"Don't think we don't know you're here!"
When the sixteen-year-old boy heard the other party's words, his legs immediately went weak and his mind went blank.
He wanted to run, but his feet seemed to be nailed to the ground.
The soldiers gathered around them, the light from the torches illuminating their hard faces.
He opened his mouth, wanting to call the seventeen-year-old boy's name, but no words came out.
"You thought you could sneak off to that filthy place?"
A soldier sneered and pressed the tip of his spear against his chest.
"How dare you betray the Hebrew Empire? You deserve to die!"
He wanted to explain, wanted to say that he just went to take a look, but his throat seemed to be blocked.
The light from the torches blinded him, and the soldiers' fists and spear handles rained down on him.
He curled up on the ground, the smell of blood mixed with dust rushed into his nostrils, and the only sounds in his ears were the dull thump of boots and his own panting.
The seventeen-year-old boy never showed up.
The young man who was beaten had already seen the dried blood on the soldiers' hands.
That wasn't his blood.
The soldiers beat the boy half to death, and then a magician slowly stepped forward.
He pressed hard on the boy's chest.
I saw a purple light flashing, and then the magician's eyes lit up.
"Ah! Success!"
"This kid is stronger than the one just now. He can hold on!"
Then, the leading soldier kicked him coldly, knocking the boy unconscious.
"Load him on a wagon and transport him to the border of Holy Egypt."
"Send a few more people to disguise themselves as travelers and send this kid to the 'market assembly' in Holy Egypt."
"Hurry! Time is running out. Even if you tire the horse to death, you must send him to Holy Egypt before the 'fair' is over!"
