Chapter 13

Chapter 13

Leng Huai snorted coldly: "People of the Demon Realm always keep their word, unlike you demons who are secretive and always hide your tricks."

Mo Xiaoxin could tell that Leng Huai was implying that she hadn't explained all the rules of the game.

How did this escalate to the demon realm?

This is entirely her own behavior, okay?

Although Mo Xiaoxin did not belong to this world, the original owner's parents looked exactly like her biological parents, so she already regarded them as her biological parents in this world.

His brows furrowed. His handsome face was now comically gloomy, his fingers gripping the cup so tightly that his knuckles turned white, almost denting the cup.

His mind raced, filled with regret for agreeing to her unreasonable rules. He shouldn't have played this ridiculous game of Ludo or Truth or Dare with her; now he was utterly humiliated. If anyone knew that the Demon Lord could bark like a dog, wouldn't he become a laughingstock, losing all face?

But when he met her cunning gaze, her question "Dare you?" pierced his heart like a thorn, and he inexplicably agreed.

“Oh right, wasn’t our bet a hundred silver coins? I can give it to you now,” Leng Huai suddenly remembered.

Mo Xiaoxin's eyebrows shot up: "These are two different things. I'm talking about winning or losing in Ludo, not Truth or Dare. Don't try to confuse us."

She knew this guy was going to cheat, and she was determined to make him angry today.

The cash rewards from the spinning wheel were increasing, and every time she died, she would happily watch the numbers on her balance increase. Money was her source of security and her motivation.

Mo Xiaoxin initially thought Leng Huai was just saying it casually. After all, given Leng Huai's status and his usual imposing demeanor, how could he possibly agree to do something so shameful?

Unexpectedly, after much hesitation, Leng Huai actually started barking like a dog.

“Woof…woof…woof…” Leng Huai’s voice produced a sound he had never made in his life before. With each utterance, the anger in his heart burned a little more intensely.

Mo Xiaoxin was extremely surprised and covered her mouth to chuckle.

Leng Huai glared at her without any politeness.

That wretched woman! If it weren't for the fact that this truth or dare game could give him information about her, he would never have played it.

However, since he has already agreed to play the game, he will abide by the rules and accept the consequences of his bet.

"Seven more sounds."

"Woof...woof...woof...woof...woof...woof...woof..."

Mo Xiaoxin gained a new understanding of Leng Huai.

I never expected that the Demon Lord, who seems so stern and unsmiling, would actually abide by the rules.

She thought Leng Huai would be enraged and kill her.

Although she didn't achieve her goal, she felt inexplicably happy to have punished the man.

But before Mo Xiaoxin could even feel happy for long, the gears of fate turned to her.

Mo Xiaoxin closed her eyes and chose: "Truth or dare."

Leng Huai: "The road to the Demon Realm is long and arduous, fraught with traps. Your demonic power is not strong, and your tolerance for demonic power is not high. How did you manage to break in? Could it be that you were hiding your strength and intending to harm the Demon Realm?"

Surprisingly, Leng Huai didn't ask the same question as before.

In Mo Xiaoxin's memory, the memory of how the original owner broke into the Demon Realm seemed to have been ripped out, leaving her completely empty.

The original owner's memories were like a complete jigsaw puzzle in her mind, each piece clearly discernible, and she could easily recall all the past events. But this particular memory seemed to have been deliberately erased, leaving no trace, which truly puzzled her.

He stared intently at Mo Xiaoxin, and seeing that her lips were tightly closed and she remained silent for a long time, showing no intention of answering, Leng Huai's doubts deepened.

It seems that this woman is far more complex than imagined. We must not be complacent or underestimating her in the slightest and must remain vigilant at all times.

Perhaps, making him play Ludo tonight was an attempt to trick him into revealing information, but unfortunately, he always chose dare, otherwise this wicked woman would have succeeded.

Leng Huai's lips slowly curled into a mocking smile, tinged with contempt.

"I don't remember," Mo Xiaoxin said calmly and truthfully.

"Do you think I'd believe that?" Leng Huai's voice suddenly turned low, each word chilling to the bone, sending shivers down one's spine.

"Mo Qiuxin, what is your purpose in coming to the Demon Realm!" Leng Huai stared intently into Mo Xiaoxin's eyes, as if trying to see through her soul.

He tried to catch even the slightest hint of something unusual in Mo Xiaoxin's eyes, but all he saw was blankness.

Mo Xiaoxin rolled her eyes, speechless. "I don't know why either, this memory seems to have just disappeared. My demonic power is indeed very low. If you don't believe me, you can try it."

Mo Xiaoxin generously extended his hand, allowing Leng Huai to test him.

If she was hiding her demonic power, how could he have killed her time and time again?

Of course, Leng Huai couldn't possibly have this memory.

Leng Huai stared suspiciously at Mo Xiaoxin, who looked completely at ease. He then reached out and placed his palm on Mo Xiaoxin's forehead.

As Leng Huai's hand approached, she felt a surge of spiritual energy probing within her body.

A moment later, Leng Huai withdrew his hand.

Leng Huai's brows furrowed suddenly, his gaze as cold as ice as he looked down at the woman before him. The demonic energy emanating from his palm rapidly diminished upon touching her.

The woman before him possessed terrifyingly low demonic power, and her spiritual energy fluctuations were so weak that they were almost imperceptible, even a hundred times stronger than those of the lowest-ranking guard in the Demon Palace.

He felt somewhat stifled, unsure whether he was internally injured by the absurdity or mocking himself for wasting a moment of his energy on such an insignificant being.

Could it be that this woman has accomplices in this demon palace?

Recalling the dishes on the table that had been secretly drugged, and the drinks that concealed danger, Leng Huai's eyes were instantly covered with a layer of frost, and a chill spread from the depths of his eyes: "Tell me, who are your accomplices?"

