I turned around abruptly, and there was a girl standing behind me. She was about the same age and height as Kaka, and judging from her clothes, she was the same person who had been under the tree just now. I looked at Ji Lin'an, who looked at me calmly. Seeing that Ji Lin'an didn't say anything, I looked at him with pleading eyes. Ji Lin'an gently patted my shoulder and turned to look at the girl in front of him.
"We don't plan to form teams for the time being. If you're afraid to be alone, you can come with us until you meet other lucky people who can team up with you."
The girl had delicate features and was wearing a soaked tracksuit, but her eyes were resolute: "No need, I'm not afraid. I can walk by myself. If you're not going to team up, then I won't bother you."
After saying that, the girl turned and left. Ji Lin'an and I exchanged a glance, and I asked, "Little girl, what are your skills?"
The girl stopped, but instead of turning around, she turned her head: "If we weren't going to team up, I wouldn't need to tell you, would I?"
I was speechless. What she said made sense. If she told others about her skills without forming a team, it would only affect her safety. I gave an awkward smile: "If you don't tell us, how will we know if you're suitable for our team?"
The little girl didn't say anything, but turned around and looked directly at us: "I can only tell you that you won't regret letting me join."
I looked up at Ji Lin'an, who nodded. I understood what he meant and took a few steps closer to the little girl. The girl didn't back down or show any fear. Instead, her eyes were cold and resolute. I said to the little girl, "Then let's team up. We have a few other teammates. You can come with us to find them."
The little girl nodded and walked towards me and Ji Lin'an. When she got to me, she clenched her right fist and raised it in front of me. I tried to understand her intention, so I raised my fist and bumped fists with her. She smiled at me and then placed her fist in front of Ji Lin'an. Ji Lin'an smiled slightly, took two steps forward, and imitated my action to bump fists with the little girl.
After exchanging fist bumps, the little girl stood up straight: "Hello, my name is Song Yi, and I am an invisible shield user."
My pupils dilated slightly, and I smiled, "Hello, my name is Su Yi, Yi as in 'Shuxintai' (a type of acupoint), and this is Ji Lin'an."
The girl smiled faintly: "I'm Yi too."
I exclaimed excitedly, "Your skill sounds amazing! Does it mean you can become invisible?"
Song Yi nodded: "Yes, it can temporarily form a shield. As long as you hide in the shield, you can blend into the surrounding environment."
I looked at Ji Lin'an, feeling like I'd made the right bet. Ji Lin'an said, "We have a few more companions. We need to find them quickly. Come with us."
Song Yi nodded. Just as Ji Lin'an was about to open the treasure chest, I knew he wanted to get Song Yi a raincoat. I stopped him and went into my space to bring out the pillows I had used in the past two days. They were already wet in the cave. I handed the pillows to Ji Lin'an: "Use these two pillows to exchange for a raincoat."
Ji Lin'an understood my intention and immediately took out a raincoat from the resource conversion space. I saw that Song Yi's lips were chapped and pale, and I realized that we had food. However, given Song Yi's skill, she must not have eaten anything after staying in the cave for three days. I took out a compressed biscuit, a bottle of mineral water, and a thicker piece of clothing from my space: "Take off your wet coat, put on the coat and raincoat, and have something simple to eat first. We still have a long way to go."
Song Yi's eyes lit up with anticipation when she saw the food, so I chuckled and asked, "Can you eat while you walk?"
Song Yi nodded, immediately tucked the raincoat between her legs, took off her coat, put on the coat I gave her, and then put on the raincoat. I handed her the compressed biscuits and water, and Song Yi opened the compressed biscuits: "Okay, let's go."
Ji Lin'an and I turned around and continued walking. Song Yi jogged a few steps to catch up with us, and while eating a cookie, she said, "Sister Su, is your skill to store food?"
My head was buzzing as soon as I heard the name "Sister Su." I immediately thought of the last person who called me that, who was the one who led us to become playthings. I turned my head and smiled politely: "Song Yi, you don't have to call me sister. Just call me Su Yi."
Song Yi was taken aback: "Oh, it seems a bit impolite not to call you 'sister,' otherwise... I'll call you 'Old Su'?"
"Old Su, Old Ji, that's fine too." I nodded to Song Yi, who didn't say anything more. Then I suddenly realized why Qianliyan and the others hadn't spoken for so long, and my heart jumped. I turned to Ji Lin'an and said, "Why haven't Qianliyan and the others said anything? Could something have happened?"
Ji Lin'an was also taken aback, immediately took out his phone, and looked at me helplessly: "I must have accidentally pressed the mute button." As soon as Ji Lin'an turned off the mute button, I could hear Qianliyan's low roar: "No way! I just said so much and you two didn't hear a single word? What a waste of my time! Old Ji, I hate you!"
I couldn't help but laugh and said, "Old Ji must think you talk too much, so he quietly turned off the microphone."
"I was just saying, why are you guys forming teams so early? There are 100 people, you need to choose carefully. What if this girl is the second Kaka?" Qianliyan complained.
Ji Lin'an and I didn't speak. I turned to look at Song Yi, who was quietly munching on a cookie beside us. I said into my earphone, "Don't you think the skill is amazing? It's much more useful than many people's skills, okay?"
Qianliyan remained silent, but Ji Lin'an said, "Alright, conserve your energy. How come you still have so much energy after not eating much for three days?"
The all-seeing eye muttered to himself, "I'll have to have a big meal when you guys come."
We ignored the clairvoyant and continued on our way. We encountered two lucky individuals along the way, but since their skills were not very useful, we refused to team up with them. After we refused, they disappeared from our sight at lightning speed, as if they were afraid that we would turn around and hurt them. Most of the lucky individuals who had the ability to protect themselves went deeper into the forest. Those hiding near the caves were either highly vigilant or weak.
