Yu An's inner conflict
After speaking, Yu'an closed his eyes, preparing to accept the judgment from Soraya. When he was in the Osenia Empire, he dared not tell the truth in front of the gods, but now, seeing Soraya and her gentle eyes, he desperately wanted to tell the truth and put his mind at ease.
Sorea was quite surprised to hear this: "Why would you think that?"
Yu An's lips tightened into a straight line due to nervousness, and then he said in despair, "I come from another world. Everything I'm showing here was learned in that other world. I'm not Yu An, my name is Wang An. I'm just an ordinary twenty-year-old student. I want to go home."
Upon hearing this, Sorea understood why Euan had distanced himself from Louis and insisted on leaving the Sea of Death to pursue his studies alone.
Before Sorea could even speak, Louis started yelling, "How can you not be my brother? You are my brother!"
Yu'an looked at Louis. He really liked this older brother. He had given up his privileged life to take care of him and come here to study under an assumed name.
"I'll assume you're Wang An now. You miss home, don't you? Can you tell me why?"
Louis and Ewan were quite famous in the academy for their good looks, so more and more people saw them standing there for a long time and stopped to watch. Louis and Ewan happened to be roommates, so Sorea asked Louis to take them back to the dormitory.
The Singri Inscription Academy was very wealthy, and the four of them lived in a detached house. Soon, Louis brought Sorea and Ewan to his room, and the three of them sat together to seriously discuss Ewan's problem.
Yu An looked at the two years in front of him and began to tell his story.
In Yuan's narration, Soraya learned that Yuan had died in that other world while saving a child who had fallen into the water, and when he opened his eyes again, he was on the continent of Singri.
Before he could even get out of bed, he was surrounded by a group of people calling him "Your Highness," and he saw the stern-faced Dagmore and the hot-tempered Kelly. Wang An didn't know if he could go home if he died here, and dared not reveal his identity.
However, he also sympathized with the common people here, who worked themselves to the bone but had to pay high taxes to the church and the state, and could only obtain enough money to survive by praying to God. So he imparted the knowledge he knew, hoping to change all of this.
So after sharing all his knowledge and making many things, he decided to take a good look at the continent and find a way home.
“But I underestimated the situation here and overestimated myself. What I made only made the nobles richer. If it weren’t for the fact that I am a child of a god, I would probably have been wanted by the Harvest Church of the Goddess of Abundance and the Iron Church of the God of Forging long ago.” Yuan finished speaking and laughed self-deprecatingly.
"You've done a great job. Your invention has made life more convenient for ordinary people, and more people have enough to eat." Sorea patted Yuan's head reassuringly.
"But," she changed the subject, "have you seen our Father God?"
Yuan didn't expect Sorea to change the subject so quickly, and he didn't realize that he had already mentioned taking over her brother's body, so why was she being so gentle with him?
“I have seen Him, but I dare not see Him. I only went once. He asked me to go many times, but I made excuses to avoid it.”
Sorea looked at Yuan calmly: "Yuan, tell me, in your eyes, what is the god here?"
Yu'an thought for a moment: "When I first came here, I thought that God was just the strongest inscription mage who was touted as a god."
"So now, what do you think God is?"
“They are not the same species as humans at all. I once saw with my own eyes the Ocean God who was omnipotent in his own divine realm. He could interfere with everything on the continent through his authority. They are the rulers of this continent.” Yuan said in a trembling voice, thinking of the scene he had seen.
Sorea finally revealed her purpose: "Since you understand the power of the gods, why do you think the Father God wouldn't recognize his own child?"
Yu An was completely stunned; he had never thought of it this way before.
Sorea continued, "I can tell you clearly that I don't know what Wang An and the other world mean, but your soul is my younger brother. The awakening of divine power after the birth of the divine child is above the soul."
Yu'an couldn't accept this for a moment. Her belief in returning home, which she had held onto for so many years, collapsed in an instant: "Then are all my memories of living in another world, all these things that don't exist here, and my mother in that other world, fake?"
He slid off the chair, clutched his head, and tried to forget Sorea's words, immersing himself in his own world.
Sorea shook Yuan, and seeing that he had no reaction, she knew that she had to take a stronger approach: "My older brother once told me that before you recovered, you were unconscious for twenty years for unknown reasons. Twenty years should be the time you lived in the other world."
Seeing Yuan's pale face, Sorea couldn't bear it. "You should rest and think about it," she said, then pulled Louis away from the room.