Sensing that Leng Huai's mood was off, Mo Xiaoxin instinctively shrank back.

Looking into Leng Huai's suspicious eyes, it was as if she had done something heinous.

Is this man really that vigilant? She didn't do anything wrong during her time in the Demon Realm.

Leng Huai's contemptuous attitude towards her made her very unhappy.

She had been holding back her anger, and now she could finally vent it all: "What purpose could I possibly have? I just like you and want to get closer to you. Is this how you treat a woman who admires you? Well, you're cold and indifferent to Ye Songlan, who saved your life, so of course you don't care about me either. Fine, think what you want, kill me or torture me, it's all up to you."

The original owner's feelings for Leng Huai were indeed genuine. She was a woman who would give everything for love, loving him humbly and cautiously. In the Southern Demon Realm, she shone brightly, a noble princess, the center of attention. However, Leng Huai never acknowledged her feelings for him, always doubting her motives for coming to the Demon Realm to get close to him.

To be honest, the original owner really misplaced her true feelings.

Leng Huai was slightly taken aback, recalling Mo Xiaoxin's behavior in the Demon Realm. She was just a tagalong who followed him around every day. When he went out, she would ask the servants everywhere to find out his whereabouts. When she actually saw him, she would run away shyly. She was overjoyed even when he said a word to her, just like a young girl who had just fallen in love and was shy when she saw her lover.

Thinking about it this way, I realize I was being a bit too suspicious.

but……

"How did you know that Ye Songlan saved me?" Leng Huai's eyes were cold, and his gaze was probing.

Mo Xiaoxin kept staring at Leng Huai's expression. Just now, he seemed to have been persuaded by her, but how come he turned cold and changed the subject the next second? This man's thoughts are really hard to guess.

"What's the big deal? Doesn't the whole Demon Realm know about this?" Mo Xiaoxin felt a little guilty, but she didn't want to reveal that the two servants were gossiping in secret. She couldn't bring herself to tattle or complain. Besides, if she told him, those two servants would probably be in grave danger.

"How could you possibly know this while you've been staying in the Demon Palace? There must be servants gossiping behind your back. I'll find them out!" It's as if people in the Demon Palace dare to talk about him behind his back and spread rumors. It seems he hasn't killed enough people lately.

Mo Xiaoxin was speechless again: "Why are you so petty? Everyone knows about this. People can say whatever they want. Are you going to cut their tongues out?"

"Cut out their tongues?" Leng Huai smiled wickedly. "Yes, that's a good punishment. They'll have to thank you for the idea later."

Mo Xiaoxin was shocked. What kind of karma had she created?

"Huh? I didn't, don't talk nonsense!"

If that's the case, everyone in the Demon Palace will probably hate her. Even without Leng Huai killing her, she could be killed at any moment while walking in the Demon Palace.

The more she thought about it, the more frightened she became, and she didn't notice the sly smile that appeared on Leng Huai's lips.

The tense atmosphere suddenly disappeared, and the scene of Leng Huai killing her that she had imagined did not occur.

Mo Xiaoxin secretly glanced at Leng Huai. The handsome man opposite her was intently looking at the chessboard, as if it was someone else who had just said he wanted to cut out the tongue.

The two played Ludo until late at night, and Mo Xiaoxin didn't even know when she fell asleep.

When she woke up, she was lying in bed, her fingertips touching the smooth, warm brocade. The moment she turned over, a blinding crimson color suddenly shot into her pupils. She froze for a moment, then let out a short gasp, and she almost sat up abruptly.

She glanced frantically at the bed beside her; thankfully, she was alone there.

She touched the spot beside her; it was cold, and there was no sign that anyone had slept there.

I breathed a sigh of relief.

Then she turned her gaze to search for Leng Huai's figure in the room.

All that remained in the room was the Ludo board.

The dishes on the table had been taken away by someone at some point.

The blue pieces on the chessboard are already in a winning position, while the four poor red pieces are still standing in different squares.

She remembered that last night she tried every means to get Leng Huai to kill her, but she was killed once. After that, Leng Huai's temperament changed drastically. No matter how she provoked him, he was unmoved. His eyes never left the chessboard. While she was still racking her brains to figure out how to make him angry, he won.

Oh no! She thought she could get away with squeezing some money out of Leng Huai and move around freely in the Demon Realm, but now, not only has she not made any money, she also owes him a hundred taels of silver.

That's a hundred taels of silver! Where did she get so much money? Her dowry was also confiscated. She's had such a miserable life.

Leng Huai wasn't in the room, and no one knew where he had gone.

"Someone come here." Her voice was a little hoarse, and her throat was dry.

It seems the live broadcast last night was indeed quite spectacular.

Hearing the noise in the room, A-Yun walked in from outside the door.

She handed the washbasin to Mo Xiaoxin with a blank expression.

After washing up, Mo Xiaoxin indicated that she wanted to drink water.

Ah Yun brought in a pot of water from outside the door.

Mo Xiaoxin gulped down a large glass of water before she felt her dry, hoarse throat improve.

Mo Xiaoxin: "What time is it now?"

Ayun: "It's already noon, Demon Queen, would you like to have your meal?"

The thought of the bland and tasteless food made Mo Xiaoxin lose her appetite.

Mo Xiaoxin waved his hand, and Ayun tactfully left the room.

Just as Ayun turned to leave, Mo Xiaoxin noticed that her figure seemed different from that of ordinary maids. She was slender and walked with great agility, and seemed to be more similar to Mu Xiaoxiao, who was also a maid.

Thinking of the food that had been poisoned last night, Mo Xiaoxin seemed lost in thought.
