Book of Time
Hearing the words of greed, Soria took a few steps back in shock, repeatedly saying "impossible," but her heart had already believed it. Her mother controlled destiny, so she could discover dragons long since vanished in the age of heroes; that's why she encountered evil gods related to her mother in every place she went. Why couldn't these evil gods enter the continent...?
Thinking of this, a sudden, intense pain swept through Solaya's mind. Blood quickly spilled from the corner of her mouth, and her eyes turned bloodshot. She covered her head and tried to crouch down to relieve the pain.
The more Sorea pondered the questions about the world, the more pain she experienced. Yet, amidst the pain, her mind became clearer, and she pondered even more.
"Don't think about it!"
It was the voice of the Greedy Blood Eye. Solaya's thoughts were abruptly interrupted, and the pain vanished instantly. She had just recalled some details, and she looked at the Greedy Blood Eye with a wry smile, saying, "You didn't leave with your main body and were caught by me on purpose."
"Why ask me, Your Highness? Divine power is suppressed here, and I cannot go further. You can go and see for yourself." Greedy Blood Eye did not directly answer Soraya's question, after all, the best way to convince someone is to see it with their own eyes.
With a pale face, Sorea stumbled and ran deeper into the boundless white world. She dared to run recklessly here because she believed that her mother would never hurt her; this was the home she and her mother had once shared.
In fact, it was clear from Solaya's unwavering exploration of this place that she had almost completely believed the words of the Greedy Blood Eye. Solaya didn't know what was here. She ran around aimlessly, as if this could vent the unspeakable pain and turmoil in her heart.
She didn't know how long she had been running before her consciousness began to fade. Just as she collapsed, a soft sigh came from afar, and Sorea's body was lifted up by countless black threads.
"Greed, what are you doing! I said I would become the master of the underworld, have you forgotten what I said! Stay away from my children!" The first half of the voice was a rebuke to Greedy Blood Eye, and the second half was a warning to all the evil gods of the underworld.
...
When Soraya opened her eyes, she found herself lying on a sea of white flowers. She immediately sat up and looked around at the flowers. When Soraya saw the flowers clearly, her heart warmed. These were the flowers that the goddess of fate loved most—the Miracle Flower.
The Miracle Flower is called the Miracle Flower because it is not a flower but a fungus, a magical fungus that can shield all divine power.
Soraya roughly knew that her mother had created this pure white world using the power of the Miracle Flower. In order not to damage the flower, she carefully stood up. When she stood up, she saw a huge altar in the distance, with sacrificial patterns painted on it, praying to the God of Fate.
Sorea covered her mouth with both hands, which was agape in surprise, and after confirming that she was not seeing things, she walked toward the altar.
There was nothing on the altar, not even the materials needed to pray to the god of fate. Sorea didn't believe that the altar was useless. She touched the altar with her hand, hoping to find some important mechanism, but after circling the altar, she still found nothing.
"How could there be nothing here? I couldn't have appeared here for no reason."
Solaya stood before the altar, her hands clasped together, resting her chin on her hand as she pondered. Suddenly, she remembered the red thread of fate that had bound the Greedy Blood Eye to her. As soon as she thought of the red thread, Solaya took it out. When the thread appeared, she clearly saw the space in the center of the altar begin to distort.
There really was something on the altar!
The reason the red thread of fate causes things to appear on the altar is because of the mother's divine power; theoretically, as long as there is enough divine power, things can appear. Solaya thought to herself, then directly cut her wrist with a knife, sprinkling her blood on the altar. After all, nothing contains more of the god of fate's power than Solaya's blood!
But before her blood could drip onto the altar, her wounds began to heal, and the things on the altar began to emerge.
There was complete silence, but Sorea knew that her mother was watching her. No mother could bear to see her child harming themselves in front of her.
Sorea began to pray before the altar. Before, she didn't know her mother's whereabouts and was afraid that her prayers would bring danger to her mother. Now she knew that her mother had not disappeared. Even though she knew that her mother would not answer her prayers, she told her all the grievances she had felt since leaving her mother all these years.
After doing everything, Sorea looked at the center of the altar, where there was a book—the Knights' Order's No. 003, the Book of Time.
The Book of Time can reveal the course of all events in the world and all things that will happen in the future. Chrona once opened the Book of Time to teach Soraya knowledge.
Sorea knew how to use the Book of Time, and she also knew that her current power only allowed her to see one thing that had already happened within the Book of Time.
After careful consideration, Sorea decided to go and see how Yuan was doing in the other world. She wanted to know if her younger brother had suffered any injustices while he was without family.
