arrive
At night, the day's events left everyone drowsy, with only a few knights on night watch straining to patrol the area. Few noticed Soraya's departure and return.
Lilith noticed that Sorea looked unwell when she returned, and urged her to go and rest.
Sorea lay in her sleeping bag in the tent, her eyes closed, but what had just happened kept her awake all night.
A faith tainted by filth, Veldrian's stubbornness, the power struggles between the gods—Sorea discovers that the entire continent is fraught with danger, no wonder rumors of impending war are everywhere.
Once war begins, human lives are merely flags for high-ranking mages and gods!
Sorea kept thinking like this, watching the sky gradually brighten. She didn't want to see war, but she was powerless to do anything about it now.
Seeing that it was time to get up, Sorea nudged Lilith and then stood up to tidy up their things.
“We’ll reach the border of several countries, which is also the headquarters of the Knights’ Guild, in three hours,” Anne reminded Sorea, who had been distracted, from her horseback.
Solaya snapped out of her daze: "Okay, I understand. You don't need to worry about me. Lilith and I will go to the Singri Inscription Academy by ourselves."
Anne was just about to send someone to accompany Soria when Edward spoke up first: "You're going to school too! I also need to go back to school to report for duty and tell our principal about my situation."
Anne thought about it and decided that it was not appropriate to expose Sorea's identity. She suggested that Edward take care of her in the open while she sent people to keep watch in the shadows.
The sun was high in the sky, and there was only a slight coolness under the shade of the trees.
Sorea also arrived at the Singri Inscription Academy, where the first thing she saw was the huge school gate and the sculptures beneath it.
"The first sculpture here is of the former Queen Osenia, now the Goddess of the Sea. The other sculptures are all heroes from human history," Edward explained to Sorea and the other woman as they walked.
"This is Lord Grin, the current vice president of the Knights' Guild, a man of great merit. And that is Lady Ivy, who bravely sacrificed herself to save the people of a city from the evil god's reward..."
He then stopped in front of the last sculpture, bowed respectfully to it, and said proudly, "This is Lord Andrew, the founder and current principal of our academy. He should be considered the most powerful person on the continent."
Sorea was skeptical of this most powerful person, but she did admire the headmaster who created an academy that everyone, including commoners, could learn from. In this respect, Andrew was indeed the first person on the continent.
After introducing the college's humanities features, Edward led Soria and Lilith to admire the beautiful scenery of the college, circling the lake in the center of the college.
"This academy is huge! It's so big it doesn't even look like a school!" Lilith exclaimed, looking around with great interest.
Edward laughed: "Our academy has a history of over a hundred years. It was indeed very small at the beginning, but it has now developed into a city, a pure land that no power, including the gods, can interfere with."
Just as the three were chatting happily, someone ran over while calling out "Teacher!" The person circled Edward twice, completely ignoring Sorea who was standing next to him.
“Louis, I’m really okay.” Edward said, patting Louis’s head.
Louis kept lifting Edward's arm, trying to check on him: "Teacher, I heard you were injured, and I'm really worried about you."
Louisa's blue eyes were so bright and lively, just like a deer's. Edward was charmed by her cuteness and couldn't help but touch Louisa's hair.
"Cough cough cough." Sorea couldn't stand the situation and spoke up to remind them.
Edward finally noticed the two people he had forgotten and quickly introduced them to Louise, saying, "These two ladies saved me."
Louis looked up after hearing Edward's words and saw Soria. He froze on the spot, no longer hearing what Edward was saying.
Edward, oblivious to Louis's distraction, introduced him to Sorea: "This is Louis, my student. He is also a water elementalist..."
Sorea interrupted Edward: "I know him, and he knows me, don't you think, Louis?"
Louise regained consciousness, placed her hand on her chest, and knelt on one knee before Sorea: "Greetings, elder sister."
"You're siblings!" Edward and Lilith exclaimed in surprise at the same time.
“Don’t we look alike?” Sorea pulled Louise to her side. “I already told you I’m here for my brother’s parent-teacher conference.”
Lilith looked closely at Solalia and Louise. The two did look a little alike, but only a little. "I was so caught up in the traffic that I forgot you were here for a parent-teacher conference."
Sorea's mind was completely focused on Louis, and she reached out and twisted Louis's ear: "I'm such a big person here, don't you even notice me?"
