As they approached their destination, the surroundings began to undergo a subtle and wondrous transformation. The once vibrant green vegetation had, without a trace of fading, transformed into a vibrant red, like balls of burning flame. Simultaneously, a scorching heat permeated the air, making them feel as if they were on a scorching summer day. Yet, surprisingly, despite the high temperatures, the surrounding vegetation remained incredibly lush and vibrant, brimming with life and energy.
As they walked, Alexstrasza stopped, pointed to a spot not far ahead, and said loudly, "Look! That's where the legendary Emerald Dream lies!" Everyone looked in the direction she pointed and saw a huge portal emitting dazzling light, like the entrance to another world. Alexstrasza then explained in simple and clear words, "Entering is actually very simple. All you have to do is walk straight through this door." She nodded to everyone, indicating that everything was ready.
Upon hearing this, Su Yan was the first to turn his gaze towards the glowing portal. Without hesitation, he took a long stride and walked straight inside. Shalltear, following closely behind him, didn't dare to delay either. She hurriedly quickened her pace, closely following Su Yan's figure, and together they stepped into the portal filled with the unknown and mystery.
At first glance, the mysterious and illusory Emerald Dream seemed no different from the outside world, but a closer look revealed subtle differences. Compared to the outside world, this place seemed darker, as if shrouded in a faint haze.
Looking around, the surroundings were eerily quiet, like a slumbering ancient realm. Everywhere I looked, I was met with lush forests. Tall, majestic trees, their branches interwoven and crisscrossing, formed a natural barrier. The ground was carpeted with thick moss and fallen leaves, as if no human had ever set foot on this land. Furthermore, the entire area exuded a pristine, untouched air, with no trace of human or other life. This scene begged the question: finding Ysera here would be a formidable challenge.
Shalltear stood quietly by, her eyes scanning the surroundings sharply. Her brows furrowed slightly as she muttered, "This place doesn't look habitable at all. Could we be mistaken?" Su Yan shook his head gently, his deep eyes gleaming with thought as he spoke slowly, "Perhaps she has her own private residence. After all, as the administrator here, she must have noticed our intrusion." Shalltear nodded thoughtfully, then cast her gaze forward, took a deep breath, and shouted, "Ysera, we've come to see you. Please show yourself!"
Shortly after his words fell, a deep, majestic dragon roar echoed from afar. Then, a dazzling green light suddenly shone, and a massive figure appeared in the sky ahead. As the light gradually faded, the giant green dragon transformed into a humanoid form, landing gracefully before them. It was Ysera, a graceful figure in a long, emerald green dress that fluttered in the wind, exuding an innate elegance.
Su Yan's gaze fixed on Ysera, a wave of wonder streaming down his face. Her figure was graceful and elegant, far more charming than he had imagined. Furthermore, her delicate features seemed meticulously crafted by nature, breathtakingly beautiful. Su Yan's lips curled up slightly, revealing a friendly and charming smile. He gazed at Ysera and said, "Hello! I came here specifically to see you!"
Upon hearing the voice, Ysera turned her gaze towards Su Yan, her eyes filled with confusion and vigilance. She asked, "What do you mean? Who are you? Why are you here?" Shalltear, standing nearby, noticed the alertness in Ysera's eyes and couldn't help but mutter softly, "That alertness is quite high."
Su Yan, still smiling, looked at Ysera gently and explained, "You don't have to stay here forever. In fact, you have many more important things to deal with." However, Ysera remained unmoved and replied firmly, "No, protecting this place is the most important mission of my life."
Seeing this, Su Yan sighed helplessly and said with a wry smile, "Alas, it seems you don't appreciate my kindness." At this time, Shalltear also turned her gaze to Ysera and asked, "Then, may I ask what exactly do you want in exchange for leaving here?" Ysera looked up into the distance and said slowly, "The only thing we can do is wait for the arrival of that earth-shattering change..."
Cataclysm! Su Yan looked at Ysera in astonishment and asked suspiciously, "What on earth does this mean?" He wondered in his heart, could this so-called cataclysm cause the deaths of countless people? Thinking of this, Su Yan couldn't help but take a deep breath.
Then he asked again: "But when will this catastrophe come? Could it be that it has already arrived quietly?" A series of questions popped out of Su Yan's mouth, showing his inner anxiety and uneasiness.
Upon hearing this, Ysera's previously calm expression shifted slightly. Her heart tightened, and a terrifying thought involuntarily surfaced in her mind: if that key figure had already left, then what was the point of her staying here?
At this time, Su Yan, who had been silent all the time, finally spoke slowly: "Deathwing is dead, do you really plan to hide in there and not come out?" Upon hearing this, Ysera trembled, and the expression on her face instantly became extremely complicated.
She widened her eyes and exclaimed in disbelief: "What? Deathwing is dead? When did this happen!" Her voice was full of shock and confusion.
Su Yan raised the corner of his mouth slightly, revealing a faint smile, and replied softly: "It happened not long ago."
Ysera's face was filled with surprise. She quickly turned her gaze to Su Yan standing beside her and asked anxiously, "Who on earth has such ability to kill Deathwing?"
Seeing this, Shalltear, who was standing aside, puffed out her chest proudly and said loudly, "Is there any need to ask? Of course it's our brave and fearless Lord Su Yan!" After saying that, she did not forget to cast an admiring look at Su Yan.
Ysera looked at Su Yan in front of her and asked, "How did a goblin like you kill Deathwing?"
"That doesn't make sense! Are you kidding me?"
Ysera narrowed her eyes and stared at Su Yan, "I want to test your strength!"
Su Yan smiled, "Okay! That's a good opportunity for a competition! This way you can accept your defeat with full confidence."
Ysera nodded and said, "Okay! Then let's find a place to start practicing!"
