When Elisha heard these words, he nodded silently, and a warm feeling surged in his heart.

David walked into the house and glanced at Elisha.

But at this moment, he heard a crisp "pop" sound.
The crisp sound seemed to come from a place far away, and David could only just hear it.
“Bang!”
Then, there was another sound.
David frowned slightly. It was already late at night and such noises shouldn't be heard.
So he stood up again and prepared to ask the patrol soldiers who were changing shifts.
However, when David went out, he found that the footsteps of patrolling soldiers and the command to change guards had completely disappeared.
At this moment, there was only deathly silence.
David immediately noticed something was wrong. He felt his heartbeat suddenly accelerate and his physical fatigue disappeared in an instant.
He took two steps at a time and came to Elisha.
“Elisha!”
He called out in a low voice, quickly putting on his armor.
"Elisha! Get up!"
"Listen! Keep quiet and don't go out!"
The boy sat up drowsily, but after seeing David's serious and nervous look, he felt his sleepiness immediately disappear.
"What's wrong? Brother David?"
"What happened?"
At this time, David had already grasped the dagger under his pillow.
"Something's not right."
"Go hide quickly. No matter what happens, don't come out."
"Unless, until I come to you."
Although Elisha was confused, he still obediently crawled under the bed.
There was a perfect hiding place that David had prepared in advance.

He looked through the gap in the cabinet door and saw that David had set up some simple traps in the room.

That reminded him of the horrific scenes of his parents and sister's death.
"Shut up, Elisha!"

The reason why David stayed here was because the orders of the "Lord of Light" were above everything else.
Otherwise, he should go there immediately to check the situation and dispatch the troops he brought with him.
But he couldn't leave, otherwise Elisha might be in danger.
A few minutes later, hurried footsteps were heard outside.
"Look at this newly renovated place! It's so impressive!"
"There should be good stuff here, search them all!"
David heard the noise outside, but he chose not to make any sound and just continued to wait.
"There's a door here."
"Locked door!"
"Smash it open!"
Then, there were several heavy crashes.
"Bang! Bang!"
“Crackle!”
The door was forced open and several masked men rushed in, holding shining swords in their hands.
"Here!"
"There's someone here!"
The leading man roared, "Catch him!"
David suddenly rushed out from behind the door and accurately stabbed the throat of the nearest person with the dagger in his hand.
The man fell to the ground with his weapon raised before he could even scream.
The other two were unable to react in time and stepped on the trip wire David had set up in advance and fell to the ground.
David took the opportunity to add two more sword strikes, clean and neat.
Elisha could only feel his heart pounding, and he could hear that more and more people outside were gathering here.
David is in danger!
