The end of the beast tide
Verdrian opened his eyes in his temple, and a mouthful of golden divine blood spilled from his mouth. Verdrian had to bend over, as he had been backfired from dealing with the beast tide.
As He bent down, the Emerald Sea began to shake, and Verdrian's temple began to collapse. Seeing the falling stones, Verdrian disregarded the pain from the impact of the world's consciousness and immediately embraced Tarasi. Severely injured, Verdrian could not use his divine power and relied on his damaged body to forcefully block the stones.
As the Emerald Sea began to tremble, the elves rushed out of their treehouses in a panic. They knew that the tremor in the divine realm had dealt a fatal blow to their god, and as soon as the tremor ended, all the elves ran toward the temple.
What they saw was the ruins of the temple, and then they saw Veldrian carrying Tarasi as he walked out of the ruins.
"My lord! How are you?"
Veldrian was already seriously injured, and He did not want His companions to worry too much: "I am fine. I am going into seclusion, and no one is allowed to enter."
"We will obey your will." All the elves knelt down on one knee in unison, bowing their once proud heads.
After He finished speaking, a huge and magnificent golden-green magic circle, which was too dazzling to look at directly, emerged from behind Him. Countless plants emerged from the magic circle, and in a moment, the fallen trees in the Emerald Sea stood up again, and the destroyed treehouses and temples were restored to their original state.
Veldrian carried Tarasi into the deepest part of the temple.
He soothingly stroked Taraxi's head, kissed Taraxi's hand, and, looking at Taraxi who had regained his composure under his care, Veldrian used his divine power to hypnotize Taraxi: "Sleep, my child." After doing all this, Veldrian used his last strength to send a message to Soraya, and then fell into a deep sleep while holding Taraxi.
Fortunately, Tarasi hasn't reached the point where he doesn't need to be fed after being nourished by divine power, otherwise I would have to find someone to take care of him. This was Verdrian's last thought in his dazed state.
In the Monster Forest, after Veldrian killed a large number of rampaging monsters, everyone's pressure was instantly relieved. Several knights saw Solaya kneeling on the ground, exhausted, and rushed over to protect her.
"Lord Jane, are you alright?" An anxious voice rang in Solya's ears, bringing her back to her senses from the shock of Veldrian's clone disappearing.
"It's alright." Solaya knew that if a god fell, strange phenomena would occur on the continent of Singri, but she still couldn't completely put her mind at ease.
She didn't want to admit that she was disturbed by the disappearance of Veldrian's clone, and after regaining her power, she desperately used it to treat the wounded, trying to cover up her panic.
“Aya, my child and I are fine. It’s just that I’m suffering from a backlash and need to recuperate for a while. Once I’m healed, I’ll bring my child to see you.”
The knot in Sorea's heart only disappeared when she heard Veldrian's voice.
Although Veldrian's previous move eliminated many monsters, it was ultimately a technique used by a mortal. He could not help humanity completely resolve this disaster, otherwise the backlash he suffered would be even more severe, potentially shaking his foundation and allowing other gods to take advantage of the situation to deal with the Emerald Sea.
The beast tide had disappeared for only three days, and before Olsen and Kelly could return, a new beast tide began.
Fortunately, before the third wave of beast tide arrived, under the constant pressure from the Bounty Hunter Association, the Knights' Guild, and the Osenia Empire, the Life-Giving Empire and the Steel Kingdom finally sent people to provide support, instead of continuing to wait and exhaust the Knights' Guild's strength.
At Edward's call, the Singri Inscription Academy also sent many teachers with students, hoping that the students could quickly improve their strength in the battle against the monsters.
With the support of several thirteenth-level demigods, Orson and Kelly were finally able to return to their camp to rest for a while. The Life Empire had the most healing-type inscription mages, and Soraya also had time to recover her strength.
Solaya had been working overtime to treat the wounded, and her body had gradually adapted to the high intensity of using magic. During one of her treatments, Solaya successfully returned to the eleventh level of power. Although she was still one level away from her previous level, Solaya had found a way to restore her power.
However, while Olsen and Kelly's return eased Sorea's worries about them, it also made her concerned that they knew what had happened at the camp. If the two of them were to ask anyone about the methods used to eliminate the monsters, it wouldn't be hard to guess that Veldrian had taken action, which would be equivalent to knowing her identity.
Since the return of Kelly and the other man, Solaya has been hiding from them everywhere, both at the camp and on the front lines.
However, things did not develop as Solaya had expected. Olsen and Kelly did not contact Solaya at all, as if they were completely unaware that Veldrian had made a move.
