"Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh, we have prepared a meal for you."
The servants knew that the Holy Pharaoh had not had breakfast, so they prepared a lot of food.
Lin Ke sat at a long table, with all kinds of exquisite food placed in front of him.
Golden and crispy roasted Cairo lamb, fragrant date bread, fresh Nile perch, and a pot of iced date wine.
Of course, when we say chilled, it means it is placed in water stored in the cellar.
His movements were graceful and deliberate, and he savored every sip.
"Good wine, good wine!"
"Pour another glass."
He held a jewel-inlaid silver knife with slender fingers, and his movements in cutting the meat were smooth and precise, and even the sound of the knife and fork colliding seemed particularly gentle.
However, just as he picked up the glass and was about to take another sip of date wine, hurried footsteps suddenly came from outside the hall.
A soldier hurried into the hall, knelt on one knee, and said nervously, "Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh! General Kamul and Lord Nantong have important military intelligence to report, and are waiting outside the hall."
Lin Ke's hand paused slightly, with the wine glass hanging in the air.
His brows furrowed slightly, and his gaze shifted from the wine glass to the soldier, a gleam in his eyes.
Kamul and Nantong came back together?
He immediately thought that Kamul must have asked Nan Tong to go with him just in case.
But I’m still so hungry now!
He did not stand up immediately, but quickly put the wine glass back on the table, then picked up a piece of date bread, took two bites casually, picked up a piece of mutton with a silver fork, and chewed it hurriedly a few times.
Although his movements still looked graceful, they were obviously much faster.
After all, on weekdays, Lin Ke always paid attention to his manners when eating and savored every bite of food carefully.
Even during the meal, the Holy Pharaoh displayed his majesty and composure.
But at this moment, his mind was obviously no longer on food.
He put down the silver fork, wiped the corners of his mouth gently with a silk scarf, then stood up and straightened the folds of his robe.
"Let them go to the palace hall. I'll be there now." Lin Ke's voice was powerful, and then he immediately stood up and walked towards the corridor leading to the hall.
The soldiers immediately stood up and left. A moment later, Kamul and Nan Tong walked quickly into the hall.
Both of them had solemn expressions on their faces, and it was obvious that the military situation was of great importance.
Lin Ke glanced at the two of them and said calmly, "Tell me, what happened?"
Lin Ke sat on the throne, tapping the armrests lightly with his fingers.
Kamul knelt on one knee, his voice steady but with a hint of urgency: "Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh, according to your order, I will take Master Heka to the border to investigate the movements of those neutral units."
"But on the way, we met Lord Nantong. After I explained the situation, Lord Nantong thought it was a serious matter and decided to go with us."
Lin Ke nodded slightly and turned his gaze to Nan Tong who was standing beside him.
Nan Tong was wearing a white robe and holding a jeweled staff in his hand.
He took a step forward and bowed slightly, "Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh, we found a troop at the border, composed entirely of female warriors."
"Their attire and weapons are very similar to those of the Amazon tribe in the rumors. I didn't dare to act rashly, so I cast a spell to create an oasis in the desert and lure them in."
He paused and continued, “Sure enough, a female warrior with an extraordinary temperament took the lead in entering the oasis to explore.
......
The Amazon warriors held their weapons tightly, their eyes sharp as knives, staring straight ahead.
Their leader, Marasia, was bound by Nantong's spell and stood at the front of the team, with her hands entangled in a light blue light chain, unable to move.
Yet, her gaze remained sharp, like a trapped beast, ready to break free at any moment.
Nan Tong stood beside Marasia, the staff in his hand glowing slightly, his face indifferent, just looking at these female warriors.
His voice was gentle but clear, passing through the wind and sand and reaching the ears of every Amazon warrior.
"Everyone, please calm down. We mean no harm."
"Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh just wants to know your identity and purpose. If you are willing, we can take you back to Cairo, where there is food, water and shelter."
"Cairo?" An Amazon warrior sneered, pointing his spear towards Nantong. "Why should we trust you? You have already captured our leader!"
Nan Tong raised his hand slightly, indicating that he had no hostility: "We are not enemies."
"Your clan leader is only being controlled temporarily to avoid unnecessary conflict."
"His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh has heard of your Amazon tribe. We are all enemies of the Hebrews. Moreover, His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh always respects his friends. He will never harm you."
"Respect?" another soldier said through gritted teeth, "The Hebrews burned our homes and destroyed our holy places!"
“Are you enemies of the Hebrews?”
"Holy Pharaoh, he's talking about Egypt?"
Nan Tong's eyes sank slightly, and there was a hint of sincerity in his tone.
"We are also deeply saddened by the atrocities committed by the Hebrews, but please believe that His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh shares a common enemy with you."
"If we cooperate, we may be able to gain a glimmer of hope for your people."
The Amazon warrior women remained unmoved, not relaxing their weapons in the slightest.
The atmosphere was as tense as a taut string that could break at any time.
At this moment, Marasia suddenly spoke, her voice calm and powerful: "Enough."
Everyone's eyes were instantly focused on her.
There was no trace of panic on her face. She glanced at her people and then turned to Nan Tong: "Let me go. I will negotiate with your Holy Pharaoh in person."
Nan Tong raised his eyebrows slightly, and gently waved the staff in his hand, and the light chain that bound Malacia dissipated instantly.
She flexed her wrist, her eyes still sharp: "But I have one condition - you must ensure the safety of my people. If they are harmed in any way, I will never cooperate with you."
......
"She was agile and had sharp eyes. She was obviously the leader of this group. I used magic to trap her when she let her guard down. I used this as a threat to bring them all back."
Lin Ke's eyebrows and eyes showed interest: "Amazon female warriors? Why are they appearing at our border?"
Nan Tong shook her head, with a hint of caution in her tone: "Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh, their intentions are still unclear."
"But from what I've observed, they seem to be fleeing. Their equipment is badly damaged and they have many scars on their bodies. They've obviously been through a fierce battle."
Lin Ke stopped tapping his fingers and his eyes became serious.
He stood up slowly, the folds of his robe swaying slightly with his movements.
"Bring her to me."
