miss Turner, I see you again in front of the Mirror of Erised. It seems you've been here for the past few days."

She didn't want to go back to the dormitory, as it was full of traces of Albus's presence, nor did she want to go anywhere else. Albus took her to every corner of Hogwarts. Every time she walked to a place, she would remember what Albus said there. This was the only place she had not been to with Albus, and here she could see him.

Ayala ignored Dumbledore's words and just stared blankly at the mirror.

"Miss, do you want to know why he disappeared?"

Hearing this, Ayala quickly stood up and asked:

"You know what's right?"

"This isn't a good place to have this conversation. How about we go to the principal's office?"

She nodded without even hearing where she was going. When she sat down in the principal's office, Dumbledore did not explain anything to her, but just handed her a letter. Ayala quickly opened it. The handwriting was Albus's. Although Albus and Dumbledore's handwriting were very similar, there were some differences.

Ayala, I'm sorry, I can't stay with you. Dumbledore has already explained to me why I came here. It's because of you, but I can feel that my existence is slowly weakening. I am a remnant of his soul that split out in his early years. Now I have returned to his body, and the place where I existed for only three months will completely disappear.

When he told me this, I didn't want to agree, because I didn't want to leave you. Even if I was going to disappear soon, so what? Even one more minute of our time would be happiness. But I felt that I was from your past, and my existence would only affect your present state. I might even drag you into the past someday. I didn't want my own selfish desires to ruin everything your parents had done for you to survive.

Forget me, use the method of oblivion or other methods to forget me, and forgive me for leaving without saying goodbye, because when facing you I can't even say goodbye, I'm afraid that seeing your tears will make me not want to leave.

Ayala didn't know how she finished reading the letter. When she finished, many of the words on the letter were blurred by tears, and she hurriedly wiped them with her sleeve.

She looked up at Dumbledore.

"So what is my background like, and what is Albus's?"

"Ms. Turner, I'm not particularly clear about your background, but I think your aunt should know. As for him, he was a piece of my soul that was accidentally split apart in an accident when I was a teenager. Now he and his memories have returned to my body."

"Mr. Dumbledore, is there any way for me to see him other than the Mirror of Erised? Just once will do."

"Ms. Turner, I'm sorry about this, but there's really nothing I can do."

If even Dumbledore couldn't do it, no one else in the world could possibly do it.

"Can you teach me a spell? I want the flowers to never wither."

"sure."

This conversation made her feel a little better, and she finally had the mood to open her transcript. Except for the O in the spell, all other grades were just passing. Thinking of her previous all-O grades, she guessed that she would be the focus of all professors next semester.

Lily had noticed her abnormality and stopped her when getting in the car.

"Ayala, can I ride in the same car with you? Just the two of us."

She didn't say anything, just nodded. After sitting down, Lily rarely did not read the book, but sat opposite her. After a while, Lily finally spoke.

"You look unwell lately, has something happened?"

Looking at Lily's cautious expression, Ayala shook his head subconsciously. Lily said:

"You can treat me as someone you don't know, or you can choose not to tell me who this person is, or even cast Obliviate on me."

She blinked as she spoke, and Ayala laughed at this. Lily held her hand and said:

"Just talk about it. It's better to say it out loud than to hold it in."

Ayala watched her relax a lot and slowly spoke.

"Do you believe that a person can come into reality from a dream?"

"I believe that as long as magic exists, everything is possible."

"What if I told you I was in love with this guy?"

Lily said nothing, motioning for her to continue.

"This year was almost my happiest year, but also my saddest year. I spent a lot of wonderful times with him. Almost every corner of Hogwarts is filled with memories of him and me. Only I can see him, and only I can see him."

"A feeling that belongs only to you is truly wonderful, isn't it?"

As Ayala spoke, her eyes unconsciously looked out the window. She remembered that when Albus first started school, he and she took the same bus to Hogwarts. They were sitting in the same carriage and in the same seat.

"Later, due to something that had to happen, he chose to leave me. Now, every corner of Hogwarts is a painful memory for me."

Lily looked at the suitcase she had been holding since getting on the bus. Ayala opened the suitcase, revealing flowers like roses and lilies. She spoke to herself:

"He gave these to me. After he left, the flowers started to wither. I cast a spell on them, and now they won't wither."

Her fingers stroked the petals of the flower.

“They’re beautiful.”

"The flowers he sends are always beautiful."

"Perhaps you could think of something happy?"

"I can't think of anything to be happy about."

It started raining outside the window, it's another bad day today.

"You can think about what you thought about when you cast the Patronus Charm. The professor said that only happy memories can be used to summon the Patronus Charm. Your Patronus is really beautiful. I have never been able to succeed in it until now."

Ayala's eyes began to become empty when she heard this, and she spoke after a long while.

"All my happy memories were related to him, but after he left, these memories were no longer happy, but made me sad."

Her eyes began to blur.

"Lily, after he left, I couldn't cast the Patronus Charm anymore."
