Chapter Fourteen: Jasmine Takes Action

A middle-aged man who had just entered the restaurant smelled the aroma, his eyes lit up, and he walked straight over to ask, "How much is a bowl of noodles?"

"I'm sorry, this is something I made for my son, not something from a restaurant."

Lu Mingming nodded apologetically, then set out the tableware for the little tiger and put a new bib on it.

The little guy had woken up when Lu Mingming arrived, and it held its head high with a reserved air, waiting for Lu Mingming to come to its side. It had no doubt that Lu Mingming had won.

The noodles on the table exuded a fragrant aroma, with finely shredded wood ear mushrooms and chicken laid on top of the bright white noodles, and a few drops of clear oil floating on the soup, making it look very appetizing.

Seeing this, the surrounding customers were so eager to disregard the fact that the noodles were still piping hot from the pot that they wanted to pick up a mouthful of noodles and put it in their mouths themselves.

Unfortunately, no one dared to do it.

Lu Mingming picked up a mouthful of noodles, carefully blew on it to cool it down, and fed it to the little tiger's mouth. The little guy, who usually ate it in one bite, actually shook his head and refused today.

The soft paw pads pushed Lu Mingming's hand hard. She didn't understand why until the chopsticks turned and moved to her mouth. Only then did Lu Mingming understand what the little tiger meant—it was worried that she was hungry and wanted to feed her first.

Lu Mingming's face softened with a look of gentleness and relief. She did not refuse the kindness and took the first bite.

The noodles are very chewy and smooth, and the chicken is shredded and served as a side dish, mixed in with the noodles, adding a touch of chewiness.

The rich, flavorful chicken broth scalded her tongue. Lu Mingming breathed on it and picked up another bite of noodles, holding it to the little one's mouth: "You're still young, you can't go hungry. I've already eaten in the kitchen."

Hearing this, the little tiger finally felt relieved and accepted Lu Mingming's offer of food.

The people around showed no sign of leaving, and continued to attract other customers who had entered the restaurant, who all came forward to ask what had happened.

"Can you smell this? I reckon it's something made by a top-notch childcare worker, something like chicken noodle soup."

"Does anyone actually eat chicken? It smells terrible and is so fishy! You guys are so boring, I feel like throwing up just from the smell."

Those who were just there for the spectacle hadn't noticed Lu Mingming's previous conflict with the childcare worker. They quickly followed up their initial complaint with a question: "Could this be a shill hired by the boss for publicity?"

Those who had watched the whole process from the morning complained, "What's with all the 'trolling'? Why don't you find a mid-level or high-level childcare worker on Xingfu Star to take a look?"

The man sneered, "A bunch of ignorant fools. What's so great about a bowl of lousy noodles? Back when we went to the main planet, what delicacies didn't we eat?"

Just as the onlookers in the back row were about to start arguing, the childcare worker came out of the kitchen. He had clearly composed himself and didn't seem particularly disappointed, even though he had accepted that he had lost the bet.

The childcare worker frowned and scolded, "This customer, please do not cause trouble in the restaurant."

The man continued to provoke: "Oh, do you really think you're the best restaurant on Xingfuxing? You want to turn us away like this? Do you believe I'll give you a bad review on my reservation list?"

The other customers booed him, saying, "Go away, go away. If you're going to cause trouble, then leave now. If you don't like the food, go find a high-end star-rated hotel on the main planet."

The man wanted to argue further, but was interrupted by a loud female voice from the doorway: "What's going on? I rarely come to check on a shop today, and I didn't expect it to be so lively. If you're going to argue, get out of here and don't disturb the owner's business."

Lu Mingming looked up and met a pair of gentle eyes, their eyes sparkling with tenderness, like the softest clouds in the sky.

The woman had short, neat hair, bright red lips, and wore a distressed denim skirt. She was tall and thin, with a handsome and dashing appearance. Her bare arms showed strong, smooth muscle lines, and a thick tail swung behind her—very much like a lion's tail.

She squeezed through the long line, her face inexplicably exuding a lazy air. A mocking smile played on her lips as she swaggered to the table.

She met the man's gaze for a moment, until he couldn't withstand the mental pressure and sheepishly looked away.

"Hello, I'm Jasmine."

Jasmine? Lu Mingming remembered that one of her loyal viewers was also named Jasmine. It couldn't be such a coincidence!

Subconsciously rejecting the result, Lu Mingming put aside her feelings and replied in a friendly manner:

"Hello, my name is Lu Mingming."

Upon hearing the familiar name, Jasmine glanced at the little tiger again without revealing her feelings. On the surface, she appeared calm, but in reality, she secretly clapped her hands with delight.

She wasn't sure if the childcare worker was referring to the livestreamer, but now that she'd seen her in person, she was finally relieved. Unfortunately, it wasn't the right time to formally acknowledge them as family.

"Is there anything I can help you with? I'm the area manager for this area, and I'm here today to check on the stores."

Lu Mingming wasn't sure if it was just her imagination, but she felt that the woman in front of her spoke much more gently, and with a strange sense of warmth.

"It's nothing, I just made some chicken noodle soup for my kids."

What is chicken noodle soup? I've never made this in my live streams!

Jasmine subconsciously looked up at the table, just as the little tiger, having finished grooming its fur, looked up and met her gaze. Its icy blue eyes were like icebergs that had stood still for thousands of years.
