Chapter 171: Liang Meng is suspected

"No. The room was too dark, and he acted so quickly that I didn't have time to light the lamp."

"Then what characteristics can you see about him?"

"That person is very short, only...to me." Liang Meng said as he put his hand on his shoulder.

"Very thin. He was very agile. Oh, by the way, I injured him when he jumped out of the window to escape. I don't know if it was his leg or his waist that was injured."

Ziruo nodded, with a hint of anger between her furrowed brows. She paced back and forth in the room with her head lowered and her arms folded across her chest.

Liang Meng glanced at Yue'er, who still had that gloomy expression. When he looked up, his eyes were unconsciously drawn to the window frame that the man had broken.

I walked over and looked down, and sure enough, I found a few drops of blood on the broken window frame.

Unlike normal people's blood, that person's blood is black.

Liang Meng called Ziruo over and pointed to the black bloodstains on the window frame.

"That person's?"

"Yes, he is injured."

"Why is it black?"

Zi Ruo stretched out her fingers to touch him, but Liang Meng stopped her by holding her hand.

"Either he was poisoned before he came, or..."

Liang Meng's voice was cold.

"...It means being controlled by others."

"Control?"

Liang Meng nodded. He bent down and sniffed the black blood, finding a fishy smell tinged with a hint of stench. He stood up and looked at Ziruo, his serious face filled with certainty.

"It's poisoning."

Looking at Liang Meng's determined expression, Zi Ruo's brows were filled with anger and doubt.

"Why did he attack Yue'er? Could he get the antidote from her? Or did he want to use Yue'er's identity to stir up trouble between Tomb City and Cliff City?"

Zi Ruo said this for a reason. The previous times that incidents occurred in Tomb City, all the evidence pointed to Cliff City.

Now again...

Liang Meng couldn't give her an answer to this question, so she sighed and shook her head.

Zi Ruo lowered her head and looked carefully at the black blood again, but could not make out any clues. She turned around and looked at Yue'er lying on the bed with an extremely cold expression.

"How is Yue'er?"

"It's extremely dangerous! You could die at any moment."

"There are only a few elders in the Tomb City who possess profound spiritual powers, but they went out with my mother a few days ago and won't be back until two days later. I've only learned swordsmanship since I was a child, and I know very little about spiritual powers."

Ziruo glanced at Yue'er, looking anxious and helpless.

"Yue'er is the sister of the Lord of Ya City. Something happened in my Tomb City today. This is a serious matter. I need to report it to Lord Zhuo immediately."

"Take good care of Yue'er. I'll have guards guard the door."

Liang Meng nodded, and Ziruo raised her hand and patted her shoulder.

After Ziruo left, Liang Meng used his spiritual power on Yue'er again, but unfortunately, he made himself sweat profusely again and Yue'er still didn't show any improvement.

Zhuolin came quickly and went straight to Yue'er's bedroom. He saw that his sister, who was still lively in front of him a few days ago, was lying there with only a trace of breath left, as if she would die at any time.

No matter how calm and composed Ren Zhuolin was, he couldn't help but sway when he saw Yue'er like this.

Ignore Liang Meng's words, "I have already manipulated Yue'er's spiritual power, it's useless."

Zhuolin's face was so gloomy that it seemed as if water was dripping from it. His tall body suddenly tensed up and he slammed his arms downward with force. In an instant, the powerful spiritual power made Ziruo and Liang Meng beside him take two steps back.

In Liang Meng's wide-open eyes, a white light slid from Zhuolin's elbow to his fingertips. As Zhuolin chanted the spell, the white light shot straight to Yue'er's gray eyebrows.

Unexpectedly, a gray mist barrier rose between Yue'er's brows, entangled with the white light.

The two fighting forces were equally matched and entangled with each other in the fight.

"Stop it, City Lord Zhuo, Yue'er is not well."

Zhuolin, with beads of sweat on his broad forehead, heard Ziruo's panicked words and quickly cast a spell to retract his arm.

The white light suddenly disappeared, and the gray mist also dissipated between Yue'er's eyebrows.

Everyone looked at Yue'er lying on the bed at the same time.

Perhaps it was because of the fight between Zhuolin and the gray fog just now, but two terrifying blue veins bulged out on Yue'er's dark purple forehead.

The most incredible thing was that when Zhuolin was controlling his spiritual power just now, there seemed to be something wriggling back and forth in his blue veins.

The fight just now caused two streams of black blood to flow out of Yue'er's mouth corners.

"City Master Zhuo, what happened to Yue'er? Poisoned?"

Zhuolin shook his head and said no with certainty.

"What is that?"

"Yue'er's soul was infused with the Dark Spirit."

"Dark Spirit Soul!!"

"Dark Soul?"

Ziruo and Liang Meng said in unison, but one looked shocked and the other was surprised.

"What is the Dark Soul?"

Liang Meng's voice was very soft. She felt guilty towards Yue'er's elder brother. After all, Yue'er had the accident with her.

Zhuo Lin glanced at Liang Meng from the corner of his eye, a hint of disdain still evident between his brows. His gaze was filled with suspicion.

He ignored Liang Meng's question and bowed to Ziruo.

"Young City Lord, can you please excuse me for a moment?"

Ziruo glanced at Liang Meng very quickly, nodded, and raised her hand to make a gesture of invitation to Zhuolin.

"City Lord Zhuo, please come this way."

After saying that, he walked out of the bedroom first. Zhuolin followed Ziruo out of the bedroom as well.

The only people left in the room were Liang Meng, who looked confused, and Yue'er, whose face was dark and purple.

The front hall of the tomb.

"City Lord Zhuo has something to say to me."

Zi Ruo sat in the main seat and asked Zhuo Lin, who was sitting beside her with a serious expression.
