"There are so many other people in town, so many people who have nothing to do with this...why on earth would they do this?"
Hearing Elisha's words, the old man shook his head sadly.
“War knows no innocence, and hatred knows no reason.”
"If they want to kill, they will kill."
"These are just excuses."
Elisha looked around and only then realized that this was a shelter, housing civilians who had escaped the disaster by chance.
Most of them were dressed in rags, with scars on their faces and fear in their eyes.
"Grandpa, who are you?"
"I don't think I've ever seen you before."
Elisha watched the old man kneading the herbs.
The old man simply replied, "I used to be an ordinary soldier in the city defense army."
"once?"
The old man pointed to his leg and said, "I tripped over a rock while on patrol and broke my leg. Later, I started my herbal medicine business."
"It's a blessing in disguise now, otherwise I would have died."
A thin girl crawled up to Elisha and timidly handed him a piece of hard bread: "Eat something, it's already midnight."
Elisha took the bread but had no appetite. “Thank you.”
He said, then glanced at the people around him.
Those people looked at the young man with strange eyes. In their opinion, there seemed to be something about the young man that was not suitable for his age.
"But what should we do next?"
"We have to find a way to ask for help from the cities of the New Hebrew Empire!"
"Or, ask for help from the Holy Egyptian Alliance!"
