Chapter 1289 Seating Place

"My friend, Holy Pharaoh!"

"If it weren't for you, I probably wouldn't have the chance to stand here now."

Leonidas laughed loudly, his spittle almost landing on Lin Ke's face.

"Your appearance and help have changed the Greek world today."

"Now, the Spartan council is united with me, and I must say, it's all thanks to you!"

Upon hearing this, Lin Ke responded humbly, "Not at all. If you hadn't led your Spartan warriors in a valiant resistance, I'm afraid I wouldn't have had the chance to intervene."

"In the end, all of this was fought by you and your Spartan warriors with shields and spears."

"However, even without my intervention, you have bought enough time for Sparta and Greece."

Upon hearing Lin Ke's words, Leonidas burst into hearty laughter. Clearly, Lin Ke's praise of the Spartans pleased Leonidas greatly.

"Hahaha! The Holy Pharaoh is still so eloquent!"

"How are you doing? Are you settling in well on the Greek island of Delos?"

The two walked side by side down the corridor of the venue, and the attendees around them made way for Leonidas when they saw him.

Even the leaders of those civilizations of lower status looked quite surprised when they saw Lin Ke and Leonidas standing together.

There was even a hint of jealousy in it.

Besides, a few civilization leaders cast strange glances at Leonidas, as if to say: Why are you walking with the leader of that desert civilization?

However, Leonidas didn't care about other people's opinions. His bare upper body was covered only by a short red battle robe, and his exposed muscles had already given Leonidas an answer.

“Oh, my friend Pharaoh, I’ve heard you’ve been visiting quite a few leaders of civilizations lately?”

Leonidas asked casually, his gaze never leaving the road ahead.

Lin Ke merely narrowed her eyes slightly upon hearing this.

Clearly, news of Lin Ke's visit to other civilization leaders has already spread.

It is not hard to imagine that many leaders of civilizations were actually part of the Greek influence.

"Yes, I visited many leaders of civilizations near my residence."

"After all, this is my first time here in Holy Egypt, so naturally I want to learn more about the situation here."

Upon hearing this, Leonidas nodded: "Indeed, it's just like you."

Then he grinned, revealing a set of white teeth.

"However, I'm more concerned about how you train your soldiers."

"The last time I boarded a ship of Holy Egypt, I was really impressed to see the soldiers of Holy Egypt using those strange scimitars."

Upon hearing this, Lin Ke simply waved his hand and said, "Those are just ordinary weapons. They can never compare to the spears and shields of Sparta."

"After all, if I were to have three hundred Holy Egyptian warriors guard Thermopylae, I'm afraid we would lose that territory in less than a day."

Leonidas chuckled upon hearing this, and then chatted casually with Lin Ke.

They talked about everything from agricultural technology to military tactics, and from trade routes to local customs and traditions.

During their conversation, Lin Ke discovered that although Leonidas appeared rugged, he was actually quite sensitive.

This Spartan king was not only skilled in battle, but also had his own unique insights into literature, music, and even philosophy.

“Yes, the pyramids. I have heard about them.”

"If I have the chance, I must go and see it with my own eyes."

When the pyramids were mentioned, Leonidas's eyes showed a marked increase in interest.

"I will explain it to you personally at that time."

Lin Ke, on the other hand, extended a sincere invitation.

Just as the two were getting more and more into their conversation, a man dressed in white and holding an olive branch scepter hurried over.

He bowed slightly to Leonidas, then spoke in a low voice.

"Your Majesty, the General of Athens has been waiting in the hall for a long time."

He requests an immediate meeting with you. Are you currently in the area?

Upon hearing this, Leonidas immediately frowned: "Pericles? At this time?"

When Lin Ke heard the name "Pericles," he thought of his time at Thermopylae.

At that time, Pericles declined Link's invitation to meet.

But now, while Lin Ke and Leonidas are having a pleasant conversation, Pericles has reappeared.

Beside Lin Ke, Leonidas swept his sharp gaze over the messenger, then looked at Lin Ke with an apologetic look in his eyes.

"I'm so sorry, my friend Pharaoh."

"I'm afraid we'll have to talk again another time."

Lin Ke listened to Leonidas's words and simply nodded.

"It's alright, King Leonidas."

"As the host, you must be very busy, so I won't bother you any longer. Let's talk again next time."

Leonidas looked at Lin Ke, then gripped Lin Ke's wrist tightly.

“Alright, it’s a deal then, my friend Pharaoh.”

May the gods bless you, my friend.

Lin Ke then bowed slightly and said, "I also wish you all the best, King Leonidas."

Leonidas gave him a final nod, then turned and followed the messenger away.

His back was as straight as a mountain, and his steps remained steady and powerful.

Without close inspection, one would not be able to see any trace of Leonidas's past injury.

However, Lin Ke noticed that after they had walked a certain distance, Leonidas noticeably quickened his pace.

Just then, another Greek quickly approached Leonidas, and within seconds, Leonidas's face became serious.

Clearly, something unexpected had happened.

Lin Ke was well aware that such an urgent situation at this critical juncture could not be a good thing.

Lin Ke stared at the direction where Leonidas had disappeared, her brows furrowing slightly.

Nan Tong, who was behind Lin Ke, took two steps forward.

"Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh."

"It seems this world conference will be anything but peaceful."

However, Lin Ke did not show any expression upon hearing this.

"Yes, it seems this meeting is destined to be anything but peaceful."

"Let's go, it's about time, we should go in."

Lin Ke walked to the other side, through a passage, and a spacious and bright council hall came into view.

In the center of the circular venue was a huge circular conference table, surrounded by tiered seats arranged according to the level of civilization.

Lin Ke and Nan Tong then looked at the position of the representative of Holy Egypt.

Sure enough, their seats were the last of the middle seats.

It is located in the same place as the dwelling of Saint Egypt.