Louis felt extremely wronged. He touched his ear, but dared not refute Sorea. He could only weakly say, "Sis, I thought you were with your husband. You...you don't even know how long it's been since you've been home!" As he spoke, Louis gained confidence and his voice became a little louder.
Sorea got angry at him for acting like that and slapped him on the head: "Be serious."
Hearing the siblings talking, Lilith opened her mouth wide in surprise: "My dear lady, my beautiful lady, how could you get married so young!"
"I'm getting a divorce soon!" Sorea said nonchalantly.
Now it was Louis's turn to be surprised: "Sis, how's my eldest nephew? You're divorced, and my eldest nephew wants to come back with you!"
Sorea glanced at her good-for-nothing brother. "That child is nothing like me. He inherited his father's bloodline. I left him with his father."
Lilith dared not speak at all. She knew Soleria's identity, and Louis was also a divine being. She couldn't utter a word about anything else.
Edward looked left and right at Yu, knowing that now was not the time to speak.
After Soria finished speaking, she looked at Edward and said, "Mr. Edward, could you please take Lilith to the hotel? My brother and I have something to discuss."
Edward and Lilith understood that Sorea was going to tell Louis something that no one else should hear, so they quickly nodded and left.
"Sis, you just sent my teacher away like that. I haven't seen him in ages," Louis said, feigning resentment.
"Stop talking nonsense." Sorea glared at Louis. "You and Euan are twins, so tell me about the little brother."
“It makes me sad to talk about this. After my younger brother recovered from his illness, he forgot everything that happened before and became much more distant from me.”
Sorea led Louise to a nearby coffee shop and they sat down. "You went to school with him and even shared a dining room. Don't you understand Euan?"
Louis said he was thirsty, picked up the coffee in front of him and took a big gulp, then grimaced from the heat. After a moment, he gasped and said, "We're not in the same class, sis. You should know how famous he is now. Even though we came here hiding our identities, he's busy as hell all day long."
Sorea slowly took a bite of the strawberry cake in front of her, and then said, "Don't reveal my identity. Bring him here, and I'll try to meet him."
As she watched Louis leave, Solaya pinched the bridge of her nose. She was afraid, afraid that her Yu'an was no longer Yu'an.
Louis was unreliable in many situations, but with Sorea urging him on, he didn't dare to delay and arrived in the square in front of the cafe with Euan in less than ten minutes.
After paying the bill, Sorea walked towards where Yuan was.
She walked very slowly; she didn't want to face the outcome she least wanted to see.
The road was short, and soon Sorea arrived at a spot less than ten meters from Louis and Euan.
When Louis saw Sorea, and remembering her words about not revealing his identity, he winked at her.
When Sorea saw Louis's distorted face, she was reluctant to admit that he was her brother, but Louis's antics dispelled a little of Sorea's unease.
Yu'an is no longer the same Yu'an who was mentally challenged before. Seeing his brother's appearance, Yu'an followed Louis's gaze.
Yuan and Sorea looked at each other.
Yuan has the same blue eyes and silver hair as Sorea. To hide his overly conspicuous hair color, he dyed his hair the same gold as Louis.
The moment Sorea saw Yu'an, her heart was at ease; she saw a familiar soul in Yu'an's eyes.
In fact, Soraya knew that no outside soul could escape the eyes of her father and brother, but before she saw Yuan again, she was naturally terrified when she learned of Yuan's changes.
Sorea looked at her younger brother, whom she had raised herself, and wanted to reach out and touch his hair like she did when Yuan was a child, but when she reached out, Yuan took a step back.
Sorea's hand froze in mid-air, and she smiled awkwardly, saying, "Sorry, did I scare you?"
Yuan looked at Sorea: "Are you the older sister?"
Upon hearing this, Louis blurted out, "Sister, I didn't tell him! I didn't!"
Yuan looked at Louise as if she were an idiot: "She looks so much like us, she can only be our sister."
"Then why are you avoiding your sister?" Sorea's voice became extremely gentle. "Have you forgotten your sister?"
Yu'an fell silent again, and Sorea didn't press him, just quietly watching him.
Yuan opened his mouth, then closed it again. He had never seen such a gentle look in Sorea's eyes before. He knew that speaking would disappoint the person in front of him, but he didn't want to lie anymore: "Madam, I should probably call you Your Highness. I'm probably not your brother anymore."