With more powerful humans, humanity has gradually become able to adapt to the intensity of the beast tide. Although many heroes still sacrifice themselves every day, the overall casualty situation is much better than when the beast tide first started. Unbeknownst to many, three months have passed since the start of the beast tide.
Since the start of the monster tide, the number of monsters has gone from countless to countable, but the monster levels are getting higher and higher.
As the casualty rate rose, the leaders of the various factions gathered together.
"We can't go on like this. The level of us humans is far inferior to that of the monsters. Right now, we can still hold on, but once the high-level experts are tied up by the monsters, killing our people will be as easy as playing around for them."
Orson first put forward his point of view: although his bounty hunters were all battle-hardened and fearless, their level was still not enough compared to the people piled up by the other forces with countless resources. At present, the bounty hunter association had the highest number of deaths.
Kelly kept agreeing with him from the side.
Other churches and high-ranking government officials also agreed with Olsen's views.
Dagmore finally managed to take time out of his busy schedule to come to the front lines of the beast tide. As the Son of God, he sat at the highest point of the conference room.
After listening to Olsen's words, Dagmore rested his face on his hands, thinking about what to do next.
“Since everyone thinks this way, our most important task now is to find the Contaminated Bead,” the bishop of the Harvest Church said first.
"Ha, you're making it sound like we haven't been searching. Haven't we been using all our strength to search for the Contaminated Bead?" Kelly retorted sarcastically, as she had never had a good impression of the other church members.
"you……"
Seeing that the argument was about to break out, Dagmore finally spoke up:
“I understand what you mean. Starting with your Knights Guild, everyone should be assigned to teams in batches to actively search for the Contaminated Pillars in the forest, instead of passively welcoming the beast tide as we are doing now.”
“Yes,” Kelly agreed first, followed by the others.
Sorea doesn't have many wounded left to give him. She also realized that simply using her healing powers wouldn't improve her own condition, and that she wasn't very useful on the battlefield anymore.
Upon learning that a mission had been issued to enter the Monster Forest in search of the Polluted Pearl, she decided to venture deep into the Monster Forest herself to search for it.
Of course, all of this is done in secret from others.
"Let me make it clear beforehand, I will absolutely not use my power," Greedy Blood Eye said to Sorea in the deserted forest.
The greedy blood-red eye has now transformed back into a large, winged eyeball.
Seeing Veldrian's greedy, blood-red eyes dissipate not far in front of him, he was even more afraid of the backlash than Sorea.
Sorea never expected the Greedy Blood Eye to help her. She was worried that after she and Veldrian left, no one would be able to suppress the Greedy Blood Eye, causing it to cause trouble in the camp, so she brought it along.
"Greed, after we find the Polluted Bead, take me to find the God of Fate," Soraya suddenly said, not knowing why she had the urge to find Chrona.
Greed was also startled by Sorea: "Didn't you say you didn't want to see Him again? Why did you suddenly change your mind?"
"I don't know either. Let's just take it one step at a time. I suddenly felt like going to check it out." After saying that, Sorea stopped talking and focused on whether there was anything unusual in the forest.
Soraya was incredibly fast. The monsters in the Monster Forest were decreasing due to the dampness, so she reached the center of the forest with almost no resistance.
Although legend has it that the monsters parasitized by the Pollution Beads are completely random, Sorea always felt that the Pollution Beads would not let her be easily exposed, so there must be no Pollution Beads on the outskirts of the forest.
"Don't you have any knowledge about the Pollution Beads at all?" Sorea asked greedily, her expression unchanging.
"Of course not."
“Then you’re probably not as good as the others. Everyone else knows they can’t say, but you’re completely unaware.” Sorea spurred at the greedy, bloodshot eyes.
"You're joking, how could I be inferior to others! The monsters parasitized by the Pollution Bead are all dead..." Greed's words were cut short as if his wings were torn apart by something, and he began to fall helplessly, only to be caught by Sorea with her left hand, who was prepared in advance.
"You...you tricked me into saying this..." came the weak voice of the greedy, blood-eyed man.
Sorea knew that her intentions were good, but her actions were indeed immoral. She quickly gave a small portion of the divine power that Veldrian had left her to her Greedy Blood Eye.
The rich, vibrant divine power greatly improved the condition of the Greedy Blood Eye.
Although Greedy Blood Eye only uttered a short sentence before being attacked by the world's consciousness, this sentence, combined with Sorea's previous understanding of the beast tide, was enough for her to know that if there were monsters that were clearly dead but could still move, that was the location of the corrupted bead.
