Chapter 154 Dead End

"A slave has escaped!"

"Damn it! Find them for me! They can't get far!"

"The fence gate here is opened!"

The slave quarters of Passaic were in chaos.

The light of the torches swayed wildly in the wind, stretching the shadows of the Hebrew soldiers longer and shorter.

Amon stood in the crowd, looking a little nervous.

"Quick! Everyone, split up and search! We must catch the escaped slave!"

"Quickly confirm how many slaves have escaped!"

A Hebrew officer shouted, his face now frighteningly hideous.

Amon lowered his head, blending in with the soldiers, pretending to search around as well.

He observed the situation around him, looking for an opportunity to escape.

However, as more and more Hebrew soldiers poured into the slave quarters, escape became increasingly difficult.

"Take a team to search the east!"

The officer suddenly patted Amon on the shoulder and then immediately turned away.

Amon's heart tightened, he nodded quickly and answered loudly: "Yes!"

He led a dozen soldiers and walked eastward, his steps hurried and his mind thinking quickly.

I must escape as soon as possible!

Moreover, if they were found wearing the armor of the Hebrew warriors, there would be no way to survive.

"You guys go over there!"

He commanded the soldiers, then he found a corner and took off all his armor.

Now, as long as I find the right opportunity, I can leave!

However, the reality is not satisfactory.

Just then, a burst of hurried footsteps were heard in the slave camp.

A soldier ran out breathlessly, with horror and fear on his face: "Oh no! All the people in the slave area have run away!"

The officer's face instantly turned pale: "What?!"

He grabbed the soldier by the collar and yelled, "What did you say? They all ran away?!"

The soldier turned pale with fear and stammered, "Yes, yes! Sir, we just discovered that all the slaves are missing!"

The officer's face was terribly gloomy. He pushed the soldiers aside and strode towards the entrance to the slave area.

Amon's heart sank suddenly. He knew that the truth had been revealed.

All he could do now was pray that Wadi would capture South City as soon as possible.

The officer was checking along the camp when he found the soldier in charge of the keys sleeping like a dead pig in a dark corner with his head against the wall.

There was also a strong smell of alcohol.

The officer's face turned ferocious in an instant, he raised his foot and kicked the soldier hard in the stomach.

"Wake up! You useless piece of shit!" the officer roared.

The soldier was suddenly awakened by the kick, holding his stomach and groaning in pain.

He looked up and saw the officer's angry face, and was immediately frightened out of his wits.

The soldier stammered: "My lord!"

"Where's the key?!" The officer grabbed his armor and lifted him up.

The soldier hurriedly touched his waist, his face turned pale in an instant: "The key is with me... Missing?"

The officer's eyes almost devoured him alive: "What?!"

He threw the soldier to the ground and roared, "You useless bastard! How come you don't even know the key is missing?!"

The soldier was so frightened that he was shaking all over, and his voice was filled with tears: "Sir! Sir, I, I don't know, maybe it was stolen!"

The officer's face was terribly gloomy. He asked coldly, "Why are you drinking?"

The soldier trembled: "Yes, Amon bought it for us! He said it was a thank you gift for helping him get rid of his anger. We, we..."

The officer's eyes swept around and found that in addition to the wine bottles, there were some leftover bones on the ground.

His eyes widened a little and he immediately understood what had happened.

At this moment, several soldiers who had just run over still had the smell of alcohol on their faces, and it was obvious that they had just woken up from drunkenness.

The officer's face instantly turned ferocious. He suddenly drew the scimitar from his waist and roared, "Everyone listen up! Enter combat mode immediately!"

"Kill any Egyptian you see running!"

"You, go and notify the magicians and alchemists immediately!"

The soldiers drew their weapons, murderous looks on their faces.

Amon stood in the darkness and swallowed hard.

I have been exposed!

If I run out now, I will be killed!

But it was too late to put on the soldier's armor. Moreover, he moved very slowly in the armor and had to obey the orders of his superiors.

Dead end!

At this moment, his body began to tremble, but he did not feel any fear at all.

He was prepared.

So he slowly walked out of the darkness.

The officer's voice suddenly rang out: "Amon! Come here!"

When Amon heard the voice, his body stiffened slightly. He walked forward slowly and forced a smile: "Sir, are you looking for me?"

The officer stared at him intently, as if he was going to tear him apart in the next second.

Amon still had a smile on his face: "Sir, I..."

The officer raised his scimitar abruptly. He didn't want to listen to the other party's explanation at all: "Stop quibbling, you lowly inferior!"

"I should have killed you that day!"

The officer's face turned ferocious in an instant, and he swung his scimitar violently, slashing at Amon's arm.

However, Amon suddenly became ruthless. While the other party was attacking, he pulled out his knife and stabbed the officer in the chest.