Time never ends, and fate never stops.
As Soraya chanted incantations, she drew inscriptions that could activate the Book of Time. As she felt the power draining away, the experience of Yuan appeared before her eyes.
The Book of Time tells Solia that half of Yuan's soul was taken away when he was born, which is why Yuan has been mentally impaired for more than a hundred years. The person who took Yuan's soul was Suthesius, the god of forging.
Soria stared intently at the image of the forging god who was smiling as he extracted Yuan's soul and cast it into another world. Then she saw the life force of Veldrian on Yuan's soul, Floria creating a barrier for Yuan's soul, and Talmawen reinforcing Yuan's soul.
Sorea felt her reason was split in several pieces. One half kept telling herself that her father wouldn't hurt Yuan, while the other half recalled her father's attitude towards her mother's disappearance, and why, even though she didn't know Veldrian when Yuan was born, Veldrian never mentioned Yuan when she was worried about him.
She couldn't understand why her father would send her younger brother away so soon after her mother's disappearance.
The scene continues, showing the tiny baby helplessly lying on the ground crying "Waaah, waaah, waaah" when Yuan first arrived in the other world.
Then a woman's back appeared in the scene and picked up the crying Yuan from the ground. The more Sorea looked at the back, the more familiar it seemed. When the woman turned around, she had a face exactly like Chrona's.
When Sorea connected the fact that Yuan wanted to return to the other world to see her mother in that world, it was not hard to conclude that the woman was her Chrona, who had been missing for half a month at that time.
She closed her eyes and stopped activating the Book of Time. She no longer needed to see Yuan's past life. With Chrona there, even if it was just an avatar, she wouldn't let Yuan suffer any injustice.
The reason why Yu'an went to the other world is clear: it was a scheme set up by five righteous gods.
Sorea was filled with anger. She understood that her beloved father and mother might have needed her brother's sacrifice for some unknown purpose, and that they had protected him.
However, Sorea's emotions were in turmoil. Why could several righteous gods harm her brother at will? Half of her brother's soul in the other world only had their mother, while the other half of his soul was imprisoned in the Osenia Palace here because of his mental disability.
Out of anger, resentment, and heartache for her younger brother, she threw the Book of Time on the ground to vent her fury.
"Sorea..." A distant yet clear and familiar voice hesitated before ringing out.
The voice of her mother, whom Sorea had longed for for over two hundred years, was right beside her, but she didn't want to respond.
"Mom has her reasons... You know I love you all, I love all my children."
Sorea pretended not to hear and walked straight into the Miracle Flower Garden until she reached the end of the flower field and encountered a barrier.
"Let me out."
As soon as Soraya finished speaking, the barrier disappeared in front of her, and she walked straight ahead. This time, with the help of the God of Fate, she quickly found the Greedy Blood Eye.
"Let's go." Sorea tied up the Greedy Blood Eye again and put it away.
As she prepared to step out of the pure white world, Soria stopped in her tracks: "Your Majesty, Goddess of Fate, I will find the answers to the things you are unwilling to tell me."
"No, you can't, you can't contact the other world..."
Sorea remained unmoved and stepped out of the black pillar without listening to her mother's words. Now, she was filled with doubt and anger. She was bewildered by her father, mother, and the world. Her worldview, which she had built up over three hundred years, had shattered in this short period of time.
Sitting atop Blake's body, Solaya's mind was still a mess. She didn't want to return to the Sea of Death, but she didn't know where to go.
Sorea suddenly thought of her former friend, the bounty hunter Olsen, who was now stationed in the Monster Forest to defend against monsters and beast tides.
She patted Blake, signaling him to change direction and head towards the Monster Forest.
The day before they were to reach the Monster Forest, Sorea woke up to find that she had no feeling in her right hand.
"That's because you didn't infuse all the red threads of fate into your bloodstream, and your right hand is starting to dissipate." The greedy blood-eyed being released from the black pillar spoke with a sinister look as he watched Sorea's actions.
Sorea looked at her immobile right hand and smiled: "He didn't dissipate, so why am I starting to dissipate?"
Greedy Blood Eye withdrew its red pupils, revealing its white ones, as if to say it was giving her a disdainful look, before speaking:
"The former God of Destiny has vanished. Although His rationality remains, His spiritual power has been corrupted by the Inner World. Unless He can return here to cleanse Him of the corruption, He will forever remain an evil god. He cannot even communicate with the people here, otherwise they, including you, will be corrupted. You can only communicate with Him inside the black pillar."
