Chapter 41 Careful

Chapter 41 Careful

After the person behind her got into bed, there was a rustling sound. When Gu Wan finally lay down quietly, Liu Yiner opened her eyes with disappointment. In the dark night, she could vaguely see the faint moonlight shining in from the window outside the bed curtain.

She opened her eyes and didn't know what she was thinking. After a long time, the person behind her suddenly lifted her quilt. Liu Yiner turned around abruptly and grabbed the quilt tightly. Then she saw Gu Wan's half-raised body awkwardly stopped in mid-air.

Liu Yiner pursed her lips, lifted the quilt a little, and quickly put it back. She slowly turned her back, wrapped herself in the quilt, and put some distance between herself and Gu Wan. "I'm tired, let's go to bed early."

Gu Wan was really frightened by Liu Yiner's reaction. Was she rejected or disliked? But she just wanted to sleep in the same bed and hug each other. Besides, she didn't do anything. It was really karma.

Gu Wan lay down with a depressed heart, feeling like she had suffered a thousand points of hurt. Could it be that her young lady was tired of her? With infinite regret and deep worry, she finally felt sleepy until the early morning.

Liu Yin'er was also immersed in her own subconscious reaction. What she had always longed for in the past, the thought of becoming a real couple with Gu Wan, turned out to be more of fear than expectation at that moment. Perhaps it was because she had suffered too much uncertainty and insecurity in recent days. The long-term anxiety made her a little afraid. If she encountered such twists and turns again in the future, the relationship between them would probably be even more difficult to deal with. Liu Yin'er reflected on herself with self-pity, and she had to admit that she was really timid just now.

The result of both of them suffering from insomnia was that they didn't wake up until noon the next day. Liu Yiner opened her eyes tiredly, took Gu Wan's hand away from herself, and then carefully left her arms. The quilt that was gloriously sacrificed on the ground made her face blush inexplicably. Fortunately, she woke up first.

Just as I opened the door and washed up, Sister Li from the next yard heard the sound and came to knock on the door. "Sister Yin'er, you've got to get up. Brother Gu is not at home, so you have to take care of yourself. Open the door quickly. Sister Li steamed some buns and left a few for you to make breakfast."

Liu Yiner opened the door shyly. Just as she took the bun, she heard Gu Wan's sleepy voice behind her, "What's wrong, Yiner? Who's here?"

Sister Li looked at Gu Wan, who seemed to have just woken up, and raised her eyebrows subtly. She couldn't help but teasingly said, "I was wondering, Sister Yin'er is always hardworking. Why did you get up so late today? It turns out that Brother Gu is back. You two have been married for almost a year now. It's time to work hard."

Liu Yin'er's face flushed. She knew how red her cheeks were without even looking. She turned around and glared at Gu Wan in embarrassment, then turned back to avoid Sister Li's scrutiny. "Thank you, Sister-in-law. My husband came home late last night, so we slept late."

Sister Li smiled knowingly, "Sister Yin'er is embarrassed. Sister-in-law won't disturb you two anymore, haha..."

Liu Yiner watched Sister Li leave with a smile, and couldn't help but glare at Gu Wan again before going to the kitchen.

Gu Wan looked at his wife's embarrassed and angry eyes in confusion. She just slept a little longer, but why did she feel like she missed something?

Breakfast, no, it should be lunch. After Liu Yiner heated up the buns, she cut a plate of side dishes. Looking at Gu Wan who couldn't stop smiling while eating, she looked back at her past with regret. She thought about how bad her eyesight must have been to fall for such a stupid man.

After dinner, Liu Yiner looked at Gu Wan, who was still looking silly, and couldn't help but ask, "You've been away for so long, don't you go see Daddy and Yang'er?"

Gu Wan came back to his senses and quickly agreed, "Yeah, yes, I should go visit him, shall we go together?"

In the Liu family kitchen, Father Liu looked at Gu Wan who was teaching Liu Yang to read in the yard, and looked at his daughter in confusion, "Girl, why is your son-in-law a little different?"

Liu Yiner raised her eyebrows, without stopping her work, and said casually, "It's different now. I've become stupid and foolish."

Old Man Liu looked at Liu Yin'er who was still busy with her work speechlessly. "What nonsense are you talking about? This is a good thing. It would be bad if this guy was smart in front of you. Silly girl, you should know that only when someone cares about you will you think he has become stupid. Because, only when he truly wants to spend his whole life with you and trusts you will he expose his shortcomings and weaknesses to you. You young people are still far away from that."

After saying this, Old Man Liu walked to the yard to see the two people. The more he looked at his son-in-law, the more he liked him. He discovered that why his son-in-law kept looking into the kitchen. Yes, his son-in-law was staring at his daughter more diligently than usual. It had been a year since they got married, and the couple was still so affectionate with each other, which really made Old Man Liu smile. The grandson was finally coming.

In the kitchen, Liu Yiner was still immersed in her father's words. So that's how it was. She looked at the person in the yard, and their eyes met. The person quickly turned his head away as if afraid of being discovered by her. Is it really as her father said, because he has her in his heart? But why does she feel that Gu Wan is also stupid and foolish in front of others?

At night, on the way home, Gu Wan stretched out his hand and then retracted it, then stretched it out and retracted it again. After repeating this many times, Liu Yiner was finally annoyed. What a guy, why does he always touch her hand? Is he playing a game with children?

"What's wrong? Where did your courage last night go? What are you going to do now?" Liu Yiner raised her eyebrows and looked at the person who was avoiding her sight.

Gu Wan didn't say anything, just continued walking quietly. After a while, she suddenly stopped. Liu Yiner couldn't help but said, "What do you want to do? It's so late, why don't you walk faster?"

Gu Wan still didn't say anything. She took a step forward silently, took Liu Yin'er's hand tightly, and then walked quickly towards home without looking back. But in her heart, there was a little person nagging non-stop, "Gu Wan, don't be afraid, Gu Wan, you have to hold on, there will be soup, and you will be able to eat meat sooner or later."

Let her little wife show off for a while, Gu Wan kept cheering himself up in his heart, hinting to himself seriously and strongly, but in fact he was afraid of being rejected by the person behind him. Fortunately, the interlocked hands were not shaken off.

Liu Yiner looked at the person who was just walking with amusement, and simply let her go. However, they were just holding hands, so there was no need to use so much force.

"Awan, my hand is hurt." Liu Yiner felt her fingers being pinched tighter and tighter and couldn't help but let out a cry.

"Ah? I'm sorry, Yin'er, I'm too nervous. I'll be gentler." Gu Wan quickly loosened her hands a little, but still held them tightly throughout the whole process. She would never let go of these hands in her life.

Liu Yiner lowered her head, and her hardened heart suddenly failed. The man in front of her was no longer as cold and carefree as before, but these stupid words made her eyes tear up. Maybe her father was right, this person really cared about her.

Liu Yiner followed Gu Wan with melancholy all the way. She didn't know what to do. She wanted to be together, that was beyond doubt, but the layers of concerns that followed made her dare not be rash and follow her heart anymore. The world was too complicated and people's hearts were so indifferent. She could risk the world's condemnation for this love, but she didn't want to worry about it anymore.

Gu Wan felt nervous and sweet along the way. Her young lady was holding her hand peacefully, and the cold moonlight seemed to warm up. She really wanted the two of them to walk hand in hand slowly and keep walking.