"Sis, so the reason my brother and I are estranged is because he thought he wasn't my brother?" Louis said, suddenly realizing.
Sorea got angry just thinking about it and tapped Louis's head: "I know why he's distant from you, your father, and your brothers after just one meeting. You're his twin and you're often together. Didn't you notice anything about his symptoms?"
Louis retorted, "Sis, he hardly ever talks to me. I keep trying to talk to him, and what can I do if he occasionally replies?"
Sorea didn't want to continue the topic: "I'm here for your parent-teacher conference. Give me your report card."
Louis was overwhelmed when he heard about the report card: "My report card is in my room, and Ewan is still inside. I'll go get it in a while."
Louis said he would get the report card, but his shifty eyes betrayed him. He planned to fool Sorea now and then make a fake report card.
Sorea, who raised Louis, was well aware of his ulterior motives. Smiling, she said in a gentle but undeniable tone, "Take it out."
Seeing that she was really getting angry, Louis hesitated and tremblingly took out the report card from his inscription scroll and slowly handed it to Sorea.
Sorea dodged the report card and flipped through it bit by bit, her face growing increasingly grim. Finally, in a fit of rage, she threw the report card at Louis.
“I understand you don’t like studying academic subjects, and I don’t expect you to be outstanding, but you got a 3 out of 100 in the History of the Osenia Empire. Are you trying to drive me crazy?”
“I didn’t know you were coming. I’m definitely not trying to upset you. If I’m going to be upset, it’ll be my brother!” Louis’s voice trailed off.
"I should thank you for not making me angry, right?" Sorea was already angry when she saw that Louis's academic scores were all in the single digits, but she didn't expect that he could do so badly on his own family history, the things he had heard and seen since childhood, and the people he had met.
"Sister, look at my grades in Inscription and Duel. I got full marks on both, the highest in the entire academy." Louis handed his perfect score to Sorea, hoping to appease her anger.
Seeing Louis's cautious demeanor, Sorea rubbed her temples and said, "Louis, I've been quite busy lately. I shouldn't have snapped at you just now. I'm sorry."
"It's okay, sis, you're right to scold me." Louis waved his hand and said sorry when he heard Sorea apologize.
"...Sister, this is my report card." After calming herself down, Yu'an heard the commotion outside and called out to Sorea after a moment's effort.
"You finally called me 'sister'! I heard you still call your older brothers 'Your Highness' every day at home. Remember to call them that when they come over," Sorea said with a smile, taking Yuan's report card.
Then, full of anticipation, she opened You An's report card; she still had a lot of confidence in You An.
When Sorea saw that Yuan had almost perfect scores in all his academic subjects, she felt overjoyed. But she was too complacent. When she flipped to the dueling class report card, her face turned green.
"You two really are twins! One of you gave me a single-digit score in academics, and the other gave me a single-digit score in combat. You two really gave me a big surprise!"
Louis immediately knelt down and hugged one of Sorea's legs.
"Sister, I was wrong." Then she gestured with her eyes for Yu'an to hug the other leg.
Yuan froze for a moment, then mimicked Louis's action and hugged Sorea's other leg.
Looking at the two of them now, Sorea remembered how they used to hug her like this when they were little, and she couldn't get angry at them.
"Alright, alright, I won't say anymore. You can explain it to your brother yourselves. What good food is there here? I'm a little hungry. I'll take you to eat."
Yu An thought for a moment and said, "Sis, let's go eat hot pot."
"Hot pot? Is it delicious? I've never had it before. I saw it with your sister Arlene last time, but we didn't eat it," Sorea pondered.
"This is food from another world, it's incredibly delicious, let's go."
On her way to dinner, Sorea saw Lilith, who had been brought to her by Edward. Only when she saw Lilith's resentful eyes did she realize that Lilith had been waiting for her all along.
So the hot pot dinner for three people turned into a big gathering for five.
Sorea can't eat spicy food at all; she can't stop crying whenever she touches chili peppers, so she can only switch to a clear broth pot. Lilith, on the other hand, loves spicy food, and half of the food in the spicy pot ends up in her stomach.
After eating and drinking their fill, the group split up and left in different directions. Sorea, having finally seen her beloved younger brother and exhausted from not having slept for a long time, returned to the hotel, washed up, and quickly fell asleep.
Sorea didn't notice that there were several potted plants in her room. A spider plant slowly grew after she fell asleep, and finally its leaves pulled up the blanket that had fallen off her body, and then it took up its stem next to her, as if looking at her gently.
