"Chief Eric!"
"careful!"
The Viking warriors anxiously reminded Eric, who was engulfed in the treasure.
But he was now completely captivated by the gold and silver treasures, and he only slightly raised his head.
"Whoosh!" A huge axe grew larger and larger in his eyes.
"This is..." Before Eric could even react, the axe struck him squarely in the chest.
"Bang!" The huge impact caused Eric to fall to the ground, a horrifying wound running diagonally from his shoulder to his waist.
His face turned deathly pale. Looking at the burly man who emerged from the shadows, he said, "No, how could you do this? This is a sneak attack. Vikings, you shouldn't resort to such underhanded tricks."
"Thump." A tall, strong figure wielding two axes stepped out with heavy footsteps.
"It's Olaf!" The Viking warriors instinctively took a step back after recognizing who had emerged from the shadows.
Eric gritted his teeth and said to Olaf, "You despicable scoundrel! We Viking warriors have always been brave and fearless, daring to lead the charge."
"You actually used such despicable means to lure me into a trap! You are a disgrace to the Viking warriors!"
"You have failed the glory of the Vikings..."
Eric continued cursing on the ground, while Olaf merely scoffed and said disdainfully, "Eric, haven't you used such despicable methods enough?"
"While the King of the North is out there fighting hard, you are secretly at home contacting the lords of various cities and plotting a rebellion."
"Tell me, do you live up to the King of the North's trust in you? Are you worthy of being a Viking warrior?"
Eric's eyes widened in panic for a moment. He glanced instinctively at the Viking warriors who had come with him, then shouted, "You're talking nonsense! Don't frame me!"
"The reason I brought all the city lords here to punish you is because you, a coward, abandoned the King of the North and fled."
"Tell me, how can a coward like you shoulder the responsibility of avenging the King of the North?"
"A man like you is not fit to be the new king of Norway."
Olaf shook his head, saying with some pity, "Eric, do you know why the King of the North drove you out of the Vikings?"
The Viking warriors standing behind Eric tensed up, thinking to themselves, "As expected, Eric really was banished by the late king."
Eric, completely unaware that he had fallen into Olaf's trap, stared intently at Olaf and asked, "Why?"
The massive blood loss left him slightly dazed, and he seemed to recall the embarrassing scene when the King of the North ruthlessly drove him out of the Viking warriors and forced him to become the lord of Bergen.
He shuddered and added, "Why, why does that arrogant King of the North want to expel me?"
Olaf said slowly, "Because you're too stupid."
Upon hearing this, the atmosphere in the palace fell silent for a moment. Eric was stunned for a moment, then roared with a livid face, "Olav, who do you think you are? How dare you play tricks on me like this?"
"Compared to me, you're nothing but a brute who only knows how to use brute force. How dare you talk about these things?"
Olaf, however, remained unfazed: "If you weren't stupid, how could you repeatedly misjudge the situation, putting the Viking warriors in danger?"
"If you weren't stupid, how could you let so many Viking warriors lose their lives just for a little bit of treasure?"
"This time is just like many times before, except that in the past, it was other poor Viking warriors who took the blow for you."
Eric roared, his voice trembling, "That's not my fault. It's because those Viking warriors didn't train properly that they ended up like this."
"Not serious?" Olaf's eyes suddenly turned icy. "You mean to say that our brothers who have risked their lives with us are going to die just to satisfy your own selfish desires? And you'll turn around and blame them for not training seriously?"
"Hopeless, you are truly hopeless."
With that, Olaf slammed a battle axe into the ground with a bang, grabbed Eric by the collar with one hand, and pulled him up, saying:
"Viking warriors, take a good look! Are you sure you want to follow such a leader?"
"For just a little bit of selfish desire, you will all risk your lives!"
"Is this the kind of leader you want as your new king?"
Eric raised the corners of his mouth, a confident smile appearing on his face.
He firmly believed that through his "brainwashing" during this period, these Viking warriors would become steadfastly loyal to him.
However, things turned out very differently than he expected.
Only a few scattered Viking warriors in the front row were shouting, "Release Erik!" "Don't sow discord!" "Erik is the new king we have chosen!"
The soldiers in the back rows, however, were shouting completely opposite things:
"Everyone, see Eric's true colors."
"He's no better than Olaf."
"Yes, we can't rely on any of them. We have to rely on ourselves!"
Eric stared at the Viking warriors who had turned against him in the face of battle, his pupils trembling with rage: "You traitors, traitors of the Vikings!"
"How dare you betray me!"
Olaf smiled slightly as he looked at the Viking warriors who had "come to their senses." It seemed that the residents' persuasion had indeed worked.
He shouted, "Viking warriors are not just about courage and charging!"
"Wisdom is also part of the Viking warriors."
"In that situation, the only correct path was to protect oneself and wait until one had a clear understanding of Holy Egypt before seeking revenge."
"Do you really want to see the chance to escape that the King of the North risked his life for, just like that, given up by us?"
Seeing that many Viking warriors were wavering, Olaf shouted, "Come out, warriors!"
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
Many Viking warriors, just like Olaf before, emerged one after another from the shadows, while others hid on the chandeliers or on the second floor.
Eric's Viking warriors looked surprised, realizing that they had fallen into Olaf's trap from the very beginning.
"I'll show you that Viking warriors aren't just those who charge in blindly."
"A Viking warrior is one who can use his mind to set traps and knows when to retreat!"
"Take them down!"
At Olaf's command, the two waves of Viking warriors clashed like a flood.
