"There's an ambush! Be careful!"
There were more shouts and increasingly frequent footsteps coming from outside.
David did not panic, but quickly retreated to the inner room according to the pre-planned route.
He set more traps along the way: overturned shelves, spilled powder, even a simple mechanism that would cause something to fall if stepped on.
"He ran inside!"
Someone outside shouted.
David entered the inner room, quickly closed the door, and leaned against the wall to catch his breath.
He couldn't count how many people were outside the door, but judging from the voices, there were at least twenty or more.
He originally brought forty personal guards with him, but now, there was not a single one of them in sight.
Obviously, they had met with misfortune, and the worst-case scenario was that no one would come to help him.
He had to find a way to kill them all, or just lure them away.
A strange voice came from outside, and he was tearing his throat: "Come out here!"
"I know you're in there!"
"Surrender, we know you are the only one left, you can't escape!"
David just continued to lean against the door and shouted back at the top of his voice, "Who are you?"
“Why attack Hebron!”
The other party's tone was firm, leaving no room for negotiation: "What does this have to do with you?"
"Listen up! We give you three minutes to come out and surrender!"
"Otherwise we will smash your door down, and don't blame us for being rude then!"
David knew that the other party was not bluffing because he could hear metallic sounds coming from outside the house.
It seemed to be something heavy metal.
"Open the door!"
"Don't make me say it again!"
